This place was great when Billy was running it, now, not so much. Brought my vehicle in for a simple repair and they called me a week later to tell me it was ready. Left the shop and didn't even get a block down the road when the engine seized and stopped running. This happened in the middle of the intersection and luckily I was able to coast to the side of the road. Tony said it was nothing that they did and would not look into it. It ran fine until they worked on it. Poor, poor craftsmanship and even less care about their customer. Triple J Auto Repair on Westside is the place to go for honest and trustworthy results. Wish I had found them first.

I have been coming to Bill Lowery s now for decades, and will continue doing so because they have always done a great job on all my vehicles. I am definitely impressed with the experience, professionalism, and honesty of the work they provide. Tony especially has been doing a great job in management, I can truly say I trust his expertise and knowledge of the best parts to use in repairing the vehicles that I ve brought in to get repaired. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will definitely bring any vehicle back here to get serviced.

This repair shop was the best before Billy retired. But now a new crew is in charge. Tony is the lead guy and he is dishonest. I dropped my truck off for them to diagnose a problem I suspected was a timing chain issue. Tony called me back and informed me that I did need a new timing chain kit and it would cost ~$2300 (parts/labor, less sales tax and "shop incidentals"). I decided to get a second opinion from another mechanic and when I picked up the truck, Tony charged me $65 for the diagnostics. I asked him if he had performed any diagnostics on the truck and he said no. They just listened to the truck and agreed with my assessment. I told him that his "diagnostics" fee was unfair since he had done nothing to confirm the problem. He simply pointed to the sign on the wall ($65 shop fee). I told him I would never use his shop again and he said "I'm glad".That afternoon, I stopped by another shop. The lead mechanic listened to the engine and said, "Well, I can't confirm it's a bad timing chain unless I briefly run the engine without the serpentine belt in place." I agreed for him to proceed and his diagnosis confirmed the timing chain was ok. The water pump pulley was bad (making noise). He quoted me $750 to replace the pump (parts/labor)..In Summary, Lowery's Automotive (with Tony calling the shots) did NOTHING to confirm the engine problem and were prepared to charge me over $2300 for a timing chain I did not need. We've all heard the stories of mechanics/shops charging for work that's not necessary. Well, I experienced it firsthand and I'm lucky I did not allow Tony's gang to work on my truck.STAY AWAY FROM LOWERY'S AUTOMOTIVEService: Auto engine diagnostic

Billy Lowery Automotive is good about taking your money at dealership maintenance prices, and they'll lie to your face without doing the job properly. Con artists!!!

Billy Lowery Automotive exceeding my expectations with amazing quality service. I had taken my vehicle to the dealership and they had my truck for 5 days and were unable to diagnose it. I finally picked it up and took it to Billy Lowery's and it was diagnosed and repaired in less than an hour. This is my new go to mechanic shop, I highly recommend.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I took my car here all the time back when I lived in Pasadena. Two brake shops told me I needed new brakes and rotors. It was going to cost over $400. I took it to Billy who told me that I didn't need anything done to my car! What kind of mechanics say that? Honest mechanics that's who. I wished I lived closer so I can take my car back to Billy but unfortunately, I don't. Thank you Billy for being so honest.

Lowery's is the only place to take my vehicles for automotive maintenance and repairs. I was told I needed new tie rods when I got an oil change. I took it in to Lowery's only to discover my car needed nothing. They are honest and thorough. Thank you Tony! They wouldn't even charge me the diagnostic fee. Thanks for having great values. Brought a vehicle in to find out what they would charge to fix issue. I already knew what was wrong with the vehicle before I took it to them! But the response that I got was "we will take a look and call you"! We'll they did call me to tell me the repair cost to fix it" then it was followed by its also a $65 diagnostic service fee to tell me something that I already knew before I dropped the vehicle off! Must have poor business to have to scam for charging a service fee the customer already knew what was wrong with the vehicle they brought in!! Plenty of honest shops out there before I would use this organization.

The company is very friendly and easy to work with.I have been taking vehicles to James for over 10 years now. He does a great job making sure they run smoothly and are safe for travel. He is direct and gives heads up on upcoming repairs or to start vehicle shopping. They offer alternatives when available to weigh options for budgeting.

Very honest. Very nice and when my car issue didn't happen when I took it to the shop, instead of them charging me for keeping the car overnight and testing it, they charged $0.00 and told me if the issue happens again to bring it back. I appreciate that. Most places will charge you the minute they hook up their computer and charge for the diagnostic. I will be back.

This place was top notch when Billy and James were in charge. Now that they have retired and Tony has taken over it is terrible. They are not honest and cannot be trusted. I was a customer for over 20 years but no more.

Tried to charge me 3 times the price to change a gasket casing as other mechanics in the area. Hung up on me when I turned down the offer, without saying goodbye ect.

Have been hearing positives on Lowery's for years on how honest they are. $340 for an alternator, $380 for labor and then need to add $5 for shop supplies - really? On the drive to the house the ac wouldn't cool; lost some of the coolant...? Good turn over rate though.

Honesty, very well ran shop, Mr Lowery himself, and good mechanics. They fix the problem correctly and don't look to oversell, unless real issues are found. 30 yr customer. Expect to pay the book price. Make an appointment, drop off your car the night before or that morning, pick it up that afternoon, every time!

This has to be one of the last remaining truly honest shops that operates with integrity and transparency. Every time I've needed work done they've always performed with excellence even when I take my failed attempts at mechanic work to them to clean up my mess. Fantastic work, not always affordable but you won't have to take it back for that specific repair because it'll be done right.

This is a great place to take your vehicle ;) everyone is so nice and trust worthy .. I found out about them through my extended warranty provider . They use them all the time .. The dodge dealer was going to have my truck for 7 to 10 days before they could even look at WOW that's crazy !! They got it diagnosed and fixed in one day ..... I will use them again !!!!!!

Billy Lowery's is the only place that our vehicles go when they need something done to them. It was the only place my mom took her vehicles once she found Lowery's. Billy and his team are fast, friendly and honest. I would not trust anyone other than his team of mechanics to work on any of my vehicles and you won't either once you go there.

I was told it would cost around 4,000 to replace my Jeep engine, I took it here for a second opinion. Billy Lowery fixed it for 350.00. A+ honest service.

I called Billy Lowery around closing time, told him that my husband broke down on the way home, the truck just stopped working died on the freeway but some how was able to coast it off 45 south exit into a parking lot. He could not get it started to get it to the shop and it was going to be dark soon. He let me know a number to call if he still could not get it started and they would come get the truck and put it into the Automotive building until they opened up the next day when they could take a look at it. That is such a relief knowing you can get to where you need it to be worked on by someone you trust. I have trusted and referred Billy Lowery's since my first auto I ever owned back in 1984.

Price is extremely high. We went in for 1 spart plug and costed almost 500.00. This place used to be reasonably priced.

They need new mechanics for check engine lightDiagnostic I took my truck 2 them they would tell me it was fixed it was not . They keep changing parts did not so taught myself how to check o2sensor and computer with volt ohmmeter after they had charged me four hundred dollars they did not want to work with me about refunding my money by the way the parts were good and the problem was exhaust leak so I don't recommend them they should know about a exhaust leak causing this problem hopefully people won't make my mistake goodluck

Very knowledgeable. However tried to charge me 450$ for a 50$ part... Be very cautious. Couldn't guarantee the part would fix the problem. The mark up is real with this one.

I have taken all of the vehicles I have ever owned to him and NEVER had problems with the parts he replaced.
