I went here to get a state inspection on my motorcycle. It was my first visit. I live very close so the location is convenient. I had called ahead, so they knew I was coming. The inspection was done fast, since my bike is brand new. Another member of the staff chatted me up about my electric motorcycle. Other members ignored me, but they were busy. I mostly felt welcomed.

Motorcycles were fantastic, true American craftsmanship. Love the diverse selection, something for everyone.Talking with the owner was great. Took lots of time to search parts and find what we need. Love that it is a local business to support!

Took my R3 in to get her lowered (I m a 5 4 newbie and tippy tippy tip-toeing it was not doing it for me) and these guys were SO nice and helpful. Part came in fast and work was started and completed same day I brought her in. I can just about flat-foot it now and feel so much more stable. Great people and great work; highly recommend! Thanks, guys!!

Changed the oil on my Vespa no problem! And they even helped me put some circuit vinyl on my bike too. Good people. :)

Had a great experience! Labor was higher, as I expected. Nature of a local small business. Owner Jim is a great guy! It took about a week and a half to two weeks start on my bike. 4 days to finish. Everything running peachy. Thanks again Jim appreciate the information

Long post ahead. If you have had issues with this shop, please file a complaint with the attorney general. It takes less than 10 minutes. As a small business owner myself, I really don t like giving negative reviews. But can t hold my tongue with Jim and his repair shop. I initially took my 2002 Yamaha to Jim on March 8th 2023. I told him I needed new tires, that the stator was bad and I wasn t in a hurry to get the bike back. Little did I know that Jim isn t in a hurry for anything. He spent 30 minutes talking with me and said they would do a 50 point inspection as well and email me with a quote to for all the work. Didn t hear anything from Jim or anyone else at the shop for over 2 months, so I decided to stop by one day and see if they had worked on it. Jim told me he was having trouble with mechanics, but they replaced the rear tire, still waiting on the front tire and stated there was rust in the gas tank. Most likely from my bike sitting outside all day long in the rain at his shop for 2 months. I told him to go ahead and get rid of the rust in the tank and reminded him that the battery wouldn t charge while riding and probably needed a new stator. Still didn t get an estimate or anything about the wonderful 50 point inspection Jim kept mentioning. Another month went by with zero emails, phone calls or texts from the shop. So I stopped in again. Same old same old. Jim was again having mechanic issues and was trying to hire a new mechanic. Said he would get the front tire on sometime that week and my bike would be ready the following week. Still no estimate or communication on what they found with the 50 point inspection . I left and another 3 weeks went by with no communication from the shop, so I called them and spoke with a new guy named BC. BC s claim to fame is that he was hired to turn the shop around, keep the mechanics accountable and get bikes out of the shop quicker. He also stated that they have bikes in the shop that have been there 2-3 years. Obviously, red flags going off everywhere, but what could I do. He said they got rid of the B mechanic and the A team was no working on my bike and they were needing to do a carb job to get it running properly. And my bike was really old, so it takes a lot of time to dial in the carbs and get it jetted properly. Still no estimate or mention of what they found with the 50 point inspection , but he did tell me it would be done next week and that my invoice was a little over $1600. Once again, I told BC about the battery not staying charged and needed a new stator. The next week came and went with no communication from the shop. Finally two and half weeks later I get a phone call from BC and he says good news and bad news, motorcycle is running great, but the battery won t stay charged and needs a new stator. Thanks Sherlock .. I ve told y all this a half dozen times. At this point I was done with them and told them I would be in the following Tuesday to pay the $1600 and pick up my bike. Hang up the phone in frustration. The following day June 30th, 2023 I get a text message from the shop stating my bike was completed and ready for pickup, however the $1600 amount was wrong and my total charge was just under $3000. Again, mind you, I never received any kind of estimate for repair work and only approved new tires, cleaning the rust from the gas tank and replace the stator, which was never done. Confused and frustrated I stopped in the following week to get a print out of all the work that was done to the bike. After waiting for about 15 minutes, Jim was finally able to get his printer working to print out the detailed invoice. I asked Jim point blank several times if he ever gave me an estimate for the work and he skated around that like a seasoned con artist. So long story longer, I told Jim that I would be turning the matter over to my attorney and that I would rather spend $3000 in attorney fees than to pay for the motorcycle. If you have issues with this shop, please file a complaint with Attorney General.

Well after readying about them in the impact community papers I thought I give it a try.Asked if they can replace my tires of my 2008 cruiser but was informed that they don t do that anymore.Whatever that might be. I purchased brand new tires that are stock in the right size, but FP refused on the phone right away without going into detail. So much about serving the community

Wanted to charge me $170 to swap out a tube in an XR650L, and I provided the tube! Office looks like a bomb went off inside. Wouldn't trust these guys to pay attention to detail wrenching on my bike making sure everything is torqued to spec. Guy on the phone told me yeah get it over here right away and I'll get it done before the end of the day.I show up and I'm probably sitting in the office for about a half an hour watching my bike just sit there. I asked for a total multiple times and it takes them several minutes to generate the $170 figure.

My bike would not start so I brought it in to these guys. It took them 5 weeks of saying "we'll start on it next week" but they finally got it fixed. They claimed that it was a dead battery when I have video of the bike having plenty power on it when I dropped it off. They put a $60 battery on the bike and charged me $185for it. And for the labor of replacing the battery they charged me $165. Then they didn't tell me about extra charges of paying with a credit-card. Untrustworthy people who con their customers.

I fully understand their position regarding working on Chinese ATV's. They are hard to work on due to parts ability. I have an Eton Viper 90rcc which is based off the Polaris Predator 90cc which a lot of parts are interchangeable. They did give me great advice which I got it up and running. Bought a complete carb and threw it on and bam... running perfectly. I purchased the carb from a Eton distributor which uses the VIV number to ensure the exact part is ordered.

Don't come here if you're a woman. I got treated like I was an absolute idiot. Also the inside of the office looks like a tornado went through it.

Was charged $980 for them to put on new tires on a Honda Shadow. Took them about 2 1/2 MONTHS to get it done. Worst shop around. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.

I ride an Indian chief dark horse. I didn't think that finding someone to put the tires on my bike would be so difficult. I had pre ordered my tires online which apparently makes no dealer and a majority of mechanics not willing to do the work. Not for these guys. They were more than willing to put on my tires. Really great environment. I was able hang out with the mechanic as he showed me how change the tires, some points on my bike I need watch for future maintenance and even offered to let me borrow tools in order to do work on my own. I highly recommend this shop and will be returning here for any future work. The price is very competitive especially compared to the dealer.

Great group of guys! They were lifesavers for me. I needed a part that no dealerships had and these guys called me back and got me fixed up quick. They made me feel comfortable when coming to the shop. I know I'll do business with them in the future and recommend them to all my friends!

Expensive af.. Took a chance with this shop because they were close to my house and my regular mechanic could not see me because of holidays. They ended charging me $250 for an oil change, 100% over what my regular guy charges. And that was 50% over what they quoted me. And their explanation was "We only use synthetic oil here"...Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

FP are professionals, do quality work & give great customer service. They were so kind to me. I called for my husband (who works long hours) and Bill was patient with me while I read over the notes about my husbands need to find a dyno and get custom mapping done for a used 2008 Interceptor. In addition, he needed to get the tires replaced with a pair he'd purchased online. We were told it'd be no problem! My husband was able to bring the bike in the very next morning and he's so pleased with all the work that was done on the bike! We highly recommend FP

Man I had so much fun learning something new and seeing the great set up they had going on. Jon was a character! I had some work done on my old CB750 and they knew exactly what they were doing. I was really worried to take such an old bike anywhere considering that most places wont even touch an old classic anymore, fortunately these Gents helped me out. During a conversation they told they had 30 years of experience with these types of bike, so that made me feel very comfortable. The prices were good and the work was great. I will not go anywhere else to service my bike because i know i will be in good hands. Very honest folks that will put it to you straight.

Jim the owner is a real stand up guy. Tim and Mike are his techs are pretty nice and polite. More importantly their quality of work is very good. Jim stuck around late one night so I could pick my bike that night. They took about 79 hours to do what most bigger shoppes would do in a week, for a fraction of the price. These dudes are real gear heads, they really care about their work and your experience. They deserve your business! You'll wish you had taken your bike here after the experience i've had all around Austin.

I have been around lots of motorcycle shops, but let me tell you that Flying Pistons exceeded my expectations. From the moment you walk in you get that local home vibe you like. Shop manager Lucky and Owner Jim has gone above and beyond form my Harley. Don t get me wrong all businesses need to make money in order to operate but these guys are not here to clean out your wallet. The best things is these guys are military friendly lucky being a combat vet knows what s it s like. They look for the cheapest ways to save you money and their techs in the shop are outstanding. I would fully recommend this shop to anyone who enjoys the life of riding bikes. Thank again guys for the outstanding service......

On Saturday 15 June 2019 I was in Austin Texas at the ROT rally. My rear tire had a screw it in it that when I pulled it out to plug it. the hole was so big that 2 plugs would not seal it. It was already past 6 o'clock, but I called Flying Pistons in a hope against hope that they were still there and had a tire that would fit my 2015 Victory Cross Country tour. Not only did they have a tire in stock, Jim said he'd wait for me to come and get it and with an excellent price! Outstanding service! If I ever have a problem w/my bike while I'm in Austin (I live in Dallas) Flying Piston is where I'll take it for service!

Jim and his team were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them for any of your motorcycle service needs. They installed a new set of tires and mapped a PC V on my Honda VFR800. If you're looking for a personal service experience from people who care, go see the guys at Flying Piston Motorcycles. Great job!

Took my 02 dyna in cause I had no power and after talking to them asked them to go thru my bike and give it a good going over. They fixed all my oil leaks and replaced everything that was bad after 133,000 miles. Called me thruout the process to let me know prices and what all they found going bad or gone bad. Great crew there and knowledgeable in what they do. Got the bike back and its comfort to know i got some miles ahead of me with little worries. Thank you Renny and everyone that had a hand in these repairs.Service: Engine repair

I had a simple tire repair here. I enjoyed visiting with the owner and a mechanic. They showed me everything they were doing. Having grown up on a farm, I could tell if they were "pulling a fast one," but I was completely satisfied. They gave me excellent recommendations for future work when needed. I will be going back.

I recently purchased a used bike that had not been ridden for sometime. I called around local shops and Flying Piston was suggested as they work on all motorcycles instead of just HD. I went ahead and rode over and was met by the owner and one of the mechanics, Anthony. Both of them took the time to speak to me as well as invite me into the garage to go over any questions I had about the bike as well as giving me an incredibly accurate quote. Their mantra is "safety" which is exactly what I was looking for. They truly represent what a legitimate bike shop should be like. Honest, helpful, and wanting life on two wheels to be as safe as possible. They are officially my go-to motorcycle shop.

I would not recommend these guys. They appear to be friendly, but completely took advantage of me. They quoted one price for changing a tire, but when I went to pay it was over twice as much. This place is what gives the stereotype to a shady mechanic. Hopefully no one will have to learn the hard way like me to avoid this place!

I had the WORST experience EVER at Flying Pistons!! I am new to the area so I didn t know where to take my bike and I found this place online so I took my Harley to them. I needed two new tires, an inspection, and the brakes done on my bike. They don t charge per hour so you have no idea how much they are charging you per hour for labor. When I asked about how high the price was they said it was because they did great work and guaranteed their work. I had them do the job and when I got my bike back the brakes were done wrong and I had to take it back to them to fix it.About a month later I was driving my bike to work and as I was accelerating to get on the highway the back tire locked up and I almost fell off the bike. I was able to get to the side of the road and found that the bolts on the back wheel had broken off and come out of there supposedly, lock tight place.I called them to come and pick up the bike and about three hours later they came out to pick it up. I had to walk back home and get my truck. When I got to their shop they said that none of this was their fault and that I would need to pay for all the repairs.I got my trailer and picked up my bike. I will NEVER go back to them!
