I called them and spoke with Brandon. He gave all the information and mentioned they finance, that caught my attention being that at this moment I'm financially not able to fix. Next day I called again and spoke with Brandon again. I asked him if they where in house financing, he Said yes and said they do not do credit checks. This was perfect for me being I have average credit. This is what made my mind up to go with them so asked them to pick up my car, they did. Next day the called me to tell me it's definitely transmission, but they needed to go deeper into the problem to see how much it will cost. Told to hold on that I wanted to do in house finance, his reply was it's not in house it's thru band, this sadden me cause I knew I would not pass the credit, so I could not get it fixed. So I had to pay 125.00 for towing to get my car back. Was very disappointed with receiving the wrong info just to get me in there shop.

I have dealt with auto shops for many things over the years. But, nothing compared to doing business with A Best Tranmission. They are extremely professional and very honest. It turned out I didnt need any repairs to the Transmission. The Mechanic was complely honest with me about it and didnt even charge me for the diagnostic!!!! Who does that in 2021? They also offer free towning if you get the work done at thier shop. If you decide not to get the work done, it is a small charge for the towing. I CAN'T SAY IT LOUD ENOUGH.... I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE. BEST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Services: Transmission, Exhaust

Had my vehicle inspected by dealer. They diagnosed what needed repaired, the cost was way too high, go figure stealerships....saw add first A best transmission on the free towing and diagnostic. Called and explained what I had already done. I asked about the free towing and they did acknowledge this. Had the car picked up. They called and said no code found as with the dealer. As I told them. They said they needed to tear down the transmission????. I did not agree to this because it was already done by dealer. They refused to repair the part I asked to fix. Then said It was $75.00 first towing. So, not free unless you agree to repairs, which I'm sure they add to the final bill anyway. If they hide this cost, what's to say they dont hide other costs...DONT TRUST THEM!!!!

So like most, I don't know too much about cars. I had a problem where my old classic (Automatic transmission) wouldn't shift until very high speeds. I took it to A-Best (ONLY because of their google rating) and explained to them the problem and asked for their free pan-drop check. After that, they convinced me that to know more I need to pay $189 for a diagnostics. They call back a couple days later saying the transmission is shot and will cost $1800 to repair. I explain I'm a broke college student and can't pay and will need to come by to pick it up. They call back a short time later asking if $1200 was more my price range. This is when red flags went up for me. a $600 drop in price? Just to "work with me"? No no, something is fishy here. After a pain in the behind phone tag session with A Best Transmission, I finally get my car back and manage to get it to Austin, TX (hometown). I ask around for transmission shop references and eventually settle on Ike's Transmission. I kid you not, 10 minutes later, and at $0 cost to ME, my car is running smoother than ever. The problem? Two simple vacuum leaks that Ike recognized as soon as I pulled up and popped the hood.DO NOT LET THESE GOOGLE RATINGS FOOL YOU!After I realized these guys were trying to screw me, I started reading the reviews google publishes. A good number of these 5 star ratings are published by the owners themselves advertising their great service, but I assure you it is to simply bump that eye-catching google rating. After recognizing this I see how deceiving these folks are. There has to be an honest shop in San Antonio, do not go with A Best. My experience dictates that if they think you don't know cars, they'll take advantage of you.

I am new in San Antonio and was having transmission problems with my BMW 325I transmission. I really didn't know who to call. But a friend from work had recommended that I call Tony at A BestTransmsion Repair. After doing alittle research on the Internet. I quickly found out that they were one of the better transmission shops to call as far as BMW transmission mechanics. I am real picky when taking my car into a auto repair shop that works on BMWs because you don't really know what shop to trust. I felt very comfortable talking to Liz who quickly helped me out and set up a free tow which I also thought was great! I think the price was more than reasonable and the quality of work they did was good. I want to put a shout out to my guys over at A Best Transmissions. Exceptional work!! Rubie Dodson

A Best Transmissions one of the best transmissions repair shops in SA. They have worked on my work trucks for years. I take all my truck there because i know i can trust them and they give me a really good price. I just wanna say thank you for all your hard work and you guys always get me back on the road ASAP!

So, their website says that they are open 24-hours. I called and "Tony," answered. I then proceeded to explain the issue with my vehicle and sadly, while I was explaining he hung up. I know that he hung up because when I called back there was no answer and then the voice-mail picked up...really could've just declined instead of hanging up on a prospective customer.

Knowledgable and courteous. Straight forward about everything. And quick when it comes to getting the job done and paid. Offer a decent warranty on transmission rebuilds. But help with advice and reliable work. If i need another trans rebuilt ill go back.

thanks again Brandon for a job well done! if you need your transmission rebuilt.. don't call the dealer..or a franchise..save yourself the trouble and call Brandon at A-Best..im glad I did!

Very nice people. Gave me great advice on Auto AC Repairs and they didn't even do the work! Honest Friendly people who treat you fairly....What more could you want when it comes to auto repairs.
