I was quoted a fantastic price that was demonstrably less than what the dealer was going to charge me. The tire were installed as I waited and had a great conversation with the owner Dan. I look forward to doing business with Motorcycle Tire Shop again. Thank you Dan for the knowledge you passed along to me while I was there. Will be calling you soon.

To the point, I highly recommend this workshop, the owner who is the mechanic (Mr. Dan), actually knows what he is doing, he made the service to my Harley that included tuning, mounting and tire balance, everything was perfect, the prices are very adequate. The gentleman never tried to take advantage of me, even though I suggested doing other maintenance, he indicated that it was not necessary at that time since he revised it and everything was perfect, I'm sure another mechanic would have done that job even when I did not need it just to take my money. For the quality of work, price and for the knowledge of this man, I can recommend it widely. I do not understand other comments where people complain about Mr. Dan, He it is not a person who talks bluntly or who decorates phrases to wrap their customers, and if what you are looking for is a place where they will be pampered , then this is not the place, but if you are looking for a place where you can do a good maintenance of your vehicle at an excellent price and well done, bingo! Here it is!!!!

Dan aka "Pork chop" and I had VERY rough start. Customer service is not something you will find at this mechanic shop. Dan is rough around the edges, abrasive. The way Dan conducts business is very direct. Be warned: most people will be offended by the lack of finesse he exhibits when he communicates. I was initially. Look passed it...Go there with what you have in mind, ask how much and when it will be complete. Then leave...The work that Dan had done was replacing tires on rims. I brought the tires, he did the work. My Rims and tires are balanced and look great on my bike.He said 2 hours, and he delivered. Price point was great. I will return for future tire replacements.

I used "pork chop" to mount and balance my new tires for my cycle. This was done on 5/28/16. True to form from previous reviews he is a small one man operation, appears gruff but darn sure knows what he is doing. He has the equipment (looking at it) to do most anything on a motorcycle. He told me to be there by 2, I was and only had to wait a couple minutes for him to return. He made it clear he is "cheaper" than most and that I needed to remove any tire packaging and leave the bike in the back. I did and i did. He suggested it would be completed at 5, so i ran some additional errands and was back at 5:02. He was complete except the exhaust pipe was not reconnected, but within a few minutes that was completed. I personally checked for tire rotation marking, balance weights and of course an overview of it all as well as a test ride. All was in order and I greatly appreciate getting to know him a bit better. Total price was $140 about $20 more than originally quoted but he had the reasons. Compared to the dealer who quoted $212 plus shop fees and taxes (probably close to $240) I saved a cool $100. Will i use him again, sure. He is a reasonably nice guy just a bit rough and gruff. But trust me he appears to know what he is doing.

I called MotorCycle Tire Shop about a week ago because of some needed maintenance for my Triumph Scrambler before taking an upcoming 2000 mile cross-country trip. The owner/operator was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He is not there to be friends, rather he is there to save the customer time and money all the while treating his customers with a high level of respect and professionalism. People may have their feelings hurt if they are looking to have tea and cupcakes with their mechanic, hence the invalid low ratings. The owner is straight to the point and efficient with his operation. When I dropped off my bike to have the service performed, he quickly spotted a few mistakes that the regional Triumph dealership had done and quickly rectified those issues. He gives great tips, how-to's towards maintenance and general repair, helping the customer out in the long run. His pricing is very fair. Most of the 1 and 2 star reviews here are merely superficial. My experiences with the owner and the business does not accurately reflect or support the low ratings received. There are hardly any shops like this around anymore and I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

See I WAS gonna go to this shop regardless to see if I can utilize this man's shop for professional services to install new tires but after a quick call I immediately changed my mind and after looking at the reviews I kind of should've expected how the call would go. I'm a disabled veteran and just the way this guy presented himself over the phone was disrespectful referring to my bike as "sh*t". I have a sailor's mouth myself but if you're trying to reel in new clients you simply don't talk to them like you're chilling on the block. Not knocking the guy's skills at all because he seems pretty reputable, but unfortunately first impressions goes a long way. Guess I'll keep it moving and go somewhere else where I don't have a hostile reaction to a simple question.

I have gotten my tires put on for the best price I can find. Quality work and close by my house. I ve recently gotten my gaskets on my rockers done and he always beats other prices. I ride a 2013 iron 883 and will be back whenever my bike needs extra attention. Thanks pork chop!!

I went in to get my tires mounted and balanced on my Honda CBR600. Had it done within 2 hours. The price was fair. Didn t scratch up my wheels or anything like that. He took really good care of my bike.I had already bought my tires online and he recommended me a different website where I could find them a bit cheaper for next time. He even asked me if I ve been keeping up with the maintenance on my bike. His goal is to make sure your bike is as safe as possible. He s just looking out for your well being. He was a very nice guy. But if you give him attitude he ll give it right back. Give the man the respect he deserves. He was very informational. He definitely knows what he s doing. He has many years of experience. There s not too many places where I can take my bike for service, but I recommend him to everyone. Thank you again for your services! Will be coming back. God bless.

Pork Chop was outstanding. Fixed my tire and explained why it was wrong from the other shop. I'll definitely use him again.

I kind of like the owners style of business. Honest, straight to the point and always does a great job mounting my tires.Im a mechanic myself and understand it has to be this way in order to get rid of the unnecessary waste of time and effort.Do your research before going because they are not there to educate anyone.

I've used the Motorcycle Tire Store for all my tire changes on all three of my bikes for a couple of years now. Always good service at a reasonable price. They can even do out of the ordinary wheels like the BMW single sided hubs. I would, and do, recommend them to anyone. Compared to most places their rates, wheels off the bike, are very competitive.

Great service. Come in looking for a used rim after bike was run over in a parking lot . a couple hours later he had that old rim as good as new. Cost of new rim through barley over 600.00 dollars. Having pork chop fix old one 100.00 dollars and good as new.

This guy knows bikes! Ignore his sweet disposition. .. he's a little grumpy, but he knows bikes very well and will do the job right.I took my bike in for a tire change and oil change and he also adjusted my chain tension. (something another bike shop did wrong) for 100 dollars. 50 for the tire and 50 for the other stuff. It took about an hour.Tip; buy your parts online and save money... then take it to him. He will tell you the same thing.

Literally just got sh!t on over the phone by this dude. Asked a question, didn't phrase it correctly and was condescended to shreds. 17 years I've worked customer service and I've never experienced anything like this. Hope you're closed down soon and have to work for someone else again. I tried to help pay your bills with my business. I'll gladly see myself to a big chain now.And don't bother responding, your reviews are on the decline and will stay that way as long as you keep doing you.

Not the most professional when it comes to dealing with customers! Very judgemental, not empathetic. He kept repeating he has been doing it for 35yrs but I don't know if he was complaining r proud either way I would not stop by again, and I wouldn't recommend this place either way.

Porkchop is a one man operation. He knows what he is doing and I have trusted him for years to do the work on my Fatboy. He has installed tires, fixed electrical problems, fixed front control problems and I trust his work with my life. He owns the equipment needed to do his jobs right. He has the education and experience to work on motorcycles and charge a fair price for it. He does not have a front desk person, computers or the time to waist on conversation that does not have to do with fixing your bike at the most fair price. I have trusted him for years.

I called to get a quote for a tire change and was quoted higher than the dealership. I asked why he was charging more than the dealership and the guy went off on me saying I should sell my bike if I can't afford him. I was then cussed at and hung up on. Shady business practice and hot temper is more than a red flag of not doing business with this shop.Post owners response: If the Ducati dealership charges significantly less than your price, how is your price "guaranteed to be 10% less"? As mentioned on the phone Ducati changes $75 total. Precision Motor Sports quoted $35 for bike on tire although they may have quoted low since they knew I typically change my own tires (I just don't have a $200 Ducati stand as I explained to the owner). I think it was reasonable for me to ask why you charge more than what your advertising.I forgive you for the anger you have shown. Unfortunately I can't support a shop that has no respect for others.

Took him about an hour to mount and balance my rear tire . Be sure and remove any packaging material on or in the tire before taking it into the shop he doesn't do trash.

I mount and balance my own tubeless motorcycle tires but have given up on trying to mount tube tires. This is where pork chop comes in. I drop my wheel and tire off and less than an hour later my new tire is mounted and balanced and the tube isn't pinched (like when I try to do it). Thanks pork chop!

Porkchop, the owner, is a crusty old guy, no doubt--but he has lived motorcycles his whole life and can do anything with them, and if he likes you he is extremely reasonable. I had a bent crash bar on my Road King, he blacksmiths it, and straightened it for under a $100! Who can even blacksmith anymore? He rebuilt my brakes on a dynaglide and installed forward controls for $150! He repaired a broken belt for $50. He is $50 an hour for honest clock time. I think the guy rocks. Just don't waste his time and have the money as agreed.

After reading your reviews I opted to give you the benefit of the doubt. I have to say I am sorry I did. I have never been talked to the way you talked to me. I called to get an estimate on a rear tire replacement for my husband's 2014 Road King. You asked me if it had spoke wheels, I replied yes. You asked me what size the tire was and I told you I was not certain, but that it was a stock tire. You told me that Harley has changed their tire sizes over the years and I said ok. Instead of asking me to get you the tire size and call back so you could give me an accurate estimate, YOU chose to be rude and tell me that you would expect that since I ride a motorcycle that you would have expected me to be a good pilot, and read my owners manual and at least know how to change the oil and know simple things like a tire size and I shouldn't expect you to hold my hand. Well let me tell you, I may not ride the road king that I was calling about, but I do ride an 883 Superlow and there are PLENTY of shops in San Antonio willing to "hold my hand" for any and all repairs I may need.

I just called to get a price check on a oil change. The guy who answered was rude as f@#k. Dam near raising his voice asking me if I know how many liters my bike takes. I thought thats your job to know. Is what im thinking. Your definitely not earning my business nor my friends.

Would not recommend, $50 to have the valve stem replaced, Wheel was off the bike, he charged $10 extra for cleaning up the slime in the tire (understandable). But $40 dollars for a valve stem REALLY!!!!

Don't go there until he opens. I went there to drop off a tire to put on. I got into a confrontation with him. Reflecting back on the disagreement, I was wrong. I am an Army Veteran, and he has always done a good job for me. Show him the respect he deserves.

I called this shop today to ask about rims and tires for my Road Glide. The guy that answered the phone was VERY rude and seem like he did not want to help me. I have never heard of this shop until I googled Motorcycle tire shop in San Antonio. I am glad that this shop showed their true colors before I let them work on my bike!!!! I will never call them again and I would never let them work on my bike!!!!!!!!
