I want to start off by saying that the people who own this business are incredibly kind, decent people who genuinely want to help their customers, and send them off having a better day than when they walked in the door. That said, our experience was unique, and although I don't think it represents everyone's, I think it bears sharing.We own a 30' RV trailer that we live and travel in full time. We discovered that one of our two axels was bent and needed to be replaced. But fun fact about RV axels- trailer places and RV places don't usually carry them or keep them in stock, and it's about six weeks to order a new one and get it made. The nearest axel to us was in Idaho. So we decided to have a regular trailer axel shortened and Cason Monk said they'd do it. The axel looked great, and away we went, happy with our experience. About 1,000 miles later though, out in the middle of nowhere between Temple and Gatesville, TX, the hub on one side of the new axel blew off, shearing the spindle and melting the castle nut. Near as we can tell, Cason Monk's service mechanics either didn't fill the hub and spindle with enough grease- or didn't put new grease in it at all. It was a costly, time consuming mistake that we paid for.We ended up calling Cason Monk, not to try to make them liable or take them to task for what happened, but just to let them know so that hopefully, what happened to us doesn't happen to anyone else. People get in a hurry, make mistakes, and don't pay attention like they should. In most cases, it's no big deal. In our case, it was a huge deal. We had a very positive experience dealing with Cason Monk, and I wish things hadn't happened like they did, because like I said, they're genuinely good people and I think it's a good business. Hopefully all parties involved can take this as a learning experience and move forward.
