Nathan and the folks at Kosub transmission service are awesome!!You always hear stories, especially about transmission repair shops, but this is the second vehicle I have had them fix the transmission on Always 100% transparent, multiple options, and on the latest one even told me about an engine mount that was broken and replaced it at a reasonable price.Highly recommend for any transmission service Awesome people!!!

Gerald, Nathan, and the rest of the team are great. They are not the cheapest in town but, as many know you get what you pay for. My car had a transmission issue that made it pretty much undriveable. He did all the diagnostics he could before tearing it apart to make sure we had the best idea of what the issue was. He spent lots of time doing his internet research to find an unusual issue with my particular transmission. So low and behold he was spot on. He gave me the possible options depending on what was found during the teardown to ensure a quality repair. We did have a little issue with a fluid leak after the repair but he was fair in getting the leak fixed since it was not an issue before the repair work was done. His team had to do a big part of the labor over for some seals/washers to be replaced on a joining part so turning wrenches myself I understood his dilemma. They are an honest shop which is rare to find nowadays and I will happily promote them every chance I get. My car is running nice and smooth again thanks to these fine folks.

I took my 2008 Tundra to them. They did the diagnostics on it and they told me the problem I was having was not with my transmission but with the engine. They could have said my transmission was shot and stuck me with a huge bill but they were honest enough to tell me the truth. I will definitely be back if I ever have problems again.

Gerald is the best! Very hands on with his business and very communicative as well. Him and his crew did a great job on my car. Don't hesitate to get your transmission repaired by them. They will get you right!

Scam!!! Be aware of wrong diagnostic!!!We took our Ford F-150 08 to get a diagnostic because a general mechanic referred us to this place to get a new/repair transmission. We dropped the truck to get Diagnostic on Wednesday and didn t get a call until Monday, saying that there was nothing wrong with the transmission only that it had excess fluid and that the real problem was the Engine and they gave us some codes . Therefore, THEY referred us to a very prestigious shop in the north side to get the Engine problem fixed. However, when this guys at the referred shop actually drove and tested the truck sweared that it was the transmission that needed repairs. They even tested the engine and there s nothing wrong with it. Anyways, we opted for repairs for the transmission and boom problem fixed. This guys only took our $100 for NOTHING!!!! Gave us a wrongful diagnostic! If they were super busy and they didn t want to take in the vehicle they could have just say that instead of taking our money and wasting our time. I wish they offered at least a refund of our money.

Professional and courteous! Took my 2011 Silverado with 205k miles in for a transmission rebuild and I couldn't be happier. It's a stressful time but they make it as easy as possible. Everything was explained up front, including pricing and warranty, and made the process very smooth. Highly recommended if you want it done right the first time!

I first met Gerald Kosub in 2001 when I took my 95 Dodge Ram for transmission work. My first impression of Gerald was that he was a man of honesty and integrity. I later met his wife Donna and son Nathan, who proved to be the same. I now live in Kerrville and continue to take my vehicles in for service to Gerald. I have no problem traveling that far to get the kind of quality service that I get here. Good honest work is hard to come by these days, so I m not changing what has worked well for me for over 21years!Service: Transmission

Took our new(ish) vehicle in to see if it had a transmission leak. They kept us thoroughly updated with what they did and saw and we thankfully got our vehicle back with no issues. Better safe than sorry right! Anf the woman at the front desk was very nice and personable. It's always nice to know there is a quality (and honest) owned transmission shop close by.

Very positive experience ... They informed me how many vehicles were ahead of our Dodge Avenger before we dropped it off, this information helped with setting a time frame of when they might be getiing back to us with an update . Service was completed in a timely manner. We had a concern the following day and they were quick to respond and offered to ride along with us if the concern persisted.Service: Transmission

We took our 2014 Expedition to Kosub due to some transmission problems. That car has a "sealed" transmission, you cannot check fluid levels, etc, it is also a very expensive transmission so we were not looking forward to repair cost. The folks at Kosub found nothing wrong with the transmission but did find some wiring which controls it lost insulation and seperated, was repaired by replacing some of the wiring. The owner, Gerald called and informed us and the repair cost was 1/8 of a new transmission cost. Best shop I have been associated with, clean, outstanding technicians and HONEST!! I highly recommend this business, great reputation and well deserved.

Many years ago I asked an elderly friend if he knew of an honest transmission shop. He was right. Gerald Kosub is the only honest transmission guy from my experience. He is not the cheapest but, he is the best and he stands behind his work. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I cannot express how greatly I am to have found this place. Nathan was awesome. I was told upfront my estimated cost to fix my vehicle. Most places I researched could not give me any additional info unless they looked at my vehicle. There were other issues that was found and resolved that was never addressed by a general mechanic that I used for years. This could have put me into a serious situation but they took care of it and it did not go too much outside of the budget. I love the warmth and honesty. Thank you again. PS.....The work was completed earlier than expected.

Great people and great service. Gerald built me a stout 68RFE for my tuned Cummins. Had a few hiccups(my fault for not ordering a billet input shaft the first time) , but Gerald got me back on the road.

Great stand up transmission shop. They repaired my 2004 Tacoma transmission. They answered all my questions before hand and did not try to trick me into unneeded service like other shops. Very polite and respectful of my time. A few months after, I thought I was having transmission problems again. I spoke with Mr. Kosub himself, he said bring it in and we'll have a look at it. Shortly after he called back to tell me they did not have a transmission issue but something wrong with my engine. He did not try to sell me unwanted nonsense, again very honest, fair pricing and good turn around time with the repair. Thank You. Although I would never want to have to visit the shop for service again, haha, I know where I will go if I need transmission service again. Thank You!

Always a great experience! Have been taking our vehicles here for a few years now and they are always open/honest about costs, other details, and estimated mileage between services based on your driving conditions and specific vehicle.Look forward to working with them for years to come!

I had spent a lot of money trying to get my transmission fixed at 3 other shops, that could not Chase the problem down, an almost 2 years of not being able to use my truck, when I took my truck here, they had my truck up and running in a day and a very low cost. That was several months ago. My Ram 3500 is still running strong with no issues. They obviously have experience and they were a great bunch of folks to deal with.

Called Kosub because my transmission was shifting hard both up/down when at operating temp. They pretty much diagnosed my issue over the phone already just by experience alone and knowledge of what each manufacturer vehicles tend to do. Scheduled an appt, and once they got it on the lift, they confirmed what they already knew. Fixed on the same day and took it home! I have to give a big thank you Kosubs. After a couple months of transmission problems and multiple shops they took the time to diagnose my problem. I had a single broken wire inside my wire harness that frayed causing all the issues. I was prepared to install a new transmission thank you so much!

Great Service, went in at 8:00 am, they had the transmission flushed and ready to go at 9:00 am. Definitely will go again and take my other vehicles to them.Front office very honest and informative on the actual work that takes place when removing and adding New additives of transmission fluid to my 2012 Toyota Camry.Highly recommend,,,,,

My experience with Gerald and his team was beyond my best expectations. We had a Dodge 3500 diesel in for service, he explained the issues and gave us a very fair estimate for cost. He went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right. Now I understand why he has so much business. This is the only transmission service center I will ever use in Texas.Everyone within Kossub Transmission Service plays an important role in honesty, quality of work, and customer satisfaction.It is a family business that has been around for decades, and you will not find a more reputable transmission service center within Texas.

Received nothing but the best professional service and updates from start to finish which was a little difficult not living in the same city as Kosub's. Transmission went out while on the road, left on the side of the road, to knowing that my truck was in excellent care. When I first walked in to the facility just looking at how clean and organized the shop was is a real testament the attention put in to the work performed.
