I wanted to have a fresh rebuild for my 94 Bronco restoration. Rick is a straight up guy! He quoted me 5 day turnaround and he kept his word. Price was really good (according to people that I asked on the FB Bronco restoration group). My bronco is now a daily driver and everything works good with the engine. You may see my Bronco around between Leon Valley and Helotes.I will be taking him another 5.0L that o want to have rebuild.

My 350 sbc from an 85 Monte Carlo SS went into RMS for a gasket reseal and freeze plug replacement with repaint. It came back looking as good as it did when I had it rebuilt and honestly even better. Rick and his guys were able to identify why my Old Gen 1, wouldn t stop leaking oil. Guys and gals, stay away from some of that pretty chrome aftermarket stuff. It s not worth it! Just stay or go back OEM! It happens to a lot of us and we don t even realize it. Thanks Again Rick and you have my loyalty!

Worst machine shop ever, will not recommend this place to anyone in San Antonio. They took weeks just to put water and clean two heads, took them there because they had all nice pictures and reviews from before, but they disappointed me. They do not deserve to have 5 stars review, my girl is helping me clean the heads again with a tooth brush and degreaser and she s doing it way better, she has no experience at all. And worst is that they charged $600 for that junk work. They haven t even send me a receipt, guess they just wanted to get their Christmas presents money out of some customers. Oh well the manager doesn t answer texts, and have to call them 10 times so they can return the call and hour later IFFFF they do.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have known Rick at RMS for years I'm a machinist also and I have my own shop and I feel erased engines and applications and do fabric it's hard to get a machinist to take his work to anyone especially another Machinist but Rick is a go-to guy he's the only person I will sideline work for or with so that's saying a hell of a lot he does good business he's Fair and before getting on the Internet and posting bad reviews why don't you try to call him and talk to him about a problem he will take care of it for you

This place sucks! Beware don t pay for anything up front! Paid this guy to rebuild my 98 chevy engine and he had my truck for about 6 months! Then when it was time to pick it up he was trying to tell me it won t start it needs a starter. All it was is the truck was completely out of gas!Truck had a full tank of gas when it was dropped off! Make sure to take a picture of mileage before and after! They had put over 200 miles on my truck! I know they need to drive to test stuff but 200 miles? And then not even offer to put gas back in it. A few months later had to take truck back to a different shop but it was knocking and leaking oil among other problems. The engine was never rebuilt they just took it out painted it and put it back in.

I brought my classic car in for engine diagnostic & they said the valves were bad in my 383 stroker engine which in fact wasn't the truth at all. I decided to do an LS swap & replace engine. After a few weeks he wouldn't answer calls or texts after he received half the amount we agreed upon. He dissapeared. I showed up & nothing was done to my car except my engine on the floor in hundreds of pieces.he tells you 1 thing & does another. I purchased lots of parts & none were installed at all.He put in a junkyard motor. When I confronted him he goes off cursing & his dad Riccardo Luna senior starts cursing & threatening me. My engine I purchased was just sat down in my engine bay almost sideways not connected to anything. I called police & in order to get my car back I had to pay full amount just to get my car & parts in a box back.this shop will scam you. Do not go to this shop. I actually talked to several of his unsatisfied customers & they all said they did the same to them. They are thieves & liars. I'm having to buy all parts again cause they kept most of everything. Scammers father & son . Do not take your vehicle or they will do the same to you. I'm reporting them to the BBB & I'm following up with a small claims report. Warring to anyone that goes to this buisness.. YOU WILL GET SCAMMED!

I share this experience as a warning for others NOT to do business with RMS machine shop. They take your hard earned money and make you believe their using new parts. When all along old rusty parts were installed. These people need to be put out of business!!!! They use new clients money to complete previous work. Rick Jr. deliberately doesn't return your call to check on the status of your vehicle. They destroy your property. SAPD has been called numerous times for the bad business conducted by this company. Even tow truck drivers are familiar with this place. I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR CLASSIC CAR, HOT ROD THERE. You will be ripped off. I firmly believe in Karma, what goes around comes around. Your company is not worth a one star review but I had to put one.Service: Engine repair

After a recent service visit to the BMW dealership, where I felt taken advantage of, I wanted to try somewhere different. I researched local service centers and found that RMS had overwhelming positive reviews. I had a good feeling from the start and am glad that I chose take my vehicle to them. The service, knowledge, and professionalism was above reproach. The environment and staff were friendly and family like, which I appreciate. I plan on continuing to take my vehicle here, as I know that it will always be in good hands.Service: Engine repair

Same Day Unbelievable Price - Amazing. I m an attorney so time is an issue - they replaced 8 fuel injectors in my Escalade and it s never driven this well- oh and had it back to me SAME DAY. The charge was WAY lower than I thought.- they don t gouge you on parts - they even gave me their discount. I always take my Escalade to Ken Batchelor Cadillac and I never will again.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

Amazing experience! If my family or myself have any car problems this is our place !!! They re fast, reasonably priced and they will take care of you !!! I highly recommend them . When I had recked my car , I went to other shops to get quoted and I was lied to about what needed to be repaired. RMS was honest and didn t try to trick me into spending more money . They are the best .

Brought in a 2000 f150 that needed a motor. Told me it d cost 800$ to install the motor, went over my head and bout a bunch of parts without telling me. Said you went way over budget but we got it done when I never authorized any of it. Wasted 1750$ and 2 months of my time. If you want quality and honesty than stay far away from this shop. First off, this machine shop is a rip off! All the good reviews come from themselves and their shady friends of theirs. They only actually rebuild motors and transmissions that come from actual auto repair shops. If you are the end user and are having them rebuild your motor or transmission you will be taken for a ride! They only paint what they say they are going to rebuild and charge you rebuild price. I know this because their very own mechanic told me and I too was a victim! None of the mechanics last that long working their due to this father and son shop ripping people off. The mechanics do as they are told from the father and son and are in fear of retaliation from all the people that have ripped off! The transmissions that they claim to rebuild come from junkyards. They simply paint them silver and charge full price. If you do not heed this warning, I highly recommend you have them document the serial numbers from your motor and transmission when they claim to have it rebuild on the paperwork. Especially since they are known for falsely switching out motors and transmissions.

PLEASE READI'm going to keep it short, this place is an actual rip off. The service is terrible and so is the work. Ric kept on charging me for mistakes on his end. Absolute joke of a shop, never intend on going back. Better shops out there that actually work on your car.All the good review on this shop come from people he know, I've never seen that much BS in my life.Read the one star reviews as they are from actual customers.

I was in a major accident back in March and my car needed some major repairs. I have never had to use small business mechanics in the past, due to the insurance I carry. USAA was persistent I used their "#1 recommended shop (Service King). Assuming I could trust my insurance, I agreed to allow them have Service King repair it, since it was their number one recommended shop & came with a "lifetime guarantee"...Worst mistake ever!!! Service King not only took THREE weeks to even begin repairs on my vehicle (keep in mind I had to pay out of pocket for a rental until they began repairs), but they also did the WORST job I have ever seen. Shortly after I had an oil change done I realized the hood latch was the same one from my accident and was still bent which prevented my hood from closing properly, putting me at risk of my hood flying up. My fiance was furious and began looking into the repairs done by Service King more...Not only was my car assembled incorrectly by Service King, it was missing countless clips, and multiple parts damaged in the accident were reused in the repairs after they attempted to unbend them. Service King still charged me for " the new parts" causing my premium to go up even more. I was so disappointed, my car was literally falling apart when I came across RMS Machine Shop. I had parts dangling, parts unsecured, a hood that would not close, it was a mess. I have to admit I was skeptical at first especially after being screwed over by a shop that was suppose to be top of the line and guarantee their work...I don't live far from RMS Machine Shop so thought I'd give it a try, mainly because I did not want to risk driving my car in the condition it was in very far. I explained the situation to the owner Ric Luna and he provided me with a sense of relief and comfort my car was in good hands. He had the diagnosis and estimate within a couple of hours and assured me he could begin repairs immediately. His whole staff was friendly, professional, and gave me daily updates on my vehicle. Even after he gave me an estimate, I still priced out 3 other shops in the area and got nothing but quotes more than double RMS Machine Shop quoted me. Prior to retrieving my car, Ric made sure countless times I was 100% satisfied with the repairs/paint job/overall appearance of my vehicle & the overall time it took him to repair my car. Due to my fiance working in the oilfield, and me being on a tight schedule I did not have a ride to pick up my car after it was finished. Before I even had to consider taking an uber, his assistant called and offered me a ride to pick up my vehicle. I have worked in the service industry for nine years/ including worked as a general manager for three and can recognize outstanding customer service when I see it. I have now referred several friends to his shop after they saw the job he did on my vehicle and they have all thanked me for introducing me to a mechanic who is actually reliable, trustworthy, and more than fair on his prices. I am relieved me and my fiance have finally found a shop we have confidence in!!! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mechanic shop they know they can count on at any time, can have their repairs done promptly and correctly, and wont have to worry about being scammed or overcharged! Great hidden gem!

Ok so back in July I brought my car over to Ric. The motor, block, and heads were toast so the plan was to rebuild the motor and replace the block and the heads. At first everything seemed great. He was willing to take payments and charge no storage fee s. It took me several weeks and a second job but I got the money together and payed him the total amount. Upon having the full amount ready to go Ric suddenly stopped answering his phone. When I had cash ready for him he would answer his phone on the first ring. But when I was ready to go pay the balance and get the car going he was a ghost. Anyway long story short I ended up having to drive up there and catch him to talk about the car. By this point it is mid November and he still hadn t touched so he finally finished the car the first week of December. (4 months for a rebuild) I go to pick it up and it runs perfect for about 15 minutes before the timing chain breaks. I called Ric and he sends two mechanics over about an hour later. They do some poking around and tell me they need it to take it back to the shop to analyze the situation further. They offer to drag my car with a tow strap and of coarse I declined as a tow truck is much safer. Ric then refuses to pay for a tow truck. (Keep in mind I had it for 15 minutes before it broke down.) I then told him how terrible that is and he begins to verbally attack me including calling me pathetic and threatening me with a lawyer if I try to come after him in court. So after a police report on the incident I pay out of pocket to tow the car he failed to rebuild correctly back up to his shop. One month later he tells me its finished. I go to pick it up and not only does it now shred serpentine belts because they beat the harmonic balancer pulley on with a hammer and ruined it, but it also had a hellacious rattle from inside the front of the motor. Ric tell me it will drive out and sends me on my way. Two weeks pater the rattling is constant and VERY loud. So I pay a mobile mechanic to come check it out and the problem is THE SAME TIMING BELT! Again the job was done incorrectly and again I am without a car bumming rides to work and paying for uber. Once again after notifying Ric of the problem was told its on me to get it back up there. I was denied any sort of refund (even partial) He offered to take a look at it but there won t be a third time. In summary I paid $2800 plus extra for rides to/from work. I was berated and threatened and will happily post screenshots of the texts he sent me. And again I have to bum rides and wake my kids up early so my wife can take me to work. I am posting this review so that others know the experience I ve had with this shop and the owner. Not to mention Ric and his father both got into a shouting match with my wife (right in front of the police who were making the report) And even the police told me that we were the third or fourth people in the last 6 months to file a complaint against RMS for the same thing! Taking money and not fixing the issue. I hope this review helps someone and if you do decide to go to RMS I hope your experience was better than mine. I m taking my car to Adriens mobile mechanic shop and spending just shy of another $1000 to fix Rics work and have it done right. If you need a great mechanic that will come to you I highly recommend Adrien. Anyways good day to y all and Ric if you re reading this you need to take better care of your customers. $2800 is a lot of money for an electrician with three kids and I stills don t have a running vehicle.

My check engine light on my BMW 528i turned on so I took it to the BMW dealership and was told right away I was going to have to replace my thermostat. My vehicle is a newer model and I couldn't imagine something like that going out that fast. I was then referred to RMS Machine Shop from a friend and Im thankful for that. The technicians took the proper steps in diagnosing my car and saved me a great amount of money that I thought I was going to have to spend. Turns out I don't need a new thermostat after all. Good to know I can take my vehicle to some good honest people. This was several months ago and I haven't had an issue since. I highly recommend these guys and will continue to use them in the future.

Took my engine to get rebuilt, Rick was cool in person, but I could never get a hold of him during the rebuild or after I picked up my engine, to this day I still cant reach him, before I took my engine to him he was fairly easy to reach. This can be a real issue because if I needed to make changes during the process, I cant reach him to make those changes, its a shame he acts this way towards clients paying $1600+ for his services. Also he sent my engine back with no timing belt because it needed a water pump, if he would have just made a single phone call or picked his phone up, I would not have had an issue paying for the water pump so he could finish my complete long block, instead I paid full price for complete job and got a motor back that was partly in pieces.I will not be sending anymore work to his business for this reason, he is a inexperienced business owner and anyone sending work his way should keep in mind the communication issue. Also there are other reviews stating Rick claim his card machine is broken, I can confirm this is true, DONT EXPECT ANY SORT OF WARRENTY FROM THIS PLACE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

My husband bought a truck a truck and was told it had a brand new engine and was in good condition, well after a couple weeks the truck started to break down first it was the radiator that busted then the spark plugs that were old and nasty went out. It wasn't even a dam month. He took the truck back because he was told from his mechanic that he would need a whole valve job or a new engine because the truck was not worth fixing which came out to $1500 to get repaired. So he took it back to the place he bought it from which was supposedly inspected by the top mechanic which is this guy on the pic that pretty much blamed my husband for this truck breaking down didn't even bother fixing his sloppy work wanted to charge my husband again to fix his dam mistakes and had a bad attitude I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone they just want to screw people over for whatever they can!!!! And as far as the place that sold him the so called fixed and reliable truck RMS SALES hell no they aren't worth a crap either! !!!
