They are very friendly and professional, they get your vehicle out fast and will go above and beyond. One of the best auto shop experience I have had ever in my 20 years in McKinney. They do their best to keep you informed on the progress of work and give their best opinion. We need more private businesses like this in McKinney they deserve the highest consumer award this year hands down. Brakes plus, Firestone and dealership these guys leave them all in the smoke, wish they had been around sooner.

After driving from Albuquerque, NM to Allen, TX, I noticed what appeared to be water leaking under the front passenger side of my vehicle . (A 2002 Ford Focus Wagon SE)I was referred to Family Automotive by a nearby Ford Dealership.I explained that I intended to drive my older car further across the country and needed it to be in the best condition possible in order to make it to my destination in Georgia.Their excellent services for repairs and parts replacement made driving two days through four states, huge cities, and mind-boggling traffic a worry free success.

My complaint is not about their ability to make repairs to a vehicle, but rather the dishonesty and finagling I experienced! Some of their services are definitely too pricey in comparison with other places at the same, or even above this shop s level. In my experience, I really felt lied to and taken advantage of. Overall it s probably in one s best interest to do business with a more reputable, honest and trustworthy repair shop!

I would just like to say thank you to DJ and James for helping me out today. I came in having a problem with my car saying that I needed break fluid. Mind you I don t know anything about cars but I feel like they gave the best customer service ever. They were super nice. They figured out the problem and they got it done I also love that they left me a little something in my car.I will be definitely coming back but thank you again

DJ was so wonderful and helpful! Even though his taste in football teams is awful(cowboys) he fixed up this single moms car with the best team ever(chiefs) in the window!!! Definitely recommend! He also enjoyed my young living diffuser in the car! Can t say enough thanks to DJ for his stellar and highly efficient work! Also, their price still beats the Dealer s even after Subaru America Customer Advocate covers 50% of the Dealer repair cost . I brought in my 3-year-old Subaru Outback-Limited for passenger seat sensor replacement due to part defect. I was scared for getting another crazy expensive quote again. However , the experience with DJ was amazingly wonderful. No pressure from getting quote to schedule actual repair at all . When the work was completed , he called me right way and helped me save over a hundred dollars for the Labor cost ! I paid less than the original quote. My car SRS light is gone now and seat sensor works. I feel so lucky to find family AutoCare and met DJ such an approachable, trustworthy Manger/mechanic. Thanks again DJ and Family Auto.

My Jeep Compass was not always starting. After 2 starters and 6 tows a stranger who stopped to help after the auto idle turned car off and it wouldn t start again in traffic gave me this business. I called him at 7:30pm. He help with a cheaper tow with better service. Now you re not gonna believe what happened next. He asked me to text me my address and the next day, he came to my house to work on the car!!!! While he did not fix then I had it towed again to his shop. Fixed what the Jeep dealership could not fix and another shop could not fix. Paid him 300 for the fix. 6 tows, a started I may have not needed. Dealership fee to look at. A total of over 1k. Will make this call first next time. Best service I ve had in my 53 years on the planet. They get it.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I've known DJ for a while and he recommended his new auto business in Mckinney. Over all they did a great job and i would recommend but think price was a bit too high for spark plugs and fuel cap change. Over all I give them a 4 rating and great customer service. I can t say enough great things about Family AutoCare & Repair! Made an appointment for 8am and they actually got me in at 8. Never have I been seen at the exact time anywhere else. DJ took care of me every step of the way. Got my oil changed and then I asked to get my filters changed after he didn t hesitate and took my car back to get it done. The customer service is first rate! Very attentive to my car needs and no outrageous car quotes and charges. DJ took time to explain exactly what My car needed and what they could do to fix it. Dealer quoted about $2,500 to fix our AC problem, so we kept delaying the repair. Then I went to a local shop & they too said that dealer may be the only option but suggested that we check this other place first, but I ended up getting to "Family Auto Care & Repair" by accident, which was a blessing. DeJuan & his team suggested to replace a relay first ... that fixed my problem. So instead of paying $2500 to the dealer, these folks fixed the problem for $50. Family Autocare & Repair is the best automotive repair shop I have been to in my life time. The place I previously used went out of business a few years ago. Since I found this place I have been more than pleased as they have been more honest than anywhere I have been. They tell the truth about how bad your repair is needed without embellishing or stretching the truth. They give realistic options and try to work with you. I have sent several people to them and have never been embarrassed. I will send my kids to this shop and trust them with my family and check book. I started using these guys several years ago because even though I have a nice car I hate being taken advantage of by the dealership labor rates and selling me things I don't always need. I would typically take my car to the dealership for major repairs like engine internals or transmission. These guys have done just about everything on my late model Denali including pulling the engine and heads to replace the lifters to trim work.One thing about an auto repair shop, they are only as good as their reputation. I can tell you that I have used DJ and Ray the last few years and will never go anywhere else as long as they own an auto repair shop.1. They are ALWAYS honest with me about my options.2. Ray has been taking care of me and my car for years. He is kind, humble, knowledgeable and Way Beyond Fair in his pricing. I will never go anywhere else. When my car died the other day I feared the worst as my car is older. But Ray had me up and running again after many hours of diagnostic which he didn't even charge me for. Raymond was very helpful and fast! He helped me with a coolant problem in my car and everything is working great and he did it in a short period of time! I couldn t be any happier than going to Raymond s shop! HIGHLY recommend!
