THESE GUYS ROCK!!!!Can't say enough good stuff about Jeff and crew. They built a sweet little 289 Ford for my buddy and me and it turned out perfect! Broke it in on their dyno (312hp @5100) and the motor has run perfectly ever since. Tons of fun for a daily driver in a 65 mustang. About to build an AMC 360 for my CJ-7 and will absolutely take my business back here. Great job, guys!

I have been calling for 3 days no one will answer the phone are they even in business anymore needed some immediate assistance but I guess they're too busy to answer the phone or they're just a shop with no receptionist to answer your phone I guess I'll find someone else

One more box checked off on the o l bucket list. #5: My 1st engine build from new and used parts. I wanted to thank Jeff of Houston Engine and Balancing for all of the patience and expertise along the way. Left my 409 crank to be turned . He told me it would be ready in two weeks . I told him I wasn t in a huge hurry and two weeks would be fine . I picked up my crank today ( three months later ) and it still isn t done . Each time I called to check on it he would promise me he d have it ready the following week . Unless you re spending mega-bucks , his service time sucks .

I ve had some bad experiences with machine shops. I have a 351 Cleveland that I spent a whole lot of money to have built by another shop in town. It has been a disaster. I ve checked around and read the reviews and visited the shop. I m taking the engine to Houston Engine and Balance. I m putting faith in Jeff to finally get this engine right. The engine said in my garage after I had it built for two years while we were getting the car ready it was going in. When we put the engine in and it would not perform even at idle speed I contacted the other shop and because of the time frame they wouldn t even look at it. I need help and I m putting my faith in this shop to resolve the issue this engine has.

Jeff is great amd does great work. Jeff had gone above and beyond helping me. Answering questions I have amd giving me advice on building my own engine.

So i called him up and give him my 2 cents.he told me to bring him the motor he would find out what the problem was .Come to find out the block i used had been line bored one hundredths over dont know how he found it but he did. Jeff was a true blessing .He totally walked me through the whole build. Thank you jeff keep up the good business.

The owner Jeff is an awesome machinist. He takes great care in the work he does. He is honest and thats something worth more than money. I have had a couple of engines done by him and all were fantastic.

Took my engine there December 5, it's now mid July and 7 months later, mid July I'm still waiting. Was told it would be done by end of March's 4 months after I was told it would be done, it's not. I know they do great work and that's why I went there, but if you need your stuff done in timely matter I don't recommend this place,Service: Motor buildingService: Motor building

This should be the only machine shop you should ever trust. I've had work done at several shops local to me and this is the only shop to perform the work right every time. I drive 4 hours each way to have them machine my motors. Jeff is amazing.

Been going to this shop for 10 years. Tommy Costales was always trying to convince me to get rid of my Demon carburetor and go EFI. LOL. Jeff is the best in the business. I will not go to another racing engine builder.

Took my Stroke kit there and 9 months later still nothing. Now Im being told they lost some parts and i honestly dont feel like i can trust them. Same old story..

Rude customer service, i brought my engine to get minor work done and he took 2 weeks to finish it (i had to call the shop every 2 days)I'll never come back to this shop
