Do NOT take your vehicle here!! They may be able to do things like replacing a windshield wiper, or air up a tire properly, but if it's anything more complicated than that, I would stay far away. We took our teen's car in Nov '23 to finally get a head gasket fixed that we had put off for about a year, because the owner told us it would be fine for the time being, as long as we didn't mind oil dripping in our driveway. The car was fine, we just made sure there was always oil in it, but there wasn't more than just a drip. Our daughter is going off to college in Aug, so we figured it was time to go ahead and get it done. We get the car back and he says it will drip oil for 2-3 weeks as it burns off what had already come out and gotten on the motor. After a month, it was STILL dripping, so we take it back. He says they missed something and would get it fixed, no charge. Get it back again, STILL leaking oil. Try driving it for a couple of weeks and notice that the leak has actually gotten worse than when we took it in to begin with, at one point all the oil had leaked out without us realizing and put the car in to engine save mode, where it wouldn't go higher than 20 mph. Took it back again. Said they had it all sealed up. Got it back STILL leaking oil. Called again and they said to bring it back. 4th time's the charm right? Nope. After keeping it over a week, so they could "really figure out the problem", we had to call to find out what was going on with it because we hadn't heard anything. They say, oh it's done and they are pretty certain they got it all. They had driven it around pretty hard and nothing was leaking. So we go pick it up and as soon as we are in the driveway, you can see smoke coming from under the hood and low and behold, oil dripping all over underneath. That was it, we decided to finally let someone else look at it and guess what, the head gasket is cracked. So now we will be paying thousands of dollars to fix what this mechanic was SUPPOSED to fix in the first place, and whatever other mess they made of it. New mechanic said there was just silicone everywhere, and nothing actually fixed. Do not trust these people with your vehicles, and if you do, don't say I didn't warn you!

After visiting another place in town with AC troubles, I wanted a second opinion before spending $1400. Turns out the problem was very small and cost just $30. Super friendly, informative, and won t try to scam you.Service: Air conditioningService: Air conditioning

Jess is an awesome person, as well as his son and the crew. My dad and uncles always went to him when I was growing up, and now I am a loyal customer just the same. They always told me Jess is the one guy in town that will genuinely take care of you and not rake you over the coals. I've been going for the last 10 years and have the same to say and more. I'm glad his son is in on the business so that it can keep running the way the best auto shop in town should! Just picked up my truck today and it was a good reminder why I will always go to him. Got everything I needed done, filled me in on the situation (I'm garbage when it comes to anything under the hood) and gave me a price that was honest for the work done. I can't say enough good things about them!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

This is, by far, the best mechanic shop in town. Jess is the most honest, understanding, easiest going business man I have ever had the privilege of knowing in my ENTIRE life. He is always busy, backed-up, and cannot get to things in the time he would like. Does anyone wonder why that is? Because he is THE BEST! He has the hardest working staff in the area and does not mislead you in any way. I love this man!

These people are the best. They are honest, Christian, fun & willing to work with you on what time you can get there. I would give them more than 5 star if I could. They make you feel like you are very important. We have dealt with them for a few years now & will continue!!

Took my 92 Chevy in for a clutch replacement. Was asked to take it in on 06/28/18. These arrangements were made on 06/20. I supplied all the parts since the clutch is under lifetime warranty. I left instructions to call me as soon as the clutch was out so I could run it to the parts store and exchange it. I received no call, so I called on 06/29 and was told that they were extremely busy and had not yet put it on the lift. But Jess said, "We're sorry for the delay and we will make it worth your wait". I said, "no problem". I waited for a call on Monday that never came. I thought "surely it will be early tomorrow morning so they can finish it before the day is over", since Wednesday was a holiday. On Tuesday, I went by before noon and was told that a lift had just come open and the mechanic would get started on it right away. Again I was told that "we'll make it worth your while because of the delay". The mechanic told me it would take "an hour" to remove the transmission. I waited all afternoon. The call finally came at 4:30 I went to the shop, and retrieved the clutch, took it in, exchanged it, and returned with the new one in less than half an hour. I knew there was no way they could put it back together that day, so I resigned myself to wait again. On my way out, I was told again, "we are sorry that you had to wait so long. We will make it worth your while". On Thursday 07/05, I got a call at 4:36 PM that my truck was ready; exactly a week later! I went in to settle my bill expecting that I would be paying less than the $550 quoted for what should have been a one-day job since an appointment had been made well in advance and both parties were in agreement. The bill was presented to me as quoted! When I asked about the delay, I was told that the job should have been quoted higher, so I was getting a break. I hope the job was done right, but only time will tell; because I do not ever want to deal with this shop again. Double -dealing is repugnant and underhanded. This was my experience with Jess at this shop.Update on 01/22/20My throw-out bearing is seizing up because no anti-seize lubricant was applied to the transmission input shaft when the clutch assembly was replaced. I will now have to pay to get the work done all over again. This clutch assembly should have lasted a lot longer than one and a half years.

I took my car in because I felt it grab & tug hard to the right every time I tapped the brakes. the guys were kind and courteous as well as prompt to schedule me in, however upon picking my vehicle up and driving home - I felt the same issue. the mechanic that worked on my car advised me to have it aligned in order for it to stop - being that it was necessary after having work done. cool, not a problem - yet, it was a major problem. it could not be aligned because the issue i was having wasn't taken care of...when I called and mentioned it, I was told by the mechanic that he changed out what they thought was the problem at hand but he wasn't a front end fan and could only do so much, however he would attempt to finish the work if I wanted him to. hmmm, hold on - if you couldn't complete it the first time because you weren't sure how to, why would you work on my car!...no thanks, I took it elsewhere and paid alot less than originally with full warranty and the job was done completely and correctly...I won't be making that mistake again!...

An honest mechanic. That by itself is impressive. These people sincerely care about the customers. It's a family business (or at least seems like it). The voicemail message is changed frequently and always fun to listen to, even if the inbox is always full. When they do answer the phone, they're straight with you about what they can and can't do (eg: no transmission, no body work), and give you a good estimate about how long it will take. Be prepared for a long wait just to get your car in, because this place's reputation gets them a lot of business. If it's not done right the first time, bring it back and they'll fix it for no charge, and bump you to the head of the line to do it.The hours posted are just their official hours; they're frequently there LATE, as in 8-9pm. Anything to get the job done and done right.I only had one thing fixed, and no idea what it should cost (given how unusual the problem was), so I can't include an assessment of prices.Overall, these people have a well-deserved reputation. If you really can't wait, they'll refer you to another place in town. So far, I've twice gotten referrals to Gray's Transmission on Pulliam. But if you DO get your car fixed here, you can count on quality and integrity.

I think we're 5 stars. But I don't count i'v worked there 27 years .But I wouldn't work for anyone that long if they were thief's. And we may be a little bit slow and backed up but usually get the job done no matter how much it costs us! Because we stand behind our work!

I want to thank JB. My car broke down and it cost $400 to fix it. However everyone wanted me to buy a $600 part and then labor. I got the part from Leroy Clark at Clark's Wrecking Yard.Leroy is my cousin and someone I trust completely. I insisted that they called him for the tow. So I made out on getting my Lincoln 2007 MKXRepaired. JB's was great and very kind. I appreciate him a lot!

J B Automotive is a place I will highly recommend for their technical capability, their courtesy, and their willingness to help in an emergency. Our Chevy pickup lost a valve lifter while traveling to San Angelo from Lubbock. We were stuck in San Angelo and J B Automotive was recommended to us by another shop and Jess and his crew found the problem and fixed the valve lifter and burnt valve in a short period of time. I recommend this shop to anyone, they were straight forward with us in explaining the problem and provided excellent service. Thank you J B Automotive.

I have been going to JB Automotive for many years and wouldn't go anywhere else! If it's not broke, they won't fix it - but if it is broke, they will fix it and fix it right.A good place to go for your cars "healthcare"...

Don't know how the service is. Can't get through on the phone. And the wife left a voicemail so shrill and long that I don't want to sit and listen to it just to get a call back on the price.
