I have to give some feedback on this station last week because it's needed for others. The cost of an inspection is $7.50 as is posted everywhere. I've had a few oil change places even do it for free. As other reviewers have said, the price you are charged here is more like $20. The price on the official TX DPS receipt is $7.50 but the payment receipt you pay is $20. This seems like a deceptive practice, and is not a fair price for a 9 minute inspection. I will say the guy there seemed like a nice guy, hence the 2 stars. I recommend calling and confirming your inspection cost will be $7.50 before going here or anywhere else.

Went to get my car inspected and before anything was done they told me it would be $7 for the inspection and an additional $6.50 for "car maintenance fee". Pretty sure this is an illegal scam. So I went to Valvoline on Bitters and they had me out in 20 minutes for $7. Be smarter and go somewhere else. Don't get scammed!!!!

$20 - quick and efficient. Not friendly and probably not the best deal in town, but it gets the job done.

I was waiting in line & the car ahead of me didn't have proof of insurance. I pulled right in & was able to get mt FJ inspected so I could go downtown to pick up my new personalized license plates! Yay!

Got off work early to get an inspection around 430 because they say they will close at 5 online and come to find out they were closed when I arrived 15 till. Find yourself another reliable place that is actually open.

Excellent customer service Kyle was fantastic. The $20 fee is for convenience. When you buy food at a gas station you pay more than you would at Walmart, so think of it that way. It was nice to be in and out in under eight minutes.

Closed at 2:50 pm on s Wednesday. Sign says it should be open at this day/hour. No sign saying closed. But no sign on side that says "3 Due Now". If it's closed then the web site should be updated.

I went by today at 2PM, within the hours posted at the location, and they were closed. I've driven past other days during their open hours and they've also been closed. I asked a man working at a nearby business whether they were ever open and he said not that he'd seen in quite some time.

They'd have to be open for me to give a review based on their actual service. Came during business hours, nobody here. Neighboring business said they're never open. He rarely sees someone there.

Tried to charge me around $125 for inspection and doing the registration for me. It's $85 for registration and $7 for inspection. Crooks. Firestone is $7 and online it costs me $85 as it should be. Still got me for a "shop fee". Last business from me ever.

not open. i stopped by at 10:00 today and the doors were closed. i drove to 3 other locations and they were all closed. the only one that was open was on heubner rd and they told me i couldn't use the insurance card that was on my ipad. I know this isnt true. Seems like this business doesnt want to be open.

Don't waste your time, go to a oil change place. This "official" station is borderline a scam. Should cost $7, instead $20. Apparently an optional $6.50 "OIS Fee", but that was not transparent. Expect more from a state sanctioned business for a state mandated inspection.

This location appears permanently closed. Went by today and it was locked-up. Business signs indicated that it should have been open. This location was usually pretty good - I've been here many times along with the location on Austin Hwy (also closed). Now I have to find a new inspection station.

After trying to get my car inspected at 3 different places who said their inspection systems were down, I went to "Due Now" because they were open and there were only 2 cars in line in front of me. When my turn came, I drove into the building and presented my insurance card. The inspector (who was friendly and nice, but very unprofessionally dressed - like he had just cleaned out a dirty storage shed) tapped some info into a tablet, asked for my odometer reading, then presented the tablet for my initials. He did not check lights, horn, wipers, or anything else required by Texas inspection. After I finished with the tablet, he told me the fee was $20. I questioned the fee breakdown: $7 for Texas state inspection, $6.50 "shop fee" and $6.50 "OIS service." When questioned, he admitted the OIS service was optional - it was to cover periodic maintenance checks such as tire pressure, wiper fluid refill, etc. I opted out of this fee. He explained that the $6.50 "shop fee" was to help cover his expenses for equipment the state required for him to conduct inspections. Okay, I get that - this is his only service (he doesn't do oil changes or sell tires). But .... he did NOT inspect anything on my car except the VIN and the license tag. So if you have something wrong with your car that normally wouldn't pass inspection, take it here. You will probably get a passing inspection report.

Worst place ever! And they charge shop fees that make no sense. Save your money, just spend the 7.00 somewhere else. Thank me later!

The man that works there tore my windshield wiper blades, he yanked on the rubber. I heard it tear. He still did this with me 15 from him. Very bold, disrespectful, and criminal.On the bright side he saw me watching him right after he tore through the rubber on my second wiper blade- so I passed the inspection and didn t have to give him money for the evil deed he did.Does he get paid for selling wiper blades? I must not be the first person he did this to. Do they require background checks and drug tests to work here?Welcome to Texas.Edit: this occurred March 2019

This place is literally never open. Tried to stop by on my way home from work a couple of times and they were closed. Went today around 1PM and they were closed. I figured maybe they were on lunch and I had some errands to do in the area, so I left. Maybe an hour later, I headed back over and they were still closed. Super unreliable.

Smoothest inspection ever been through. Went off peak time and was 2nd car in line. In an out less than 30 minutes. Highly recommend.

Came a half hour before closing, already closed for the day. So, I came the next morning before work and they're supposed to be open but they weren't. Seen the guy go in but never opened, waited for 15 mins.

I've been coming to this place for years. I guess they've closed. Today around 4PM al garage doors were closed and door was locked. No sign other than the hours (open Saturday till 6:00) and a phone number for more information. No one answered that number. Is it so hard to post a notice?

Definitely doesn't adhere to it's hours of operation. I'm here at 9am and definitely not open, after being told yesterday to come back tomorrow morning because their machine was down.

Went around the lunch hour on a weekday and they were closed with NO sign indicating that they would be back after lunch or closed for the day. Me and two behind me left and I'm glad because I paid only the $7 for the inspection at a nearby oil change place instead of their charge.

Called to check in wait and confirm hours. No one picked up, but I figured I'd go by as it's on my way home. Arrived at 5 only to find the shop was closed.

I have yet to see this place open. I ve been stopping by at different times and no one is here. It s very unprofessional. Whoever runs it should be fired!

The shop is supposed to be open at 8:00 a.m. No one showed up after 1 hour wait. There were 4 other cars waiting in line. Do not use this place.
