My car was shutting down while driving. Was told I needed to replace a water pump sensor and that would fix the problem even though it was not overheating and explained that there was no overheating lights or warnings coming on.. $600 something dollars later and the car broke down from the same problem on the way home. Took it back and asked why it was doing the exact same thing as before if the "water pump sensor" was replaced. They kept the car for two days and then said nothing was wrong with it except it needed a new battery. They basically reset the code with their code reader to turn off the check engine light. But it broke down again on the way home. Took the battery to Autozone to check and they said the battery was fine. Finally took it to the dealership. Showed them the paperwork for what was done to the car and explained what was happening and the dealership said it had nothing to do with the cooling system for the car engine with what they replaced. The car was not overheating, the hybrid battery was. The hybrid battery waterpump was broken and needed to be replaced. Was not circulating water at all to cool the hybrid battery and was causing the car to shut down. Which we were also told is a VERY COMMON problem on that model car. The code that was given was the "inverter cooling system performance" which the dealership told us means 99% of the time means the waterpump that cools the battery has failed and needs to be replaced. They didnt even check out the car fully. Stuck it on a computer and then misinterpreted the code. Instead of admitting the mistake, they tried to act like it was something else and basically take the money they could to replace something that didn't need to be replaced. $600 is a very expensive "mistake" The dealership fixed the car the 1st time and although it was more expensive, it was done correctly and ultimately was cheaper than all the towing expenses and Uber costs as well as the time I was without the car. Would not recommend this place, especially if you are a woman and don't know much about cars. They will take advantage of you.Service: General repairs & maintenance

They helped with a tricky ECM problem my car developed after sitting too long without starting. They got it done quickly, and it hasn't been a problem since. They were also very, very lenient with pricing considering how difficult ECM jobs normally are.Service: Electrical repairService: Electrical repair

I have taken my truck here multiple times. Never had an issue until this last time. Dropped my truck off for an inspection. Was aware that my check engine light was on, so there were going to be some problems with it. It's 10 years old so to be expected...the first 2-3 days they were great with calling me and telling me what was going on, but after that complete silence. I have another vehicle so I wasn't needing it back right away and was being patient. Long story short, nearly a month goes by with zero communication from them. I picked up my truck today. It was parked in a corner behind a truck that literally had to be pushed out so I could leave. Check engine light still on. On top of that, I was told the printer was not working so my recipt was emailed to me. No biggy. Get home. Open the email. "Pdf file corrupt" I have no clue what they actually did to "repair" my vehicle on a 1,000+ dollar bill! Better believe I will be checking state laws to see if this is legal. Got my codes ran at O'Reilly...fixed the issue in about 2 hours. CEL has yet to come back on.Save yourself loads of trouble and pass on this place. Worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. (Worked retail 6 years. I don't complain often.)

Turned in my 2001 Dodge Ram1500 because the trans was slipping. Everything else on the truck was working. Told me they couldn't look at it for a week because they have a contract with DeerPark to fix their recreational utility trucks. So basically they are going to put your vehicle on the backburner to take care of the commercial vehicles. They didn't look at it till 2 wks later. They asked me if the truck was in a flood. I told them maybe because I just bought the truck for $700 which explained the trans slipping. I asked them if they still wanted to take on the project. They said yes. I also let them change out the manifold gasket because he said it was leaking oil and let them do a tuneup which costed over $400 combined. Later they said the CPU went out and replaced it for free. They end up putting a CPU from a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500, a truck that is 4yrs older. Of course they do a diagnostics through the wrong CPU and all kinds of faulty codes come up. Edgar says the motor has alot of lost compression, which is what the diagnostics is saying. And it would be just be cheaper to swap the engine. I try to hold off on replacing the motor but he said that the warranty to the transmission would be lost if I didn't let him change the motor, since motor and trans are connected. So I pay another $800 on a used motor and around $500 for the labor of putting motor in. At this point I've spent about $1,600-$1,700. They send the transmission to get rebuilt at another transmission shop. When Apex gets it back and installs it they say the diagnostics from the wrong year CPU says that the brand new transmission sensors that I bought it where bad. So they take off the sensors and buy more new sensors from a local place. They sold the sensors to Apex for $112 but Apex wanted to charged me $189 saying they were doing the labor of replacing the sensors for free. They throw in their sensors and the diagnostics on the sensors is still the same, they are bad.In mid January(almost 3 months) they call me saying my truck is ready. I wrote out a second check totalling over $3,000 spent. The truck isn't even worth that If I sold it in excellent condition. Before drive off I notice my whole entire cluster gauges are not working. I dont know temperatures, how fast I'm going, how much amperage I have on my battery, how much gas I have. All these things were working before. My radiator reservior was also cracked when they did the engine swap. I asked them if they could replace it and Edgar told me if I was kidding. "That was a cheap part and you can replace it easily" he said. I had to spend time and money to go pull another one from a junk yard. The transmission was staying into gears too long and didn't go into overdrive. I brought it to Edgars attention but he said it was driving nornal after he test drove it. For a few months I drove it like that because I just used the small streets to get to work anyways. But having to put gas every 2 or 3 days from fear of running out of gas.Later I took it to Pablo's Auto Electric shop also in Pasadena to get the clusters working. He tells me the the CPU belongs to a 1997 dodge ram 1500. So basically more that half of the expenses I spent at Apex were unnecessary. The transmission is still slipping from 3rd to 4th gear even with the correct CPU put in($81 from Best Auto Salvage). The warranty is good till January 2019 (a full year)but Edgar is refusing to stand by his warranty to fix the trans because the Transmission shop he used only warranties the trans for 6months. So he just doesn't want to come out of pocket to make things right. He told me to get off his property and never come back.I wouldn' t even send my worst enemy to him so that he could profit. The Apex sign outside the shop might look fancy but the work and service is horrible from my experience. I really feel sorry for the DeerPark Tax payers for letting Apex work on their trucks. .......... If there were negative stars I'd give them a .............-5

Scheduled work to be done on my work truck for Saturday just to drive all the way over there today be told they didn't order the parts. Seems they didn't care to do the work and I would have rather been told that when I stopped in during the week instead of wasting time and fuel
