Very rude and unprofessional, he wouldn t honor warranty on battery even after he tried charging it for 2-Days. He don t deserve the 1-Star I gave him!

This guy has been there for me and my family for years. He has always done what he said he would do. Dons always came thru from my boat, tractor, race cars, daily driver and even some old fire water pump stuff nobody in the USA had anymore. The prices have always been fair and service was honest. Sometimes he did have bad news. But he fixed it and always stood behind his work especially if you called him first when it come to the work he had done. Does he have rules for his shop?? Yes! As with anyone! You don't go past his chains to enter the work bays, that's not safe! Use the front door. He has cameras and a phone in the lobby. Some people have tried to take advantage of others in workplace situations so I don't blame the guy for having rules. It has never affected our service. After building race car alternator and starter that he said was without warranty because it's a racing application, he still took care of my starter when it went out! Like I said, 100% satisfied customer!Services: Electrical, Battery

Been doing business here my entire life. Not sure what has gone wrong but Kris is extremely unprofessional and beyond rude. Will not be returning! I have sent them hundreds of alternators and starter jobs.

I m surprised this place is still in business the way they treat customers. Whoever answers the phone needs a lesson in customer service! They are rude and have anger management issues!! Google won t let you leave zero stars so unfortunately I had to leave one. This place should shut his doors and check into a mental institution!

Can t rate it 0. Its not an option that s offered. Owner got irate and threatened me because I tried To make sure the wrecker left him the keys. He pushed my car out and threw my keys in some weeds. Turns out I m not the first.Service: ElectricalService: Electrical

I concur with the other reviews. My husband bought my Audi to the shop to get the alternator repaired on a Monday. My car was supposed to be ready on the following Wednesday. He called and said that it would be ready Thursday. On Thursday he said that when he put it together he didn't like the way it sounded when he cranked it so it would be ready on Friday. On Friday he called and stated that he broke my fuel pipe (line or injector) and it would be ready on Monday.I went there on Friday because I had a full schedule for the weekend that included my car. He told me I was lucky I was getting my car on Monday. I asked him, "How am I LUCKY to be getting my car on Monday when he is the one who broke a part on my car that was not broke when my husband took it there. He then became very rude and insulting. Saying that I better leave or it was going to get very bad.My husband picks my car up on Monday and it has a horrible clicking sound and the gas fumes and what ever the other fumes were caused me not to be able to drive my car because the fumes caused me to be nauseous.My husband took my vehicle back up to him today (Wed) and he was rude stating that he didn't touch that Side of the car. Well a mechanic friend of ours said that he had to have touched it for it to be acting up.I don't know about anyone else, but I am going to take next steps outside of writing this review. He should not be allowed to get away with causing damages to people's personal property.He doesn't deserve to be in business.

Went in and asked if they could test my alternator the RUDE tall guy absolutely would not.From behind the door in his shop he told me it was my battery.I say he was rude because I asked him a question and he said to me, well I'm not out there. That was his exact words.I broke down it was my alternator.I felt discriminated against because have a very old vehicle I'm just a girl trying to fix her truckDon's alternator is not the same place that used to be this is my second trip there . And he was rude then

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. I had my alternator replaced here 2 weeks ago. Today my car started acting up, so I took it to the nearest mechanic, so as to not be left stranded on the side of the road with my 2 young children. The mechanic I took the car to called to tell me that the alternator was hanging on by just 2 threads and that one of the bolts had completely fallen out. I called Don's to let them know, and request reimbursement for repair costs. His answer was, "That's what tow trucks are for. You should have had it brought here if you thought it was the alternator." Of course I didn't think it was the alternator, I just had it replaced!! He was rude, condescending, unprofessional, and then hung up on me. I am a single mother, doing the best I can, and these people won't even stand behind their workmanship for 2 weeks. Do not use these crooks! Take your car ANYWHERE else but here.

Not the old Don's you're used to. Go elsewhere at all costs. Terrible service. Any positive reviews must be from a brother in law or something. The guys replies to people's reviews on here says all you need to know.

For years my family has gone to these folks when our alternators have been in need of service. I used them years ago when I had one rebuilt, and I went back just today to have another alternator checked. He did it quickly, broke it down, and replaced the small piece that caused all my issues. He was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.I will always recommend them. Never had any issue with them and will be returning if I have any further help required.

Just went by to have my battery checked and was told it was fine, two days later my car dies again and I'm immediately told that it's the battery. On top of this, I was charged 45 bucks for them to be wrong about my battery being dead.I would not waste my money on this place if I was you.Services: Battery service, BatteryServices: Battery service, Battery

I bought a battery from him 2 months ago. He did not test the car or battery he just said the battery was bad because of the age. The car left us stranded, we jumped it and got home. Took it back to him he wanted $45 dollars to test the battery he put in 2 months ago. So he does not stand behind his products and serviceService: Battery serviceService: Battery service

Bought an alternator from these guys after friends and family talked about how they were stand up and used to be the best around. Well I can say now that is absolutely not true! The redheaded guy named Kris didn't seem to know what I was talking about after 3 trips describing what was going on with the car, finally told them to "rebuild" the alternator instead of just saying it was fine and that fixed the problem, or so I thought...Now the new alternator or as they claim my old one rattles back and forth when you accelerate or put a load on the belt it sits on. This is not my old alternator however because it fits on the car completely different than the old one did. I'll never use them again!!!!!!

To longtime residents of Orange... this is NOT the Don's Alternator you know and loved. Spend the extra money and just buy a reconditioned part from O'Reilly. This new "owner" seems to enjoy yelling and cussing at customers... especially rude toward "Minorities". Will not stand behind their work at all.

Not sure what has changed but this place has been a circus lately for me. Ive been pretty much accused of not knowing how to put a starter on correctly. Everything has been an inconvenience and now I'm on my 5th trip up there

You gotta watch him with the battery warranties. He'll straight up lie to your face. Call the number on the sticker and confirm before you even head up there.

This is not the place it used to be! I bought a new battery from here 2 months ago. My car is now dead, business owner refused to check my car without charging me. So unprofessional.Service: Battery serviceService: Battery service

A disgraceful business, and a blot on Orange. This is NOT the same shop your parents went to. The new owner was disrespectful, dishonest, and unprofessional! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I do have such good job replacing and fixing your alternator plus giving you a new one with a good warranty that's the best place to go I will go

I left an alternator to be repaired for my 1989 International. Paid $260.00 Though when I tried it out it still had problems.. I went back they wouldn't do anything about it... So I nought one for $300.00 Smart's!

Went to Don's Alternator and was jumped on for waiting outside the gate for service. These people is very rude to the customers. Would not ever go back to this place again.
