The Column Shop was above and beyond helpful in fixing what I thought was a complex issue with my truck steering column. My DIY husband put my trucks steering wheel back upside down and didn't want to pull out the whole column again. The Column Shop with greater knowledge corrected that easily! Very nice people too. Thank you Column Shop!

I had a no-start issue with my 92 Camaro. After going over the ignition system (tune-up, D1943A ICM), new distributor, NS32 switch, memcal programming, and troubleshooting, I figured it was the steering column. I tried fixing it myself but it was outside of my expertise. I installed an ignition switch from Auto Zone (LS512), but still, something was wrong. I removed the entire steering column from the Camaro and brought it to The Column Shop. It took several months, but Ken took care of the problem. The column received: a new quality ignition switch, headlight dimmer switch, tilt repair, and a new cover trim. I reinstalled the steering column making sure to reconnect everything we have IGNITION! The Camaro started right away after repeated testing, no problem at all.Many years ago, I had a 90 Camaro with a similar no-start problem. I recall spending hundreds of dollars from one shop to the next (I got ripped off). I should ve brought that vehicle to The Column Shop! I am certain today that the ignition switch/ steering column needed repair in the 90 Camaro.Today, when I insert the key into my 92 Camaro, the mechanical process is smooth and the ignition comes on right away. I will gladly recommend The Column Shop! So, if you have any issue or concern with your vehicle s steering column, go see Ken about it. Had our truck stolen and recently recovered. The column was beat to no end. Way beyond my skills to repair. Found Mr. Ken Helms at The Column Shop and decided to borrow his skills. As others have said, Mr.Ken's skills are second to none. He went above and beyond with the repairs and as far as I'm concerned, was extremely fair with his prices. And from what I have heard, he's really the only guy in town doing this kind of work.Mr. Ken, Thank you. I will be referring my friends and everyone for that matter to you when they are in need.

This is the place to go if your steering column is messed up. Visited Dallas TX from California and someone broke into out truck. They thought they were going somewhere but we have the antilock theft system so the didn't get anywhere. Ken was reasonably priced and kind.

Mr. Ken is the best!!! Took my old school 84 C10 for column repair was good as new $165 bucks. I thought my truck was a classic but turned out Mr.Ken was the true Original!!!

I found The Column Guy while searching on Google for someone to repair a 92 Corvette steering column for one of my customers. I'm so glad I found this man! He did a fantastic job repairing the column. You can tell he is very knowledgeable and loves what he does. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Mesquite/Dallas area.

If you ever have any ignition or steering column issues, I highly recommend this gentleman's shop. My key had been stuck in my ignition for about a week, and found this shop. When dropping the car off the quoted me for $150 but when everything was all said and done, $60. What a guy!

Mr. Ken Helms is one of the finest, honest old school craftsman around. He has repaired my vehicle (stolen twice) with serious damage done both times. Mr. Helms doesn't just do what is asked he goes out of his way to make everything function as well or, in my case better than new. Can't say enough about this fantastic repair artist. Kudos, Mr. Helms!

I have a 1985 monte carlo ss. And was in need of a steering column. Everyone I took it to said it would be hard to find parts for it and that should just buy a new one.Well I decided to try the column shop. When I arrived the owner came out and immediately told me what was wrong. Within two days he had totally rebuilt my steering column with genuine Gm Parts.the price was under $200.00. True professionals. Thanks Guys.
