Bruce is the definition of a great mechanic. Trustworthy, honest, reasonable pricing, willing to do research to figure out tricky problems, good communication, and has the skills to tackle jobs ranging from wiring/electrical to engine swaps to complete rebuilds. New or old car, Bruce will take care of you. He has worked on my 1971 BMW 2002, as well as my 1995 BMW M3 (a full engine swap + more), and isn't afraid to tackle something new. As someone who has spent a lot of time having cars worked on by different mechanics & shops, Bruce is an excellent choice when looking for a mechanic.Services: Transmission, Carburetor cleaning, Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Auto glass repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

Great little auto repair shop. I do most of my own repairs, so only pay someone to work on my car infrequently, if I don't have time or the job is too big or requires special tools, etc. But it's great to have someone you can trust when you do need repairs.I recently had some AC issues. I couldn't figure out the problem and finally had to call in a pro, so I brought my car to Bruce. He got me in pretty quickly and was able to diagnose the problem quickly, even though I wasn't in a hurry to get my car back. (I did need the air conditioning fixed, however, cuz you know, it's Texas). It ended up being a pretty simple fix, but it was an intermittent problem, which makes it VERY tough to diagnose. Bruce is an honest and trustworthy guy, so he only charged me for his time, which was super reasonable. This is exactly the type of problem that many less scrupulous auto repair shops could fleece you for. No worries here that Grease Monkey will sell you some unnecessary repairs just to make a buck. If you need a reliable mechanic, give them a call. It's a bit hidden, but the owner does most of his business from personal referrals, so he's not worried about being hard to find. He's by appointment only, so call first.

Steep pricing and difficult to get a hold of and long wait. After much diagnostics, the issue is still there. My car's issue was a broken windshield wiper system. The diagnostic of the entire situation took quite some time. First I was told the control module is bad and it would cost me $500.11 with parts and the part would be very expensive. I replied back that I would find my own part. After installing the control module, the labor cost was $595 for 2.5 hours of diagnostics with a discount of $90 for bringing my car there (what does this discount really mean?). So the hourly rate was $200+/hour. But then later, I was told that the wiper motor is also bad. So that would be additional $395 for labor and that would have been with my own part ! I think I am in the wrong industry myself.Very surprised that none of these reviews mentioned about how expensive Bruce's charges were. Since my yearly salary is only about 1/4 of this hourly rate, no way I could afford this. Went to a different place called Murdock and Son Automotive in Garland, TX. The cost for installing the wiper motor with my own part is only $150. This is what I call fair.Service: Electrical repair

Oct 2016 update:I messaged Bruce on Yelp at 12:30pm, as I live in Dallas but happened to be up in Plano. My car had some bad vibrations from a warped brake rotor, and some loose body trim from a storm that I was driving through. He messaged back within 1 hour and told me to bring it in. Bruce took care of everything within 2 hours. Quick, efficient, and affordable as always. Here's the kicker: I've had a clunking/banging noise from my rear suspension for four years. Nobody has ever been able to figure it out, because the suspension itself looks fine. I've had it looked at by three or four good mechanics, and I finally gave up and just dealt with it.Bruce heard the clunk when he was working on my car. His first response: "Dangit." His second: Bruce dug around the rear suspension, even though he didn't have to, and after more inspection, found a suspension bolt that was loose.I didn't realize 'til after Bruce fixed it that I've been carrying stress and tension every time I drive because I always feel like the suspension is about to fail. Now I can drive with peace of mind. All thanks to Bruce just being a great guy and wanting to help a customer out.Bruce is seriously one of the best mechanics I've ever taken my car to. He's clear, quick, smart, proactive, and never overcharges you. He does the work you ask for and agree to. Stand up guy, great service, everyone should come here. ---I brought my car in because my check engine light was on, due to a faulty cat converter. Bruce quoted me a universal cat converter, warrantied the part and labor, and did it all by the end of the day. My air conditioning unit also had a failed actuator, and Bruce replaced that for a very small sum and did it in 10 minutes. I saved at least $200 over another shop's quote.Bruce is very efficient, cordial, to the point, and knowledgeable. He also responds quickly to Yelp messages. I would recommend anyone to go to him, as he basically makes it his goal to diagnose the real underlying problems while saving you money. I'd give Bruce ten stars if I could. Thanks Bruce!

I was all set with the expectation of laying down up to around $2k to essentially overhaul my 119k mile minivan braking system. Replacing seemed reasonable, considering our 6 year old Sienna has been trouble free for the last few years, but it was nice to only replace what was actually needed. Our rotors and front brake pads will last at least another year, and the shocks and struts are still fine. Instead, I spent less than 1/4 of that amount, and that included a synthetic oil change! I highly recommend him, as he'll save you money and save you from throwing away parts that are still working just fine.

Our AC was no longer working in our 2005 Toyota Matrix. In just a few days Bruce replaced the compressor and we had nice cool AC in our car just in time for summer. Thank you!
