My car started making weird noise and I pulled up to the nearest mechanic which appeared to be my new favorite place. Thank you so much for helping me so quickly! I will certainly be back, hopefully only for the scheduled service.

We arrived in San Antonio and noticed our brakes were making a strange noise. We called them and they were kind enough to see us the first thing the next morning! Nice service! We were very thankful.

We ve had good experiences here in the past, but our brakes were replaced 4-5 times (honestly lost track) trying to get them to NOT squeal. The last set still squeal, but we will take them somewhere else to fix the issue. They have officially worn us down. Always nice, but just can t justify another day without the car to face the same issue. Repeated requests to speak with the manager or owner were denied.Update sixth time was the charm. There was really no choice but to continue to work with the garage, unless we wanted to buy the brakes again somewhere else. The garage finally purchased the genuine Audi brakes (as they promised to do the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th times) and they do NOT squeal. Alls well that ends well? But unfortunately we won t be going back.Services: Tires, Brakes

Don't be fooled by the good reviews. My girlfriend took my car here while i was at work and they took full advantage. I told her not to pay if the total repair for AC was over $200 dollars and they were trying to charge over $700 but they tricked her into paying $165 just to add freon and i was too busy working to answer her texts in time to put a stop to that. I could've easily done that myself for a fraction of the cost. Thanks for ripping us off!

Charged $900 to install a starter on a Chevy. Absurd pricing. I d recommend getting services done at another mechanic.

I work in King William so I always drop off my car here for service then walk to work. Pick it up at the end of my work day. I used to go to the Good Year on St. Mary's but they tried to scam me there. Kyle at Mike's Downtown Garage is really honest and won't push you to get work done you don't immediately need. I've been getting my oil changed and tune ups here for years. They're very dependable.

Mike s downtown garage is awesome. I took my 2008 Mitsubishi raider back in June to get fixed. I had already taken it to four other mechanics and they could not find the problem with the vehicle. Once I took it to Mike s downtown garage it did not take them long to find out what the problem was. All the mechanics there at the shop are great and knowledgeable. Kyle the manager was also very knowledgeable and would call me before they did any work on the vehicle. They all have great customer service and friendly. I recommend this place totally. Mike s downtown garage will be my go to mechanics from now on .Yesterday I also took my 2002 Ford Explorer to get fixed and they did a great job. As a courtesy Joe, the Good Year Manager at the Goliad location referred me to Mike's Downtown Garage. In order to get my car serviced per check engine light. It was a Saturday knowing only 3 hours before closing. Joe, went beyond the call of duty! Guaranteed customer satisfaction!Upon arrival at Mike's Downtown location I was greeted by Kyle, the most wonderful flawlessly pleasant manager. Very easy on the eyes too! He was most proficient and professional it must be a Good Year Trait I was TRUMP-ified!!! Even though it was downtown (crazy traffic) Kyle was so entertaining he made me feel so at ease. 1st time I'd met him yet it seemed I'd known him for years. Very reassuring!It was totally worth going the distance. And yes Kyle, I will be back. Thank you Joe, for all that you do. I now know, the Good Year Guys are and will remain my Mechanic Guys!!!

Still too early to tell, however, car seems fixed. Kyle straddles the line of completely professional and also friendly incredibly well. He fixed only what I asked him to : wheel, engine issues, what wasn't making it run smooth. He even reached out via text when I asked for updates and was honest about the time frame. Great experience, hope I never have to go back but if I do I definitely will.

Went to the shop for a flat tire and came out 10 minutes later happy as I could be. My tire had a nail and was fixed in a flash. The best part is when I asked how much do I pay. The service man told me "it is up to you" with a big smile! I handed him $40. I know it wouldn't be that much but this gentleman deserved every bit of it. He just made my day knowing there is good hard working people wuth big heart out there!

Mike's Downtown Garage will be my forever shop. Kyle's customer service has been wonderful and the rest of the staff. The patience and time they have taken with my vehicle is greatly appreciated. This is a very convenient garage owned by the same person who operates another shop I had used for years before moving downtown. If you need an inspection or an oil change this is a great place. If you have a modern vehicle they may be able to handle some repairs as well. If, however, you own an older car/truck or a classic vehicle of any kind I would look elsewhere. As I write this my 89 S-10 is back for it's 3rd visit to fix a clutch problem. The only reason I put myself through another experience here is because it's under warranty. The failure originally popped up 2 days after they did a full systems check and gave me a clean bill of health. The first clutch job took them a week to complete. Within a day or 2 the throwout bearing started screaming at me. Back to the garage for a couple of days. Within a couple of weeks the bearing started squealing again and gears hard to engage. It's been there for going on 3 and 1/2 working days and counting. The first job cost $1000, plus towing. Add in the days from work and this clutch has cost me close to $2800. All in all, I can't recommend this branch of Ken's for more than basic routine maintenance.4/30 update: removing another star- popped my wheels off today to replace shocks and found not only are my disc brakes shot but the pads where so gone it was metal on metal and rotors are completely ruined. This is after my initial visit to Mike's for an oil change, radiator flush, and multi point inspection. Never once did Kyle mention brakes were shot.I'm really wondering if there was an inspection done, if the oil was changed, and if any work was done to my radiator. Not only do I not recommend this shop, I now recommend avoiding this shop. Those that have had luck here in the past must have lead better lives than me and I hope their luck holds.

I was downtown running errands & got a flat.. out of all places, Downtown. I thought I was stuck. But I google a shop that could help me out. And Mike's Downtown Shop pop up. . Great location, wasn't far at all. I walk my tire to the shop. And they patch my tire up real quick for me. And I was out the door. Appropriate the service

I had such a great experience with Mike s Garage! My car wouldn t start one morning, and I was freaking out. My tow driver recommended Mike s, and at first I was wary to take the recommendation when I had another shop in mind. However, I saw that Mike s had good reviews, and so I gave it a shot.And I am so glad I did!! They replaced my starter, patched a tire, and replaced a belt for a very reasonable price. They also did it in great time and were so kind and professional. I always worry that I am being swindled because I don t understand cars, but Kyle (I think his name was?) showed me the exact problem and explained in a way that I could understand.I highly recommend these guys Service: General repairs & maintenance

I highly recommend them for, in my experience, tire issues. Unfortunately they had family issues today and they closed early, but even though all this was happening they still took care of me with great time and work. Their prices were excellent and they didn't rush me at all. My tire pressure was literally at 1% and they got it done. Thank you so much guys. Y'all have a wonderful team.

I live out of town and needed to have my truck serviced due to the Check Engine light blinking.Kyle was very welcoming and worked quickly to find the issue. He let me know what the issue was and did not talk over me or with industry "lingo."He made me feel comfortable and confident with their diagnosis.As i waited for the vehicle to be serviced, I noticed how Kyle spoke with other customers in the shop and on the phone. He delt with each customer in an honest and friendly manner. I could tell that he takes pride in his work and the work of the crew at Mike's.Give them an opportunity to earn your business.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

As a mechanic with not enough time on my hands, I trusted Mikes Downtown with my vehicle. Of course I knew what the problem was just didn t have time to tackle it myself. Must say, not only were the techs knowledgeable but the service rider Kyle himself was pretty knowledgeable. Great honest work. Would recommend to all my friends and family in the San Antonio area. Great service thanks Kyle and thanks your Techs as well.

Kyle at Mike's is very kind and conscientious about helping out his customers. I have taken my vehicles here for at least ten years. I have had them do everything from the regular maintenance to the more significant repairs like AC and transmission work. I've even been towed im there late one evening when my vehicle alternator went bad. They have been fair and worked with me, always doing their best to get my vehicle done and out of there and in an agreeable price. I recommend you give mikes a shot, especially for service in the downtown San Antonio area.

I had to have my truck towed to this shop today. I had never been there before but I read the reviews and decided to go with them. I m So glad I did because they provided Great service!! Very fair prices!! Professional!! Honest and kind!! They figured out that it was my fuel pump...They were able to replace it and get me out of there in about 4 hours from the time the tow truck driver dropped me off Thanks so much to the manager Kyle and the Master mechanic and the other mechanics for fixing my truck !!! Great Guys!!

Great Mechanic shop. Everytime i go and drop my car off i fell like its getting the best care and it does. Kyle is a great technician and his team is the best. No issues have i had since i got my car worked on here. Everything they fixed was completely on-point. .

We live in the neighborhood and were very happy to see Mike's Downtown Garage re-open in their new (nearby) location because the other options were not as trustworthy and efficient. We have experienced excellent customer service from Kyle and the crew. They are honest, communicate well, and appreciate their customers. Thanks to Kyle and all the staff!!!

In less than an hour my car was back to normal! My car was misfiring on the way to work that morning and gave Mikes garage a call since they were the closest shop near my work AND the reviews were positive. I explained what was going on and gave me a possible cause. After running a diagnostic, they found the problem and went to work (replaced spark plugs and one coil)What I really appreciated was their quick response and knowledge of the problem and solution. They worked efficiently and confidently.

Great service. Helped a friend change her oil filter because it was stripped from someone trying to take it off and he didn t even charge her. Definitely recommend

Absolutely was stunned to find such exceptional and polite auto service in downtown San Antonio. We pulled in with a flat tire needing quick service to get to the airport. Ken and Crew were able to get us on the road with a patch just as a favor! Really terrific crew! Thank you guys!

I went here bc I had a 2 year plan when I bought my vehicle. Brought it in for an oil change, brake check and radiator flush. Had a smooth transaction but didn t check my vehicle before I left and when I checked later that day I saw there was no coolant in my reservoir no under the cap. Did they forget to put it in? I had to go back the next day and found out they put in the wrong kind of coolant for my vehicle. So they had to reflush the radiator and refill the coolant. They didn t charge for the labor which they shouldn t since it was their mistake that it bubbled out but they charged for the coolant I needed on top of the coolant I already paid for that I wasn t even sure was in the vehicle. So I watched as they redid the vehicle and one mechanic had to show the other how to ensure the bubbles got out? I rechecked my oil and filter to be sure it was changed but looked like it had been. After they were done I asked how much coolant the radiator took and the mechanic said 2 and 1/2 bottles but when I asked for the 1/2 it was completely filled. But luckily I was able to take it with me as I paid for it.I will not be going back here and advise anyone going to recheck and ensure the job they claim to do gets done right.

I took my car in a few months back to get the oil changed. Had a decent experience, it is close to my office so I was able to drop off my car and come back after work. I got the synthetic blend oil change for $20 and thought it was a great deal. I attempted to bring my car in again this morning and they told me that the $20 deal would not work for my car and I had to use the $50 full synthetic. I was extremely concerned because they either put the wrong oil in my car the first time or were trying to take advantage of me and get me to spend more money. Needless to say I did not leave my car there and will no longer use their services. The sad part is that it was the same service manager I dealt with the first time that told me the $20 deal would not work for my car. When I explained to him that I took it to him previously and was concerned that the wrong oil has been in my car for three months he shrugged his shoulders and said we will flush it out. It was absolutely ridiculous and I hope he does not feel that way with all services that they provide. Next time he may shrug his shoulders when they don't put the lug nuts on tight enough.

Quotes are not honest, excessive labor rates, high markup on products you can buy at AutoZone. Not recommended.

My daughter had her battery replaced here 18 months ago. She moved out of the area, and then the battery went bad. Kyle was awesome helping us track down the right information for us to have the battery replaced under warranty. Thanks!Service: BatteryService: Battery

Awesome service. The only mechanic service I could find in the downtown area. AC went out in my car on a trip to San Antonio. They got me in and fixed the same day. Fantastic experience from start to finish.
