The team at Honest-1 did a great job fixing my Jetta. I came in with a check engine light and they diagnosed the issue, fixed it, and had me on my way quicker than I expected. They were honest, upfront, and clear in their communication with what s happening and worked with me on the options I had moving forward. I will definitely be back for any future maintenance and repairs needed for my car and will definitely recommend them to anyone that needs a good honest service technician for their car.

While the problem I came in for wasn t resolved, Kyle and his team went through multiple diagnostic steps to identify the issue. It was so refreshing in today s world of unnecessary repairs to have them say that they had done all they could and that I would be better served to go and see a specialist. They communicated with me every step of the way and earned my respect and my return business. Excellent job.

Great first experience here. From the friendly lady that answered my call, to the thoroughness of the mechanic, to the service advisor, Kyle, they were top notch. After recently having a bad experience at BrakesPlus, (they replaced my pads for $600 and not my 10 year old rotors, even though I suggested they probably needed to be replaced and three months later the brakes were vibrating so bad it s scary to drive), I am relieved to have found a personalized, trustworthy place to take my 10-year-old Honda. Kyle was very open and honest about what was important to take care of now and what issues may be coming up in the future, which I appreciate as a single mom. The prices were very reasonable and I didn t feel like I was being hustled. My brakes are fixed, my a/c is blowing ice cold and the suspicious noise that the other place couldn t diagnose is gone. I ve already told one of my single mom friends about them. Ladies, if you dread taking your car to the mechanic, give them a try. You won t regret it!

Great consistency on the phone and ability to keep the time and price as expected on service on my vehicle. No surprises and straight forward experience meeting expectations. Didn't exceed expectations either but hard to do in this space unfortunately. I would go back to them for my future needs.

This team really went out of there way to research the root cause, give me step by step updates so I never wondered how the work was progressing. Finally the walked me through the technical details and gave me options. I highly recommend this mechanic team. I am pretty reserved at giving top reviews.

I have trusted Honest 1 for years. They are thorough and do excellent work. They talk to you about issues found and help you decide what is urgent. When you have financial constraints they help make a plan to get your car taken care of in a manner that keeps you on the road and safe. I just picked up my truck today and I expected it to take a week to repair due to holidays and extent of what I needed( dropped off Monday) and it was all ready to go before Thanksgiving! You really can t beat their quality and professionalism. Their waiting room is excellent as well! Clean and comfortable if you wind up hanging out to wait!

Went in to get my rear brake pads and rotors replaced. Collin was extremely friendly and knowledgeable over the phone, and the techs handled my car with care. I was quoted over the phone, and my car was in and out! They also applied discounts/coupons advertised on the company s website to my bill! This place has amazing pricing and a wonderful staff! 10/10, highly recommend!Services: Auto brake repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Auto brake replacement

I ve been taking my car here for over a year now. Always impressed with the quality of work and the friendliness of the staff!!Update for 2024. Now going on two years of always great service! I have never had to return because something wasn t fixed correctly the first time. I have used Honest A-1 in McKinney for several years now and I can say without hesitation that they always do a great job for a fair price. They are also great at letting me know if something needs to be done immediately or can wait which is definitely helpful in this economy! I rarely write reviews, but took the time, as they are definitely worthy of a great recommendation!

They were informative and explained everything that they find wrong with with my vehicle. I took it there for a second opinion and it was the same problem. I appreciate their honesty, eventhough it was news I didn't want to hear. They send pictures and explanations to your phone. I will trust this company with any more issues with my car going forward.

Mixed emotions never fail me when dealing with Honest 1. Broken or nearly broken vehicles are never fun or convenient, but I know who to trust to get them back on the road. Honest 1 earns my trust with every oil change or repair. Give them a shot, you won t be disappointed.

My 18 year old car broke down on the side of 75 and was towed to another shop where it just sat there for 4 days. I finally gave up on that shop and had it taken to Honest-1 Auto Care. They got it in and out in 2 days and that included having to obtain a hard to get part only available from the dealer. Kyle was very pleasant to deal with, and this shop earned all my business going forward.

Did a complete diagnostic on my car that I did not request, then quoted me a ridiculous amount on repairs I didn't need. Went to another shop that fixed the actual problem and charged me a 5th of what Honest-1 Auto Care quoted me. This shop seems to be for people that know very little about cars that can be charged more than they than should be.

Kyle and the team at Honest 1 auto care did phenomenal!!! They went above and beyond to fix my car, Kyle clearly communicated what the issues were and the best way to resolve them, most importantly, Kyle stayed in constant communication with me so I was informed of every step.Thank you all for taking care of my baby Velma! I am a widow with a 2007 Trailblazer, with 158,000 miles. I have used many mechanics over the last 17 years. I searched the internet and found Honest 1 Auto Care, their reviews seemed too good to be true. They are remarkablely fast, gave me an accurate diagnosis, found my mystery noise without me even telling them (after my last mechanic said he could here it but didn't know what it was) I thought, I will just have to live with it until it breaks. At Honest 1, I was kept updated and it was ready the next day. I was surprised because the issues were many. I was pleased with the total bill and left feeling I had been treated fairly. The staff is friendly and not condescending. I have found a truely honest auto care. They are number 1 as their name implies: Honest 1 Auto Care.Sincerely, Cheryl McCartney

As always Collin was honest and fixed my son s car in just couple of hours. Saved me over 300$ by being honest! Been a customer for over 3 yrs have repaired my vehicle my 2 sons mother and Aunts. Would not use any other shop.

Charged me a diagnostic fee despite not being able to pinpoint the source of my problem.Let them repair something else that a previous mechanic had already told me needed to be repaired (which I had told Honest-1, so I don t feel they are entitled for payment for diagnosing that problem when I m the one who told them it needs to be replaced). They also did not do an alignment after replacing a hub assembly on my car.Drove off the lot with my car still making noise. Took my car to the previous mechanic (Firestone) who made the noise go away for free.Now I m feeling like Honest-1 jipped me $700.

Absolutely stole $400+ from me.Visited them in September 2023 because my A/C was not working properly. They informed it was just time to recharge the refrigerant and it would be around $430. I said this seemed steep and they said it would be $120 if I did nothing and just picked the car back up for their diagnostic fee, they gave a big pitch about why it cost so much for this type of refrigerant and their work includes a warranty and yada yada. I said fine go ahead. At which point I looked up Autozone's cost for a can of the refrigerant with a gauge and it was $150. So I called them to tell them not to do the work, I would just do it myself. A full 8 minutes had passed and they said "sorry, he's already finished and parking it now." $430 for 8 minutes of work must be nice especially when they don't stand behind it at all.Fast forward to the end of February, it finally had a day warm enough for me to turn my a/c on again and now it's doing the same thing it was when I brought it in. Called them up and they said yes I'm still in the warranty. Take the car in. They determine there is indeed a leak in the valve and argued with me for having the car for a few months since the last time, I informed them that the months between September and February are known as winter and I hadn't been using the A/C. They agreed to honor their service warranty and fix the leak but asked me to pay for the lost refrigerant which is magically now only $108 lol. I was about to resign and agree when Kyle kept on about how the leak wasn't present in September, I told him I think it could have been because that's a big coincidence, at which point he then scoffs and said FINE WE WILL JUST FIX IT THEN. When I went to pick up the car he handed me the card for another mechanic as a way to say he didn't want my business anymore, which was never ever ever in danger anyway.Now HERE I AM JUST A FEW WEEKS LATER and guess what isn't working again? So congratulations on the $430 for a job you clearly did not do. I'll find somewhere else to fix it this time. If this was the type of service I provided in my work I would be ashamed of myself. I cannot recommend against them strongly enough, they should scrape the "Honest" sign off their building and just be Negative One Auto Care because that's what you get with them.

Great experience they kept me informed and was really quick on the repair. I would definitely come back. They also provided a lost of urgent and non urgent problems that need to be taken care of. I feel all car repairs are expensive but they were reasonable.

I made an appointment for a brake check and resolve a noise when accelerating. It took 2.5 hours to replace rear brakes and rotors. The noise was resolved the next day. The waiting room was comfortable and I was glad to have the wifi, coffee and snacks. I also got a quote for all other maintenance that is possible in the future.

Very thorough process from start to finish. I received a detailed document with urgent and non urgent items to be fixed. They were very punctual, personable, and my vehicle is running better than it has in years. Definitely would recommend. Seriously, the diagnostic feedback was the best I ve ever received from a mechanic shop.

Great work done - 1st repair shop that has ever sent me a comprehensive assessment of the vehicle with clear recommended levels of repair and photos to confirm what the mechanic saw. Glad I switched over to Honest-1.

Super nice people work there first and foremost. Was worth the price because they got the work done in less than 6 hours. If I took this to dealership it was going to be a week at best. So worth a little extra to get it done same day. Thank you!

Competitive prices compared to other shops in the area. Focused on providing good service and will discuss issue with the vehicle in detail to help customer decide what they would like to fix. Not pushy to add additional services especially if they are unnecessary.

I always go to Honest-1 Auto Care for my vehicles' needs. I like the way they inform their customers of what repairs they need to do. Aside from just a verbal explanation, they also send you pictures of the parts where repairs are needed, along with their recommendations. That's pretty useful for a visual guy like myself. Poor service. Poor expectations. Went in for an oil change then when I came back to pick up my car they recommended $3100 worth of stuff done to my car. Total cash grab of an operationSaid the oil change would take an hour but it took 2 1/2 hours.
