My daughter car started to overheat while in Austin. She lives in Arlington. So out of town and needed someone to fix her car. She found these people through a google search. I can tell you I was skeptical.This could not have been better. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it a day earlier than expected. Adam kept me informed throughout the process. She needed to get back to Arlington for work. He listened and put some urgency in fixing.Thank you A&A. I really appreciate your service._______________________________________________________________3/11/24Update: They did not change the housing only the water pump. so now i get my car home and I have to change the water pump again because they did not change the housing. THis place is terrible.

I was able to take my 1965 ford mustang in for an alignment, which a lot of shops don t have the knowledge to do since it s and older car which uses shims. I had seen a few mustangs parked outside before when passing by and I m glad I gave them the opportunity. They also found some loose steering components and made sure to tighten them down, saving me from a potentially terrible accident. The owner was polite and knowledgeable and I was able to make an appointment by phone and drop it off in the morning. Overall I had a good experience and won t hesitate to use them again for my mustang.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I really want to thank the guys here for fixing my problem. They went above and beyond to diagnose the problem and promptly get it done. I needed it done same day because I am from out of town and had my engine light come on. They were amazing. I believe Alex was who helped me. Price was great too. Charged me about $130 for an assessment. Told me it was the coolant pump and they had to DROP THE ENGINE to do the repair and quoted me $1600. All that for a coolant pump didn't seem right so I decided to do it myself. Well, after about 7 hours of work (with frequent breaks and swearing), careful use of a jack, and about $160 in parts, I replaced the coolant pump without dropping the engine. Guess what? There's still an issue and it's not the coolant pump. What a rip-off.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

A&A AutomotiveScamming Female Teenage Students at San Marcos University with multiple fake diagnoses and collecting money every time they go back to complain about the same fault.And if the argument tries to argue that they have paid multiple times for the same the auto shop will seize the innocent student's car until the payment.A & A Automotive shop needs to be shut down for scamming people.

I am new to the San Marcos area, which you know is a college town. I am female and short which makes me look a lot younger then I am. These guys thought I was a young college girl and decided I was an easy person to get money out of. Little did they know, #1 I am an Attorney and #2 I know more about my foreign engine then they do. The $800 part they tried to force me to buy through them, was a part that did not even go on the type of engine I have and retails for half the price. After realizing this is either a very uneducated shop or an unethical one. I decided to pull my car out of their shop. After looking at my car there was 8 missing bolts and other careless mistakes they made. They did not take the time to even put the car back together correctly. Me and my 4 car household will not ever use this Mechanic again.Service: Auto maintenance

I found this shop online, and I was skeptical because it is hard to trust a new shop in a new town, but the men who I interacted with were very kind and listened to my description of the concerns I had about my car. They checked it out, and when we spoke on the phone, the nice man told me everything he had checked, and listed the concerns he had in a clear way that was easy to understand as someone who doesn t know much about cars. Very impressed with this shop, will be returning if I run into car trouble in the future!Service: Vehicle safety inspection

I've gone to A&A twice now and both times they have not only been super helpful and kind, but also got everything installed or fixed. They also don't try and sell other services, they stuck to just what I asked of them and kept everything at a reasonable price. I recommend them to anyone who needs help with their vehicles.

Senior Adam had supposedly done a wheel alignment for my car, after advising getting new tires, which we did and the issue is still continuing. We talked to Adam and he continuously tells us to do some cross tire, which we do not know how to do, we are not mechanics and was never told after the supposed fix to do as such. I do not recommend this auto shop if you are needing car maintenance, or explanation of issues as they are not wanting to take ownership or help fixing the issue.Service: Wheel alignment

I had gone to multiple mechanics before and have never been able to tell me what was wrong with my car, but with the one visit I had here they were able to fix and patch up my car right away. Decently priced, great customer service, and fast repairs. 10/10 recommend and will always come back here in the future!

Called on a Thursday to make an appointment to drop it off on Monday morning at 8am for AC repair. I drive for work so AC is kinda important. Called them around 12:30 and got told that I'm not in their system, I didn't have an appointment, and they hadn't even touched my car. I would highly recommend not wasting your time with this shop.

I ve taken my truck in twice for the two oil changes and to replace my windshield rear view mirror. The oil change specialist over tightens the nut in the oil pan, my rear view mirror shakes violently. Low prices for quick turn around at the cost of having your vehicle treated poorly.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Did a great and timely job with repairs on my Mustang. They were honest and I never got the feeling that they were trying to cheat me. mechanics and salesmen have lied to me in the past to get more money, but these guys aren't like that. I will go back whenever my car needs repairs or maintenance. Very nice people, good service.

I can't say enough good things about the guys and the customer service quality of this place! Yesterday, they helped me once again and I walked away with more knowledge of my car and how things should be handled, versus the bs I am handed and quoted by dealerships and other places that deal with cars.I was pleasantly surprised and impressed to find out that Adam Sr. is the man responsible for such beautiful decor in the lobby! The whole place is classy, clean, and very female friendly. He honors God and our troops on the walls which is important to me. I always feel treated fairly and love the way Adam goes out of his way to help me understand my vehicle. He's helping to empower this lady! God's speed to your business! We need more honest folks like A&A in this town. Thanks again

Took my truck in with one trouble code. To their credit they did diagnose and repair one issue (Replaced injectors, $1000) Got truck back with fuel leak and a noticeable miss-fire(They fixed fuel leak). They could not and did not fix original trouble code. They made a suggestion that might fix it ($1800). I m pretty confident their suggestion would not fix the issue, as I was a mechanic for 35 years. Now truck has multiple codes, and the timing was not set correctly.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair

Spent $2500 in previous repairs, tried to develop a relationship with the shop. Recently took my truck here and the prices seemed to have been driven way up! I told Adam that I would need a few days til payday to have the work done. So I go pick up the truck and he nails me with a $65 estimate fee! I'm broke as is and he does this to me at 8am. Great experience with these guys. They re honest and offer very fair prices. I read the couple 1 star reviews on here, and knowing these guys, I bet those were some innocent mistakes. For the amount of cars they service, errors are bound to happen here and there, but the majority of their reviews speak for themselves.I trust these guys with my car. That s rare.

I had a great experience going here. I called about my car making squealing noises and they said to bring it in whenever it is convenient for me and they will look at it. I got there and they said they were completely booked for the next 4 days but looked at my car anyways, they then told me the break pads and rotors were out and they could have it done by 9 the next morning. I have had bad experience in the past being scammed with my vehicle simply because they saw a young female that knew nothing about cars and over charged me or "fixed" things that weren't broken. That is not the case here. They got my car in, fixed it, and did not charge me for anything that wasn't needed.. I will definitely be going back!

This is a really busy place and busy mechanic. I'm 47 now, and I've met Adam senior after high school. He was a good mechanic then, and still is. My parents have gone to Adam for approximately 25 years. As far as I know, he is one of the cheaper mechanics out there. Only recently have I shopped around to see whats new, and what's going on. I'm only a shade tree mechanic, but Adam is next level mechanic thats for sure. Ive learned a lot about cars along the way, and get a tip every now and then. However, Adam has always been very honest, and thats rare in this day in age, with or without the beer bug floating around.

I wish I could give no stars. I came here for a rack and pinion that cost me over $1,000. They replaced it, charged me, and pretty soon the problem was back. I went back, the owner told me that "all new rack and pinions are bad" and it was not his fault... and finally agreed to replace the rack and pinion a 2nd time. Sure enough, the problem still persisted (even though they said themselves it would be fixed by replacing that part). Long story short and dealing with these people for weeks going back 5 times, I had to go somewhere else. Unfortunately, they would not reimburse me anything at all, and I had to get my car fixed somewhere else (somewhere that did the same thing and did it correctly). I don't know if being a college female made me come off as a joke to them, but every penny I had was wasted on parts and labor for nothing. Other shops and friends of mine told me this place is not worth it's salt. Get a second opinion and don't trust these guys.

I have taken two cars to A & A Automotive for pre-purchase inspections (PPI, aka buyer's checks). Both inspections were thorough and honest. We were treated with respect, and our questions were answered in detail. This is a multi-generational family-owned business, and I have had positive interactions with each generation and multiple levels of staff, from the owners, managers, and mechanics.Note, because this matters to some: I'm a woman and have not experienced any patronizing treatment. I've only had positive interactions with their team.The first car I brought in for inspection had very high miles but they learned that it was in fantastic mechanical condition--and since that was unlikely, the rest of their team joined in on the inspection to keep searching for some flaw that had been missed. They found nothing significant and gave us a list of the maintenance and repairs we should expect over the next few years, how much they would typically cost, and when we should expect them. That gave us the confidence needed to purchase the car and drive it across the country the next day.The second car I brought in had low miles, was in great exterior condition, and drove wonderfully. I only had it inspected for peace of mind. The A & A team found a host of problems under the surface. They learned that the car had internal parts held together by zip-ties, multiple leaks, and was almost certainly an unreported flood car. Disaster on wheels, no matter how well it drove in the short-term.I asked quite a few questions in both cases, and everything was answered in detail.

These guys are amazing. Ive brought a couple of my vehicles here. They are knowledgeable and polite. Ive sat in the waiting room and heard these guys call customers to save them money. Im pretty sure they saved my life this last week by finding a dangerous wheel bearing problem and informing me and getting it fixed. Thanks Guys for all your hard work. I won't take my cars anywhere else.

Two years ago I brought my 96 Lexus in for a check on my power steering cause of a leak.Guy walks out, looks under my car once and is certain it s my power steering pump without any actual testing. Price he quoted wasn t bad for labor and parts. However, I decided to check it out with someone else, turns out all I need was a new hose for less than $60. Shady shady shady, glad I left this place.

This shop is the only one I trust in Central Texas, have brought five cars to them over the years and ones there now. I never doubt they will do what s best and won t try to sell me something that isn t needed or try to pull a fast one on me. They speak straight, know what they re doing and do it well. Always would recommend this shop.

Adam Sr and Adam Jr take great care of our vehicles - no BS, no upselling, just fixing what needs to be fixed and making suggestions when asked. Even their battery prices are competitive. Support local, with these guys!
