I took my wife and son to a family Sweet Sixteen celebration in Port Lavaca, TX. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for two nights. The room had a view of the bay and was very clean. In fact, the public restroom off the lobby was super clean. Also, the room itself was not that wide, plus the beds took up most of the room. The beds were really comfortable, and we slept very well during our stay. The stay included breakfast served from 5:30 am to 10 am. There was a nice selection of breakfast fare offered. I tried the pancake maker. Simply push a button and place a paper plate at the bottom, and after a couple of minutes, a pancake rolls out. The pancake was OK a little too dense, and not the least bit fluffy. Available to choose from included omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, assorted cereals. There is like a bakery cabinet with bagels, muffins, breads, and toppings. The juice machine had all the flavors working, and the coffee station was fully stocked and on point. We liked the friendly attendant whowas always busy maintaining the food area and the cleanliness of the dining area. Port Lavaca is not a resort or beach town by any means. I got that impression due to the extremely large, massive, and impressive refinery that is on the other side of the bay. That and seeing the refinery workers in heavy garb outside waiting for their ride. There is another refinery outside of town about 50 miles or so down the road. I met a few workers, some were from Canada, and one guy I talked to was from Africa. Anyway, we enjoyed the celebration and the hotel. My only complaint is the place only had one elevator, so there were long waiting times.

First checked in to the room noticed that the water had air in the system. Flushed the toilet and the lid almost blew off. Decided to wait till morning to shower. Woke up at 2 am to check the water out and there was no water at all. Kind of funny that it's right on the water. Water everywhere but no water in the rooms. The worst rooms at a holiday inn express ever.Rooms: Great rooms. But still no damn water.

We stayed here a few weeks ago and it was one of our best stays at a Holiday Inn Express. The pool was great and we even watched a guy catch a shark behind the hotel. The beds were comfortable. Tay made a great breakfast, and she even kept it open a little late to make sure everyone was able to eat. She cares deeply about her guests. We will definitely be back!

The rooms and stay was awesome. Not to mention the fishing was amazing but above all was the staff .ATT.. to the owner Mr WillMiss Tay was heard by me telling a guest not only about the hotel but the history of port lavaca in a way that the guest was wowed.. each one of the staff members was like family to each other and to the guest it was a blessing. You have an amazing well recommended hotel by far in our area.

100% the BEST SERVICE I have had at a hotel by far! I had to make an emergency trip in the middle of the night coming from Port Lavaca an hour away from home and high-tailed it back. The staff Nancy, Sabrina, and Candice understood our situation and were the most respectful and delightful individuals who stepped up to the plate and provided amazing service. A 10-star recommend!!!

By far the best hotel to stay in Port Lavaca! The place is immaculate, the breakfast was great and the beds were oh so comfy. The air conditioning was cold and there's ambient lighting that illuminates the entire room is so relaxing.Sabrina runs this wonderful establishment with an amazing team. She even took the time to sign us up for rewards. She truly cares for her guest and in everything she does, it shows.Upon check in Megan and Aubrey were at the front desk. They have such positive attitudes and greeted us with a warming welcome. Our overall experience will be remembered for years to come. We were treated like family. We checked in late in the evening and I didn't get a picture of our room but this morning we woke up to a beautiful view! This establishment deserves a 10! The grounds are just as immaculate as the hotel.

I enjoyed my one night stay here at the hotel. I was in town simply to fish and sleep that s it. So I fished around town during the day and later fished right off of the walk behind the hotel. I mean, how convenient is that! Then, after a long day of chasing fish, I cleaned up and jumped in the pool and hot tub. It was a Sunday night and it was peaceful and quite. I almost felt like I had the place to myself. The hotel front desk staff was friendly and the next morning I had a quick hot breakfast and coffee before I headed back home. My only complaint was that my room was a little warmer than I wanted and I could adjust the temp to make it cooler and there was a slight musty odor in the room. The toilet also didn t flush. I did mention it to the front desk and they had no problem getting me another room but I declined. I was alone and only there for one night. So no big deal just wanted to let them know and take care of it for the next customer. But if I was in town again, I can see myself staying there again.Quick note for the fisherman: watch out for the gators! One crawled up the embankment there and was within feet of us fisherman. If you have pets or small children I can see that being a problem b/c I m serious it was right there!

We had a great visit to Port Lavaca and stay at the Holiday Inn. It was a bit pricey and I wish it had an actual beach. But Port Lavaca is such a great place with a Walmart and HEB so close to the water and Hotel. That combined with breakfast at Holiday Inn truly helps keep our costs down. Ample restaurants nearby makes this Holiday Inn a great place to stay. I might add that one employee stood out. Tay was the lovely lady that prepared the breakfast. She was so much fun and helpful. It was almost like we were having breakfast at her house. You would actually think she owned the place there was so much love coming off her. She made us look forward to our next visit.

We really love this place but the one draw back is they do not allow dogs. My husband constantly travels and the kids and I will go and stay with him every weekend. It really puts us in a bind to go see him because it's hard to find someone to watch our pets. We are a family that loves to fish and they have the best setup to fish. They have tables setup down stairs along with grills to enjoy outdoor grilling and eating. Their breakfast is awesome also. I just wish we could bring our two dogs.

Excellent newer hotel with amazing waterside location. Members are upgraded to water view rooms for free.Hot tub and pool aren't just for kids, we had a blast! Comfortable beds and attentive staff.Full hot breakfast completed our trip.Across the street from a sandy beach and water splash pad for the kids ($5.00 per car entry).Town big enough for groceries and restaurants. Worth the trip.

Sabrina was amazing! She was super sweet to my kids even though we had a situation at the pool. Our room was very clean. Breakfast had a great variety and the coffee was decent. It was quiet at night and everyone was super friendly. I know where I'll be staying and my next trip.to Port Lavaca! Thanks again Sabrina for making our stay more comfortable.

I have to say, this was a horrible experience and the way they handled it including the manager. I went back and forth with them for months before the trip, my friends and I were riding motorcycles from NY to TX.I booked months in advance and got a total price of 1,800.50 plus tax and a conformation number so we wouldn't have any problems because it was a long ride and we were tired. At 11:09 am that morning of check in I get a phone call so I pull over with all the guys to call back at 11:18 am, 9 minutes later and we can't check in until 3pm. So I call 9 minutes later to find out they gave all 9 rooms away. They said they been trying to call me, the only phone log I have from them calling was 9 minutes earlier and they said they couldn't get me so they gave our rooms away.Check in isn't for anyone 4hrs so why would you give my rooms away plus I have a conformation #. PLUS I call with in 9 minutes so they Obviously gave my rooms away days earlier and just figured out they messed up.I told them I have a conformation number and total amount held on credit card, they said they don't see that, how can I have all this printed out with conformation number and balance without giving a credit card. This was a horrible experience and the way they handled it was wrong, not even a sorry we messed up. We really had to scramble to find rooms at the last minute on a busy weekend for 16 guys. If anyone has corporates number send it to me so I can send them all the paperwork I have and email conformation. Thanks, sorry for rambling on but this was horrible and all the guys didn't go easy on me.

Outside amenities are great. Staff is nice. Facility is definitely in need of maintenance. Rooms should have better cleaning done. I should not find dried pee spots in the restroom and other people's public hairs on the paper towels. Definitely won't be staying again.

We have NEVER given a 1-star review, but we were absolutely NOT impressed with our stay. We generally exclusively book IHG hotels for business as well as vacation quite regularly, and have never been as disappointed as we were at this hotel.- The floor in our room was filthy.- Our bathroom floor had hair and trash under the sink area. There was also a dead baby roach on the floor.- Hair in the bathtub.- Our room was not refreshed for our second night. They dropped off fresh towels only.- The temperature in our room was a steady 80 degrees. I let housekeeping know, but it wasn t fixed.- Breakfast was sub-par. The western omelette was a folded up piece of egg. No cheese, no veggies, no meat!- The front desk clerk was dressed in ripped up jeans and a Simpsons t-shirt. Not a big deal, but it was on par for the quality of our entire experience. Not what I d expect from a Holiday Inn Express that is $162 per night. Perhaps from the Motel 6 next door. Please note, we are not hotel snobs, but we do expect to be comfortable when we stay away from home. This Holiday Inn Express made us feel far from comfortable. We hope these details will help the manager and staff realize where improvements need to made in order to meet the expectations of IHG guests, and take better care and attention to the cleanliness of each room.

Very beautiful place to stay, the personnel very friendly and kind. BUTunfortunately I had to share our restroom with my sister and her children, We both got a room each, she had a suite but their restroom stoped working after their arrival, called them to see if they could send someone to fix it but it was the middle of the night so they had nobody.Breakfast is good, very rooms have very pretty views
