My car had been purchased pre damaged but running fine until it wasn't. When I started getting quotes Amos was the only one willing to come see my car in person, everyone else wanted me to drive it to them but that wasn't possible. So Amos & 1st Choice was the one I went with. While repairs took longer than anticipated (about a month longer than they originally thought) and I didn't get many updates without calling (I understood they were busy but would have appreciated more communication), when I did get my car back it was well worth the wait. It's not 100% perfect brand new but it sure looks at and now I have a working ac in my car for the first time since I got it. I used to hate my car but now I love it and can't thank Amos and his team enough!! Pics of before and after.Services: Painting, Body & Trim, Air conditioning

Amos and his team are people I can trust with my auto repairs. They kept me informed, and explained what repairs needed and were fair and reasonable. I will considered them for future repairs.

Amos is just an all around great guy and I could not be happier with the end result. After being in an accident I surely thought my vehicle was going to totaled out. Amos spent a lot of his own time battling it out with my insurance company and even got me a great price for an upgrade to my bumper that I wanted. Will def be using them again in the future for more grades!!!! Before and after picks!!!

Highly recommend 1st choice collision and automotive repair. First time customer here. They had great reviews and I happened to share my unusual first name with the owner, so I thought why the heck not. What will keep me coming back is the great service that Amos and Pat provided. They even offered to drop off my car when I was unable to pick it up. Excellent customer service! Thanks guys!

The guys at 1st Choice are like no other!!! They truly made me feel comfortable took care of everything!!! I had my poor car 1 1/2 months before someone hit me... The whole Alcala family is some of the best people you could ever hope to meet!!! My car is in perfect condition again thanks to 1st Choice!!!

We were on family trip when our AC compressor went out on explorer. Was referred to them by hotel manager. Great customer service and communication. They were able to locate part and replace compressor the next day. Saved us from 105 degree heat on the 18 hour trip back home.

First choice is hands down one of the best shop experiences I ve had here in San Antonio. Amus and his team are very professional and respectful. I want to put my review out there for anyone thinking of sending your vehicle here. My family was in an accident 6 months ago we thought it was a good idea sending our vehicle here for repairs and 10,000 in repairs. The car needs a lot of work that the shop said they could take on. After having trouble contacting the shop specifically the owner of this place (Amus), getting the run around and receiving false information on the status of our vehicle we finally removed the vehicle from the shop it took 6 months for them to basically do nothing. Our vehicle is now at a new location and they pointed out about 18 parts on the vehicle that were meant to be replaced and instead were cheaply repaired and even some parts completely missing.The car over all does not start or drive and looks like complete trash. We re very disappointed in the owners of this place our vehicle looks like it has about 2,000 in repairs when they received 10,000.Service: Body & Trim

Amos and his brother are outstanding people and do fantastic work. They fixed the rear bumper on my Altima quickly and courteously and best of all they finished on time. I am really impressed! They will DEFINITELY be my 1st Choice if I need them in the future! May they be blessed always.

After researching to find the best place to fix my truck, I ran across this company. I spoke with Amos and he gave me and my husband the best price for the work to fix my right CV joint and my front bumper. He was fair and straight forward. The time he said they would be finish was on time. I truly appreciate him and his staff for the amazing work and time they put into fixing my truck for me. I shall be returning for any other issues. I was referred to Amos and his brothers from a friend. I was in need of getting my seat reupholstered and she said they did amazing work for a more than fair price. I took them my truck and they got it back to me in no time! The seats looked great and the price was unbeatable. I have taken my truck back since to have minor cosmetic work done and I couldn't be happier. I've referred several friends to 1st Choice and they have all been highly satisfied. Thanks Amos and thanks to your brothers for doing amazing work and being great people overall! I'll see you soon for some more auto needs.

I would never recommend going to this mechanic. completely unprofessional. They had my car for 9 months because they could not tell me anything about it. My head gaskets blew out and Jacob told me it would take 2 weeks to finish, we paid up front and got no updates or any information about it after that. I had to send my mom multiple times, my dad had to come see what they were doing, and they re answer was always next week . After bugging them enough i finally got my car back today. My hatchback is broken, it no longer stays up by itself. The knob to adjust my side mirrors was pulled off and is broken, I came in with a full tank of gas and am left with less than half. they put over 600 miles on my car. and they stole my sound system from the back. there s already a hole in one of my hoses, and it s missing screws.UPDATE: I had someone else look at my car and they didn t do anything to it. They just put it back together instead of putting in any new parts. They said everything was completely brand new and actually nothing was replaced at all! A waste of 1500 and a hassle. I had even asked them before they did any work on it to tell me if it was worth fixing or not and if it wasn t i was going to purchase a new car. Well they lied and now i have the same car that had the same problems when i took it in October 2020.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I cannot say enough about 1st Choice Collision and Automative Repair. They are phenomenal workers and the service provided always exceeds my expectations . They are extremely knowledgeable, will take care of your vehicle as their own, and treat you like family. I ve had all four of my family s vehicles in for either paint, body work or mechanical service. Two most recently for hail damage and before that my son s 4Runner for body work and paint. The service has been exceptional and the work done exceeded my expectations.I was always informed of my options with cost estimates before any work was started. I was so relieved to find a trust worthy business to work on my car. They fixed an oil pan that another place that completely took advantage of me for over a year. I also took it back for multiple things and every experience was beyond my expectations. Always professional and they even wash my car before I picked it up!! I am so happy 1st choice collision & Auto repair was referred to me. These guys are the best at what they do and more than anything , I can trust them. As a single mom I get things taken care of on my own. I love that I found a place that I can bring my car to for anything from an oil change to body work. These guys do it all and are super honest. They explain everything to me and always try to find me the best prices on anything I need. I refer any one I know to them now and would never go any where else.

So helpful and to the point. Excited to work with them....a day later and soooo happy we found a place we trust and can depend on. Changed the fuel pump in a short time frame and now we are back on the road, no issues!!!! Thank you! Will be back again soon to get more work done. We are new to San Antonio but we are proud to say that 1st Choice Collision & repair is our mechanic!!!!

My car was making a weird noise & as a female who doesn't know about cars I was obviously worried, they were recommended by a family friend and as soon as I walked in they were polite and went over what was possibly wrong and we got it fixed! They even do oil changes so I highly recommend them for all your car needs :)

The name says it all, This is truly the 1st and last body shop you will ever goto. From mechanical to body work and even custom paint jobs and non insurance jobs they do it all and is truly a one stop shop for all of your needs. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. Fast and friendly service.

I car did a hit and run on my parked car while I was at work and Amos helped me get into a rental and to get my car fixed as fast as possible. His guys did an awesome job on my car, I highly recommend!
