This place was such a blessing! I had an unfortunate incident with unavoidable road debris and it cracked my transmission. What was even worse is that my insurance fought hard to not have to pay Carter what the damage was worth, but he continued to fight them on my behalf until insurance finally gave a realistic number. Once the agreement was reached, my car was ready within 2 days of them getting the parts shipped in. This is a place that will fight for you and also assure quality work for a fair price. Carter really went above and beyond to keep me informed about the situation, and that was so appreciated. They value their customers here, so just go!!!

Took my car to the shop for a wrench light. I told them I have replaced the accelerator pedal multiple times and it still has the code P2138 I m not sure but I believe it can be the pigtail. They took the car in and said they will try that first. Car still still has same issue. I was charged 360 to change it out. The part was installed in correctly the car ran worse than when dropped off, checked it out and they wired it wrong. I called they said I have to wait 2 days for them to check it out. I didn t leave the car I kept it and check it out. Turns out 2 wires were crossed. It ll takes like 5 min to change the pigtail, I assumed they were going to solder it that s why they charged me a lot but they just used crimps and electrical tape. I am willing to let go that they couldn t fix my car and charging me the pigtail even though that didn t fix the issue. But the 360 charged broken down is, it was 2 hours of labor at 100 an hour and the pigtail. I went back recently a few months after the repair and talked to the owner. He basically said the car is death to a shop if it was easy fix it would ve been fixed, which in that case I wouldn t taken it to the shop in the first place. Personally I don t think I should ve been charged for it since that didn t repair the issue. But I know the shop needs money to run but charging 360 ish for changing a pigtail with crimps and electrical tape? If they would ve charged the actual time to replace the pigtail and the part itself I would let it go a lot easier. If I knew that was going to be the repair I would ve changed it my damn self.I tried to call back the shop for a solution tried to reach the owner but he never called back I had to drive back to the shopI didn t yell at the owner or even raised my voice or used bad language. just told him the situation and he ended with check your frustration level. I am confused as I m sure I m handling it way better than most people would ve in my shoes. Took it to Ford they diagnosed it and fixed it along with getting me a loaner. Not only that Ford didn t charge me for the parts and labor of the parts they replaced that didn t fix the issue. My advise if you can t fix the car yourself take it to the dealer and save your time and money from a place like this

I recently found James and his team at Carter Automotive and they are amazing. I own a company with a fleet of trucks and he has our business moving forward. I ve now had 4 of our fleet vehicles in there in just the last month and greatly appreciate the communication and level of expertise and service with each transaction. I highly recommend them!!

My car still isn t fixed it s in the exact same condition as I brought it in the first day, 2,000 down the drain for nothing. I do not recommend this place at all ! Will never come here again !!!!

Carter has definitely earned my business in the future. I took my van in yesterday to have the ABS repaired and mentioned how they may have to pull my antenna off before pulling it into the bay. I ve got a large CB Antenna on top and the previous place I took it to didn t and bent it. I picked up my van today and got home to notice it s straight now. Apparently they straightened it out without my having to ask. It s the little things like that I notice. They were very kind as well and didn t try to stick me with a huge bill. I ll definitely be back in the future!

We have been using Carter Automotive for 16 years now. Hands down absolute best in the quality of work they perform. I replaced my transmission myself due to a noise I thought I heard from my transmission. After replacing the transmission I heard the exact same noise . Since this shop is a Preferred Shop to work on Jasper products and handle warranty claims I brought it to them. Before going through with the process and spending thousands in the hope that Jasper would reimburse me for the warranty claim, James Carter the owner said I should look at another part just to double check. Low and behold he was correct! In my opinion I wouldn t expect any shop or business to take the care and precautions to watch out for the consumer rather than earn a buck. Thank you James and thank you Carter Automotive.

Most excellent people.They have a great knowledge base.Very nice, friendly, helping.Went over everything with a fine tune comb and did it in record time to boot.They have excellent Work Ethic and professional standards.The shop and office are nice and clean.I'll use them again and recommend them to others

My first visit here. Came to get an inspection done. I was greeted by a very friendly young man. My wait wasn't long. And they got my inspection done in only like 10 minutes, which was awesome causw I had my 7 month old with me. And the lady that checked me out was so nice. Great customer service.

We took our car in to have a front end issue checked out June 8, 2021. The owner was told about a shaking steering wheel, rattling sound in the front end, as well as something feeling loose under the pedals. He was told the car pulls to the right and the rattling/shaking gets worse at higher speeds. We made sure he knew we were leaving for a family vacation and needed the vehicle to be road worthy for a long trip. James took a quick look and said all we needed was an alignment and balance. My husband took the car in a couple of days later to have the recommended work performed. When the car was picked up from the shop, James told my husband it was still pulling to the right. He said he double checked the alignment and it was straight. He blamed the pulling on some minor body damage on the right quarter panel. We left for our road trip a couple of days later. Two hours into our trip the vehicle lost control on the highway.My family could have died because of the negligence and ineptitude of the owner/mechanic. Our vehicle lost steering control and veered hard right off of I-20 going 70 mph because of a broken rack and pinion. When I went to the shop to discuss the matter, I was verbally assaulted and bullied by James. He should have noticed the rack and pinion was bad. We needed much more than just an alignment and balance. We had to pay towing fees in addition to getting another alignment after the rack and pinion steering was properly repaired in Marshall, TX.Service: Wheel alignment

I wouldn t recommend this shop to anyone,I ask you to call me about my car issues based off what I wanted you to fix instead you tell me my motor lock and charged me 100$ to get my car,Heartless,no empathy just all about the money,didn t fix anything,told me you were able to do the job when all alone you knew you couldn t. If only I could give 0 stars

My parents move to Mesquite from the country. Started having issues with both cars. We took both cars to them and they were able to fix them with low cost and didn t mess around. Very friendly, called before fixing the car and repaired. This place will surely have our business! Well recommended! nnn

Dang, I just had a good feeling about this place but I was wrong. James said since he kind of knew what was wrong that I could actually bring it in Thursday to work on it so I told them on Wednesday that I would be there first thing in the morning because she said first come first serve, and i was first. As I was leaving she said I was gonna pull it in the garage right away and get on it though at the end of the day they had done nothing. Didn t seem to really even care, not even a fake apology as I went to pick up my car. unfortunate.

The two times I have been to Carter, he has been a straight shooter about my vehicle, given me quality work and his pricing is always extremely fair. Both times, my quotes from him have been about half the price of the quotes from the corporate owned shops I checked at beforehand. I will definitely be back to C.A.R.S. in the future and have already let all my friends know that he is the man to go see.

I have a 2014 Mercedes GLK350 SUV. I called around for several Quotes for Front Brake/Rotors estimates. Carter Automotive was competitive and a mile from my home, so I decided to give them a try. I dropped vehicle off and the job was complete within a few hours. Almost two months later no squeaking and Suv stops on a dime. I would recommend to anyone who wants quality auto repairs. Job well done.

I Did not use this shop transmission went out on durrango diagnose took about 3 days no sense of urgency move to another shop carter's was going to charge me 5200 dollars got done 2 days 2200 dollars 3000 savings

Carter's has replaced the rear end in my 2002 F150 and has performed other services on my other vehicles (oil changes ,inspection, and tires on my 2016 F250). Great Shop! I learned my lesson from taking my truck to the dealer. Dealer shop over filled my truck with oil and when I called them on it they offered me a free oil and filter change (after a long discussion). I guarantee they only gave me oil and no filter. Cough, cough, town east ford. RUN from town east ford, the 17 year olds that work there will ruin your vehicle.

Brought my 2015 SS Camaro for re-alignment after I installed BMR performance suspension. Great people! Nothing but perfection and professionalism. Highly recommend them!
