I hadn't been to this business for auto repair since I moved out of Richardson years ago! Thankfully I remembered them and took my car in today. I can't tell you what a positive experience this was. This is a family-owned business since 1961 and I was treated with respect and dignity by both brothers, Bobby and Steve. I would definitely recommend this place because they are trustworthy, respectful and kind and did an awesome job on my car. The customer service was awesome and the price was exactly what they quoted me over the phone. No variation!

My son & I were talking about the various cars we've owned, and it brought back memories of the years 1977 - 1980, and a '69 Camaro I had as a teen. It started as a big block 396, and ended up as a big block 427. By far my favorite car, and Pitcock Automotive made it all possible with a couple of different engine builds! I was only 16 yrs old when I purchased the car... and I had no business owning it. It was way to fast. I broke engines & Bob Sr and his son's, Bob & Steve, kept fixing it. My super fast Camaro kept me running from the law, and collecting tickets! What a great experience in life (owning a big block '69 Camaro), and decades later, having wonderful memories to share...Thanks to the Pitcock family for providing me with some outstanding motors & some priceless memories!May peace be with you all - Robert

Great service at an affordable price! I think I found my new mechanic! The fixed my abs speed sensor wire quickly, without trying to upsell me on anything else, while beating out other mechanics and the dealership on cost.

Were recommended by word of mouth from a friend.Had my turbo replaced with them. We had some issues due to parts being delayed in mail (no fault to the shop), but they kept in constant communication with me on status of repairs and parts. They located a pesky oil leak that I had during the turbo repair, and they fixed that too.Good price on repair, and my car is running great now. Car was returned cleaned. Was very cool that they kept me informed and apprised of the repairs, great communicatio. I will definitely be bringing my business back to their establishment and point poeple I know to them as well.

As a business owner with one work van, you need it to be making money at all times. Our van began running badly and luckily, this shop was close to our shop. Steve is honest does great work. Yes, the job was more than I wanted to spend, but it was fair. What really stood out was the time it took to get us back on the road, very quick. Steve also followed up a few days later just to see how the van was running. No problems. Great shop with honest people.

Steve Pitcock is very trustworthy and he provides great service. He even followed up a week after the service to be sure my daughters car was still running smoothly. I would recommend him if you are looking for a great mechanic that is honest and service oriented. Thanks Steve!!

Pitcock Automotive did an excellent job on my car, for a really, really good price. Very courteous and professional. Steve even texted me a couple of days later to see how the car was running. You don't get that kind of service anymore.

We tried them for the first time on 7/15/16 and were ecstatic with their work, attitude and fair pricing. The Honda dealership wanted $640 to replace the Air Conditioner's Mode Selector Motor(after charging me $115 to diagnose the issue).Called Pitcock and they replaced the motor for $268 all inclusive.Great, friendly, honest automotive repair service who will get ALL our business in the future!!!

This is what I posted on my Facebook page.Another good event happened earlier in the week and I want to share it.I was fortunate to get my car repaired by some fantastic mechanics this week. They evaluated the problem, gave me a ride and said they will honor the work they performed for 1+ years. They have a great reputation and the office portion of their garage is like a history museum so it was fun a place to look around. They were the best and I feel really confident that they are an honest garage and will stand behind their work so I wanted to say a big thank you to the automotive team at Pitcock Automotive Garage in Richardson, Texas.

My local Honda dealer tried for more than a year to fix recurring engine check light and sometimes badly misfiring on my 2000 Accord. They did a complete engine tune-up and replaced a control unit, at significant cost to both me and Honda. But the problems persisted. When recently the transmission would sometimes get stuck in 3rd, I remembered having successfully used Pitcock a few decades ago. They did a quick check and suggested starting with replacing the sparkplugs. That fixed all the problems, including getting rid of engine knocking, which the Honda experts told me was due to piston wear.Great service!Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

This shop is a cut above-a significant cut above other independent shops and 100% above chain shops (Ahem: Firestone). They're simply more knowledgeable, more interested in helping you and more interested in figuring out what is wrong with your car. It's remarkable but my experience has been that many shops do what they do and if your car isn't broken in the 'right' way they're flummoxed. Pitcock is so different. They will dig and dig for the solution-and it won't be on your dime. If they don't find it or if they go down a rabbit hole before finding it you don't pay for the rabbit hole excursion. I took my car in for a noisy belt and it turned out it was the timing belt-and ultimately the cars engine needed to be replaced. I'm pretty sceptical when it comes to big repairs like this so I asked a ton of questions and Steve walked me through the ins and outs of the repair almost daily via text. They kept in such good touch with me that we were figuring the thing out together. Once it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced which came slowly and with apologies for not getting the vehicle back to me in time. They sourced an engine for me and installed it charging no labor-as we had already agreed to the labor charges when neither of us knew what the real problem was. Not all shops will do that-in fact most consider it part of the process of discovery--a big difference between this shop and others. Also, if I had a question I could text Steve at any time and he'd respond-he also proactively reached out to let me know how things were going. Finally, I needed a new set of tires and Pitcock sourced that too and installed them for no charge. But wait, there's more to the story-my wife ends up talking to Steve and his brother and turns out they know someone at the AAC and they got us tickets to Stars and Mavs games-in a suite. Now, the cynical among you may be saying that I got took with some sugar to make the deal go down. I don't think so. I think I did business with good people and a shop that charges reasonable rates for challenging mechanical work. And one that works hard to make customers for life with solid work that withstands scrutiny. This is a very good shop.

I was referred to Pitcock from a friend of mine on Facebook, Todd Wakefield. and I did take my car into Pitcock. I cannot say enough about the Original Owner, Mr. Pitcock Sr., his son(s), and other mechanics. These people really do ACTUALLY CARE about you. You can count on getting treated fairly, and get a load of this.......they follow up with you to see how your car's doing.....WHAT!! I will never take my car anywhere else than here for now on. I highly recommend Pitcock to anyone! Thank you guys from the bottom of this single mom's heart. God Bless You

This shop used to one of the best when the original owner ran things, But when he turned it over to his sons it went to the dogs! My father and I used them for over 20 years but no more. The final straw came when they did a VERY expensive repair, that didn't fix the problem and then parked my car under power lines where my car got covered with bird s**t and then refused to clean it off! It's sad that the family members now running this once stellar shop has slipped.

I used to own my own shop that fixed only German cars, and when I had an American car that needed to be fixed, I would referred it to Pitcock Auto. They never let me down and I take my own cars to them, now. They have always done a great job, and I recommend that all my friends and family take their cars to them.
