Diagnosed the issue with my car WRONG. Brought in to replace back breaks and said it was my front right wheel hub was in need of replacing, Lost 300$ to replace for that to not be the problem. when it was actually my breaks like i said. Don t recommend unless you want to spend more money than needed.

Took longer than expected to replace my tires and when I got my vehicle back my tire pressure sensor light has yet to turn off and before it was just fine I would not recommend going here.

Do not take your vehicle to these people. I took my youkon in for an alignment and they took all day putting people in front of me as I waited. When I finally got it back I got it on the highway and the steering wheel is crooked as they are. It pulls to the right and the tires are not straight up and down. Got up under it and found the only bolts touched were to set the tow. Called for a refund and the manager said they do not refund alignments. Avoid this place.

I only say 4 and not 5 because my apt time was 3 pm and literally didn't pick my vehicle up till 645 for a simple fluid change. Overall very nice people up front and handled everything respectfully. Will be back.

What a great place to visit, I am so happy for the new management. This place needed some good people in it. Doug and Orion do an outstanding job of professional, courteous and efficient work. They do it with a smile and have full attention to their customers. I highly recommend this place to ANYBODY who wants to be treated with polite friendly service. And being a female I never felt pressured or taken advantage of. GREAT JOB PEPBOYS!!!!!!!!

Run from these people! They would create more problems for your car and still make you pay . Lies & manipulation from the Doug the manager ,to protect himself and his boys . Don't go there!!!!!Took my wife's SUV there , for something as simple as Evap leak . They replaced a gas cap with fake aftermarket cap and never did evap leak test, technician clear the check engine code without solving the problem, 2 days later the error came back with same problem. But they charged 100% for that . Took the suv to Toyota, the original cap was installed, evap leak test was done successfully. Problem solved!!!At the same time these guys broke the wheel bearing plate of my Tundra , using the wrong tool, trying to take out the wheel bearing assembly,. And eventually made me go to Toyota dealership to fix my problem. Toyota confirmed with pictures ,that pep boys broke my wheel plate when trying to to replace the bearing . Payed $1000 to have the bearing removed at toyota dealership .. I mean if you don't have the right tool ,why damage someone's car and expect that customer to go fix the problem themselves at dealership,... these are clueless technicians ,will get your money and make you spend extra more to go fix your problems elsewhere. 2 days was wasted. Although Doug credit me for the plate his technician damaged, but I still spent more to have it solved at dealership, . Why waste my time and money , when you could have said the truth and save me time at the beginning??.

The tires I bought was a good price for the black Friday special, but be aware of the long wait. I made an appointment online and was offered a ride, the wait will be an hour and half or longer. I waited, how was i going to go back and pick up my car? Plus I was disappointed that the tires, they looked used instead of new. There was some kind of white stuff rubbed all over the rim and tire. But like the saying goes you get what you pay for!

Went in for a wheel alignment,got out of there in under 30 minutes. Thought I'd be in there at least an hour minimum, not so. Great job even greater employees. This is the place to go to.Thanks I will keep you in mind I need an alignment.

I got my oil change Sunday 11/12/23. I made a 10am appointment because that is now required. When Marcus (former manager) worked there, I never needed appointments. They always got me in and out in under a hour.My 10am appointment got me out at 11:50. Telling me they are short handed. Why give me an appointment????Having to leave I didn't check their work. I had to go back on Monday to get an inspection sheet. How is it that nothing is needed, since I have not changed my hoses that was listed before as needing a change.They didn't put the sticker up for my next oil change date. One of the guys (with red hair. Forgot his name) came out to do it. So I decided to check my cabin air filter. He tells me "that my filter in the picture is not dirty and doesn't need to be changed. He says many cars have worst filter. And that this filter can go 20k. If I think it needs to be changed it is my "progrative"". He turned around and walked away.Never Again will I give PepBoys my business, neither should anyone else.

Never going there again. Worst kind of customer service and very rude manager at our store in Lubbock. I came for a oil change and they hey broke my oil filter cover and I was without a car for a day. When I asked about the cost of Synthetic oil change cost, the manager Douglas said it would be $89 USD, however, even with 25% coupon the manager charged me $106 and was very rude when I asked about the charge. I got my tires from them last year and yesterday for my oil change and had to pay $106. I will never go there and will ask my friends to avoid this place at any cost.

It's 4pm and I'm planning to hit the road tomorrow morning- towing another vehicle back home- so I came to Doug's shop and requested an alignment and tire rotation....Doug did hint that it was late in the day, and that the morning would be a better time, yet he still asked me what time i was planning on heading out....Seeing as how I plan on leaving at 8am, he put me right in line; with his technician, Bryce, also agreeing to do the tire rotation, since it would already be lifted for the alignment....And as it turns out, the tire rotation is a free service!....What a blessing!....So if great service and reasonable pricing is what you're looking for, check out Doug and Bryce at the Pep Boy's, over off the South Loop 289....They'll get you fixed up nicely!....

Scheduled 5 days ago to have tires put on my wife's Explorer. Pep Boys sent a confirmation email and a courtesy text as her appointment drew closer (that's awesome). She arrives and is told that they only have 3 tires in stock! Wait, what, we had a confirmed appointment? Thanks for wasting our time and, we still don't have tires on her car. Unfortunately , we won't be customers of Pep Boys any longer.

Hadn't done business with Pep Boys before, but saw they were open until 7p and in a convenient location, so we went in to get a tire patched. Walked in about 5:30p and was told "we're done" as they were closing up an hour and a half early. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed or what, but I won't bother with Pep Boys again.

I went in for an inspection, it was all good, it said it came with a cleaning and a carfax report, I didn t get either of those but okay whatever. I called three times about the carfax and they said they d do it within twenty minutes, never did. Also in those 3 calls AND in person during the inspection I asked for an itemised quote they said all 4 times they d do it within 20-30 minutes; not a single email, even tried emailing them, nothing at all. I spent money on something that included a $40 carfax and didn t receive it, and also never received a quote. Its as if they didn t want my money, I can see why this place has low ratings but I ignored it for the cheaper inspection. Don t, just avoid itEDIT: I emailed them twice like they requested me to and they never responded. Its just a ploy to comment on every negative review to make kt seem like they care

Disappointing experience with the manager, Doug, at the Pep Boys in Lubbock. His attitude was rude, sarcastic, and argumentative. I had scheduled their tire installation package, but he sold the tires that were supposed to be mounted onto my vehicle. What made matters worse was that the manager did not offer any solution or remedy for the situation. It was also frustrating to learn that they didn't have a full set of any other tires in stock.

So I took it in for the 120 point inspection, so many wrong things were said.1. i never got my carfax after asking 4 times2. I never got a quote to fix stuff up after asking 4 times3. I was told there was a coolant leak, so I checked it out, saw no leaks, thought maybe it could be internal or something I m missing so I spent another $70 at another mechanic just for them to tell me that there was no leak and that they were probably just trying to take advantage of me. No puddle or anything, also said the coolant levels were low, these people said it was all good. The other place has 4.7 stars too so they re a little more trust worthy, I spent $75 on a 120 point inspection just for them to do a lousy job, misdiagnose it, and not even provide me with a quote/carfax.

The folks at Pep Boys did an excellent job installing my two new tires. Unfortunately, it was 2 hours after the original time that I booked the appointment for. It was not their fault ... They were clearly understaffed....perhaps the e-commerce group needs to consider staffing when allowing appointments to be booked.

Stopped by yesterday was told that it would be a good 3 hours plus wait but come back at 4;30. No wait wheel ailments, & shocks inspection for free. Went back at 4:30 appointment made for tomorrow. Just left because of $40 fee not free and it would be a bit until they could get it it. Wishing you can give negative stars , get them to write it down!

4 hours should be adequate time to fix a flat tire right? I set an appointment for 12:30 today. When I arrived, the guy at the computer completely ignored me for a solid 5 minutes. Not even "hello. I'll be right with you."Finally the other guy comes in from the bays to ask his workmate what he wanted for lunch. And he asked me how he could help. Told him I was checking in for my appointment. He let me know that it was just the two of them today and they're WAY behind and not sure how long it would take. I told him fine just keep me updated as they close at 5. At 4:05 I hadn't heard anything so I called the shop. No answer. Called again no answer.I drove to the shop and my car had not moved from the parking lot. I went in to see if it would be finished before 5 since they close then and my wife needs her car before tomorrow for work. He was on the phone I'm assuming working with another customer. He told me he was not sure when it would be ready but it would be ready today. I wasn't sure when that would be so I just decided to take my car back home.Again, am I crazy or does it take that long to fix a puncture in the tread?Why have an appointment system if you can't keep your appointments? Anyway. I don't figure I'll be back.

I went on Sunday just after they opened. I had an oil change. Service was fast. Oil change includes free tire rotation and filter change. I used online $10 coupon. I would recommend them.

Do not take your vehicle to pep boys. They get in a hurry to get your vehicle out and don't do a good or accurate job. I'm a mechanic and I know that the work they do there is trash. They couldn't even align my vehicle, they literally gave it back with my steering wheel crooked. I'll never recommend it.

I been going to pep boys car service for over 8 years now and if my auto needs workI have always got the best service at pep boys Lubbock on south loop 289 they will get your auto running in less then a day. Pep boys is the only place I trust for work on my autos and I highly recommend them10 ++++ customer serviceThe managers and staffHave amazing service

Went online to schedule an appointment for an oil change this past Sunday for 3pm and when I got there it was a hand written sign on the door saying Pep boys was closed. No call ahead of time to communicate the store was closing early at all or that my appointment was needing to be rescheduled. Very disappointing pep boys.

I have to express how helpful the crew at pepboys was. I came in because I needed an oil change, and my car was making a loud rattling noise. I explained to my best what the sound, sounded like and where it was coming from. The manager immediately knew the problem. The manger also advised me on how save money fixing the problem. So not only did I get my oil change the replaced the part of the car that was broken, but also fixed my eco setting for free. I highly recommend these guys..

I ordered tires online and I was not told until I arrived to pick them up that I had to pay cash. I was told that I can use my credit card for all other services but that I could not use my credit card for tires. The reason given was fraud. I am unclear as to how tire pickup is more fraud applicable than using my card for any other service. I had to make an unnecessary bank visit to get the cash for the purchase; I am sure that most people do not carry >$300.00 in cash with them. Not to worry as I will never use Pep Boys again due to this discriminant. Richard Winn Colonel USAF Retired.

After they were done changing the rediator for $1600 they parked the car so the front bumper would drag on the concrete parking stop. It damaged my bumper. Told them but they said nothing.

A while ago I went here for a grinding noise and shaking my 2013 Honda made and I m still so pissed over how my ignorance on cars was taken advantage of.At first I was told that there was no grinding noise at all after they drove it around.Then I was told that the problem was that both my tie rods were worn useless and I needed to replace them both.I was told I needed to replace them both then and there. I asked if I could replace only the one that was worse, and was told I needed to immediately replace the left one but I could replace the right one within a month, although it wouldn t last much longer than that.So I paid over $200 for the tie rod replacement and labor for the left part. My bf told me it was incredibly rare to have to replace a tie rod on a car ever, and that the noise wasn t consistent, and he thought I got taken advantage of.The car started making the terrible noise again less than a week later. I took it to a different place and told them about the diagnosis from pep boys and they reiterated what my bf said but said they d check it out.Lo and behold the right rod that needed to be replaced within a month ASAP was 100% in perfect condition. They said it looked practically new (and yes they checked both) and that Pepboys probably didn t know or didn t believe me on the noise (that this new mechanic heard too) and just tried to sell me a part instead of putting in the effort.And the other shop actually fixed the problem.Im aware I m a clueless idiot when it comes to cars which is why I took it to professionals. I trusted this location just to be screwed out of money I never needed to spend. After talking to the complaint line for Pep-boys I believe they refunded the part price but I still had to pay for the labor, like $100, the labor that was only done in the first place to get money out of me and to get me out of their shop.
