My name is Aaron Peterson. I took my 2012 Toyota Camry to Garmon Auto a few months ago and I am finally getting around to leaving this review. After taking my car in and speaking with Mr. Humberto Garcia the owner, I felt comfortable having Garmon perform the necessary repairs on my car. Mr. Garcia seemed very knowledgeable about transmissions and cars in general. The reviews looked good. I do not dispute his expertise in automotive knowledge, however the customer service experience I received here was horrendous to say the least. I called after a few days of my car being here and not hearing anything back. Mr. Garcia told me they are still "diagnosing" the problem and it may possibly be this and that, but wasn't certain and stated he would give me a call the next day. I waited a few business days, in consideration that I did not want to be a bother or annoyance, and called again. Mr. Garcia informed me again of the "possibility" of what "could be wrong" with the car but they are still looking into it. At this point I became suspicious that my car hadn't even been looked at but gave Mr. Garcia the benefit of the doubt in that he was busy and my car had some more in depth issues that needed to be looked into further. At this point I should have personally went to get my car which is my mistake. I again waited all week, from Mon. until the end of business day on Friday but no contact. I called that Friday and Mr. Garcia proceeded to tell me that I will need a rebuilt transmission. He went over the process this entails and what exactly would be done. I was given a price range which again was a red flag but thought there may be other issues they'll encounter. **Get an out the door price from your mechanic to which you agree to and ask for it in writing or email**. This time I waited a week since this was considered an extensive repair. Again no contact. I called and Mr. Garcia informed me that they were waiting on a part to come in that needed to be ordered. I foolishly took his word for it and again waited a few days with no contact. I called and was told the part still had not come in and he told me he'd check on it and get back to me. No call of course. After about a month of calls, I personally went to the shop and noticed my car was STILL parked in the exact same spot it was when I left it there. Also my car had no additional miles or fraction of miles on it which clearly indicates it was never taken for a test drive to diagnose the problem. HE NEVER LOOKED AT MY CAR! Everything I was told were lies and stall tactics. At this time I took my car to another shop. It's evident Mr. Garcia is busy and overloaded with work. But if he couldn't or didn't want to take the job, he should have been up front and honest with me. He lost my business either way but now it was in a bad situation. I would have respected him telling me that he was backed up and wasn't going to be able to look at my car anytime soon. I recommend that you DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, take your car to this shop. There is continuous dishonesty and lack of communication. You have been warned.

My transmission went out on the road over the weekend, I called every place in town and they either wouldn't get back to me or quoted me double what I ended up paying here. They got the transmission replaced in one day and got me back on the road. Fantastic honest people who explain the job very well and stuck to their original quote and are always trying to do their best for the customer. Their workers offered me lunch and water while I waited, can't recommend them enough.

Had the transmission on my wife's truck replaced here. The shop found evidence of damage with the first transmission I purchased and informed me instead of just installing the unit. I got a replacement unit. The work was done quickly. The pricing for the work was fair! We test drove the vehicle and Umberto was very knowledgeable. I will come back for future repairs. The transmission on my vehicle went out and I got a rebuilt one put in. The rebuilt one kept messing up, and I kept having some sort of malfunction. I kept having to take it in and get it fixed a and looked at. Many times it would stop acting up after I took it home for a about a month it would start driving funky again. Now I'm left disappointed with a broken down vehicle. I spent two months trying to get my vehicle brought in and I just got the runaround. I would just not recommend throwing a bunch of money for rebuilt transmissions, because the quality of rebuilt parts is just not there since the pandemic.Service: Transmission

My family and myself have been using this shop for all my car needs. Humberto is a very honest and knowledgeable mechanic, rare these days. He was on time and very thorough. He educated me on what my old brakes looked like and what they re supposed to look like. Our transmission went out and had our car at another shop initially but after receiving the estimate to replace it, I began to shop around. Found Humberto's shop online and the great reviews and called him. We are very pleased with not only the work done and that we saved a little money but his customer service has really been impressive as well. He took the time to do a test drive with us when we picked it up, instructed us to bring it back in a few weeks just to have them double check everything and also when we needed to do a transmission flush. It's been a couple of months now and he again just textd me to see if we were still happy. I really have no complaints. We will take our vehicles to him for anything transmission related.Service: Transmission

I took my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid in for a transmission mount change. They got the work done quickly for a very reasonable price. They allowed me supply my own part, which not all shops will do, a lot of them want to upcharge you to make you use their part. I also received a courtesy ride back home to wait after I dropped my car off. And Humberto gave me a thorough explanation of the work done and made sure I understood. All in all, great experience, would use them again and would definitely recommend.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Avoid this shop at all costs. I took my car here and was told they checked all the wiring and components and that I had some bad electrical internals and I would need to make costly replacements. I agreed to the first set and was told after that the problem was not fixed and told more would be needed. I decided I didn t feel comfortable as I was never getting calls back and wishy washy answers to my questions. I told them to put the car back as it was and said I would be taking my car. I brought it to the dealership and they said that an animal had chewed a few wires and they could have me up and running in a few hours. It s clear they never even looked at the problem or attempted to properly diagnose what was wrong and just wanted to stall and/or get me to spend thousands on a problem I didn t even have.Service: Transmission

Horrible experience. I don't recommend this place to anyone I had transmission work done and I had to take it back to him 3 times. This company does not have the experience and charges way to much for work they don't have a clue on how to do. Also, while my vehicle was on there property one of my doors got damaged. This company has no respect for your expensive transportation. If I had a choice to give this company no stars, that would have been myoption!

I've got a Pontiac with >100 thousand miles on it and it's always been a pain to take it into the shop for the latest surprise. This guy makes it a whole lot less of a pain than it usually is. He's fast, he's friendly, he's very open about answering questions about the extent of the repair and what he can do, and I haven't had any issues with the minor repairs he's done so far. Prices are very reasonable as well.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My wife car must change the new transmission, and he really done very good job for her. so I suggest you should use his service and he is really professional and will sit and explain to you and then you will understnad what happen with your car. and My wife take her car to the dealer for changing the oil, and someon at the dealer has told her that, Oh you got the brand new transmission so we both happy for the service and reasonable price in our budget. thanks

I was in a vulnerable position with limited options to fix my vehicle. I had my vehicle towed there. Roberto was the person I was corresponding with made me feel assured his team could fix anything. His team did just that and they kept a professional dialogue. He was able to work within my budget. I had a very pleasant experience giving the circumstances of having a broken down vehicle.

Very helpful in diagnosis. Informed and fully explained issue with my car and gave reasonable price for work.Received a full tutorial on computer functions within camera in relation to the mechical workings. Highly recommend!

You will not find a better shop for all your automotive needs Humberto knows his stuff and is fair in pricing. Save money and get better service than from the big guys. You will not be disappointed.

I have personally been taking all of my vehicles to Garmon for years. This guy can work on anything. He has put transmissions in my diesel trucks. He has install new radiators in my diesel trucks. This guy's diagnosed many problems over the phone for me to help me when I stuck on the side of the road. Garment has always been there for me when I was in a jam This guy can work on anything. I toke my car there for a light engine and this guy is very friendly and explain he have to check all fuel system lines for leaks etc. I leave my car there and call me next day, he explain he have to change a sensor that cost around 160 and total will be 698...he did it and I pay, few days later engine light is on again, he erase the code but few days later light is on again, then he explain he have to check a bunch of things and I said I come back later...I felt scam when I find out the part is easy to change and maybe you spend 10 min to do it, at this point I doub he change the part, he probably just erase the code and think I'm a money pit he can grab any money from me.Service: Auto engine diagnostic
