I bought a lemon a few months back, that I've been slowly squeezing into a reliable vehicle. Wish I'd have found McWhorter's months ago. Outstanding service. Above and beyond the call, in every aspect. Speed, efficiency, great communication, fair prices, flawless work; but most outstanding was the obvious pride in work and family. That just bit of small talk at the register - I complimented Kyle. Paul beamed about his son, but quickly deferred the credit to his wife. That little moment felt very big. Both men showed the same pride in their craft, their workmanship. Just so refreshing! Since first "picking my lemon" in December - I've faced a lot of confusion, shady business practices, and wasted money - Oh the bitterness!!So, I cannot tell ya'll how thrilled I am to have found what feel like beautiful "old school" business practices in a wonky modern world. Thank you McWhorters. You are appreciated so very much!

Great service, very welcoming. I was in and out quickly for my state inspection. Coffee and/or water while you wait to boot! Staff is super friendly.

I have been looking for a fair priced knowledgeable auto shop since I moved here 4 years ago. I found it in McWhorter's. The level of professionalism is out of this world!

Tried to get my car inspected twice today. First time at 1:05 pm and was told to come back at 1:30 pm. Was told first come first serve system was in place, no appointments. Came back at 1:30 and was told set down and I will get to you we can. I waited 20 minutes because I felt like no one wanted to help me at all. In my opinion this shop doesn t want to do inspections they are a waste of time for them.Service: Vehicle safety inspection

Wow! We cannot thank Mike and his very lovely wife enough. Saturday afternoon, another place diagnosed our truck, and I called McWhorter out of the blue, last minute for help. Mike wanted to know everything that happened when we got there and even called the parts store that we ordered the part from, BEFORE we got there (not even knowing us), to make sure we had purchased the correct part (of which him and his mechanic discovered the misdiagnosis of the other place immediately. All of them are very intelligent professionals! Extremely honest and caring! My husband and I would feel very confident to send our mom, grandma, or child there for help. It is a huge weight off of our shoulders to have someone like this group, should we need them. We are just very appreciative, and ya'll have definitely put our mind at ease. They were fast and professional. The facility is nice and clean so I had no problem waiting. They didn't try and hassle me with unnecessary services. Dependable and trust worthy. I will definitely be coming back.

We were here on vacation when our car suddenly starting throwing scary alerts at us. They were the only mechanic shop that was willing to take us in on short notice on a Saturday. They were so friendly and personable and professional. They diagnosed the problem as a small sensor issue that we can get fixed when we get home and that we were good to get back to our vacation without a worry. They didn't even charge us for the check!! I would 100% recommend them to anyone in the area or traveling. Such kind people and a clean waiting room with Wi-Fi as well. Our minds were certainly put at ease and I am so thankful for these men. Great mechanic shop in Portland with friendly, knowledgeable staff. They will get your vehicle fixed up and talk you through the process so that you understand what they're doing.

These guys are the best! Michael and Paul are nice, courteous and respectful. Service is fast. Prices are fair. (You don't have to get a loan to pay for your auto repairs! ) And they do State Inspections! I highly recommend McWhorter Service in Portland Texas!!!!

The service is good. Just be sure that you tell them to check with you before proceeding with any additional work or changes to your authorized repairs. higher than normal for oil changes. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Friendly automotive shop. Went in for state inspection. They didn't try to up-sale me even though they actually lose money doing state inspections. Observed them deal with other customers, made solid recommendations for their car care....even suggested they do some things themselves instead of paying the shop. Had a great conversation with the manager. This shop you can trust!

I brought my truck in for an oil change and was initially disappointed when told they only carried synthetic oil. I've always used regular oil. They did have what they called a blend though, and though it didn't cost very much less, I decided to go on and let them do the oil change since I was already there. After taking it back to the garage, the counter guy brought out this really obviously dirty filter of some sort, explaining it was a cabin filter that outside air for the A/C passed through. I never knew such a thing existed, much less that my truck used one! I said, "By all means, put in a new one." They also showed me the air filter that looked like it was plenty dusty, what with the drought and all. I said replace it, too. I had felt for some time that my A/C wasn't cooling quite as well as it used to. After replacing the cabin filter, I actually had to turn down the A/C in the cab! Smells better in there, too! So glad I made the decision to use them! I've had the truck 10 years and nobody else even mentioned a cabin filter! Like it or not, they're stuck with me! Not going anywhere else!

Great service and friendly people, but I found a massive scratch on my driver's door when I picked up my truck. They said they'd call me to make arenagements and have it repaired, still haven't received that call. It's been about 3 months

My car was giving me a ton of trouble and McWhorter didn t hesitate to offer to help. Mike guided me through the whole process: from the diagnostic to explaining the problem to offering a solution and helping finance me. And Red worked on my car and did an absolutely phenomenal job! It hasn t run this well since I got it! The best experience I ve ever had with an auto shop, ever! I ll never go anywhere else. McWhorter Service Group impressed me greatly for a first visit. Our city needed more options for auto service and they have stepped up to the plate. The waiting area was spotless and comfortable. I was in and out with no wait for an annual inspection. This group is very professional and friendly. I look forward to using them for my next oil change and anything else that crops up in the future.

My car was basically on life support when I called for help. These guys were able to fit me in & got to work diagnosing my ProblemS. It was not an easy fix, but I walked out feeling like my vehicle was ready to run another 150k miles.
