Paid $8000 for a NEW motor and instead got a used motor with multiple issues and it took him 3 months just to get it finished. It immediately had issues the day I picked it up and Mike refused to honor the warranty! Not only that he ruined my paint job and cosmetically damaged my vehicle! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!

THE BEST mechanic in Lubbock. We take all 4 of our cars here and we have never had a bad experience with them or their work. Everyone is always so nice and honest that alone is hard to find now a days. I've never felt like they were after our money or just trying to make a sale. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to ANYONE and EVERYONE! We'll continue to take all our cars here! Thank you to everyone at Monkey Mike's.

Great customer service! Called in because I had a flashing check engine light and had a bad misfire and they got my car back on the road within a day at a great price. Mr. Monkey Mike got my Ram 3500 in and out fast!! Best prices around Lubbock and best service! The owner Mike is great! He is very educational to what I needed to get my truck running right without other useless mechanical fixtures. He is very reasonable about prices and does not over charge compare to other places! He also does not wait all day to get your vehicle fixed. Would not take my trucks to any other where else. After being told by the dealership that it would be 3 or 4 days to have a new part put on (even though I had the part), I couldn t do it myself without the proper tools. I went to someone else. Mike's team was friendly and more than willing to help. The team was willing to listen to the issue I was having and was able to complete the work.I had a part that needed to be replaced, and mike's team took care of it quickly. After leaving the store my check engine light came on again... I called mike and told me to bring it right back. Turns out the sensor wasn t plugged in correctly, but mistakes happen. If you need something done in a reasonable amount of time, go here. Nice people that aren t trying to up sale everything.

Let me start off with thank you! To the wife of the owner you are amazing for getting my car in such short notice I'm Amazed!!! I always leave the shop with a big smile because my car drives so much better. I only take my car to Monkey Mike's for the fact that they are honest also the environment is so welcoming, and friendly that is a major Plus for me. GOOD ENERGY ALL AROUND. Had my a/c repaired there lots of leaks and debris problems.Monkey Mike fixed them all. Wonderful to finally have my a/cback because it is so hot out there Wonderful person to work with.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR CAR REPAIRS, the owner mike is extremely unprofessional about his business and unhonest about his work. I had problems with my car he said I needed a new engine, I bought it and expected for my car to be fixed in a timely manner. I barely received calls here and there and finally a call that said my car was ready and fixed. I PAID for the service and got into my car, I went to the store and came back my car would not start!!! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, FRUSTRATED AND DISGUSTED by the way this business is ran!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Mike was amazing in diagnosing why a check Guages light was coming on, on our old 2003 Dodge. He went above and beyond to help this old lady figure out what needed to be done and he is quite literally the kindest person. My wife brought our Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a minor sensor issue and they repaired it within the day. The check engine light came on a week later so I took it back (nothing noticeable). They said the fuel pump needed replacing, and that took 2 days. A week later, the jeep was having trouble starting and running extremely rough. I took it to another mechanic and they said the fuel pump wasn t installed correctly, and that we weren t the first people to say they had issues with monkey mikes. They said the owner isn t on top of his mechanics. Since we couldn t drive it and needed it that day, we had the other mechanic fix it (at this point, I don t trust Monkey Mike s anyway). We talked to them and they re refusing to do anything to make it right. They deserve this review.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I waited for ten minutes and no one ever came to the desk to help me. I could see the workers standing around on their phones. I just had a simple question. They lost my business and I'll tell everyone I know not to bother them as their phones are clearly more important than customers.

Went to Mike s after being told no one else could help me and they didn t know what the problem was. Mike had my car diagnosed within 5 mins of telling him the issue. We were back on the road within an hour. Reasonably priced and very knowledgeable ! If I could rate this place a zero I would. My car was drivable but wouldn't go above 20 mph I replaced numerous of things over time, was running great just some small issues with the intake. I take it here hoping they can narrow it down. For 1. I drop the car off at 8am as soon as they open and never heard from them, called around closing time for them to tell me they didn't get to my car. Next day they call me and tell me I need a whole new motor it was gonna cost $5,180 for a used one 7,000 for a new one, my timing chain was bad and that it was gonna Cost thousands. Soon as I hear this I pick up my car take it to another mechanic who had it for 8 hours calls me and says it's my vvt actuator fixes it and charges me $152. My car has been driving better then ever. I would NOT recommend this place.

Highly recommended. Having one's car break down when visiting a new town is always a serious problem-- you never know who you can trust. I had a water line blow out when travelling through Lubbock, and a local resident recommended I see Monkey Mike. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and got my car into his shop the very same day. I was very happy with the successful repairs he made, and the fees were very reasonable-- he didn't try to charge me for anything extra I didn't need, as many other shops would have. If you need expert auto repairs at a reasonable price, don't waste time anywhere else-- just go see Monkey Mike and he'll take good care of you.

Great. friendly, quick service, I had run off the road and bend the cradle suspension on my rear tire, they had it fixed in less than 4 hours.I will be coming back

Took vehicle in for front transmission seal repair, they also found an issue with engine oil cooler while inspecting vehicle and notified us. Really happy with our choice to use this facility! Fair prices and honesty! Took care of all the claims with warranty company for us. Will definitely come here again for future repairs needed!

The owner was extremely nice, so a two is worth it. My husband is a mechanic, but was out of town, when my water pump gave out. I knew exactly what it was. Took hours to get someone to answer the phone, but once they did I told them what was wrong with my car, myself. He calls back two hours later to tell me exactly what I told him on top of throwing in my timing belt would also need to be replaced, as well. Quoted me almost $2,500 to fix both, because the engine would need to be dropped to fix it. I decided just to wait it out and find someone else. To find out my timing belt was perfectly fine, water pump, as I had originally said just needed to be changed and nothing else was wrong with my car.. also the right wheel just needed to be removed to replace the water pump, engine didn't need to be dropped. This place is over charging and saying things are wrong when they aren't. Nice staff, but not honest. I would be mindful about going here.

Yesterday I had to get my car looked at. I took it to Monkey Mikes on 66th and University and they were taking all the right precautions. There were signs everywhere about wearing a mask, hand sanitizer available in the lobby, they had the front desk blocked off to enforce 6 foot distancing even from the employees and the employee wore their mask properly, the entire time. Not only did they have great protocols in place to keep customers safe, but they were great to work with and were very honest and fair. For some unknown reason, a few weeks ago my car wouldn't start, I tried jumping it a couple times and nothing would happen, I had to wait till I had enough money to tow it and when I did I just towed it to the nearest place (monkey mikes). I don't know what happened between when it wouldn't start and today but when they took a look at it, it started right up. I still had them check it over but they said it was working fine and there were no codes. They could have "found" things to fix and taken advantage of the fact that I don't know anything about cars. As a single mom, it's always nerve wrecking to take my car to get fixed, I've been ripped off a number of times, so I really appreciated that they were so honest, and they absolutely cared about keeping their customers safe. I highly recommend this shop if you are needing any repairs done.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Disgusting work schedule. I had to go there. I left my car om Wednesday. The, on Thursday I called them and they told me that it would be ready by Friday. On Friday, they closed at 4 pm and closed all of the weekend. They ruined my weekend. I never never never return to them for any service and recommend it for anybody. There are some other better auto shop around.Service: A/C installation & repair

The people were really nice..but I took my car to their shop because it would not go. They Never call you back even when they say they will , you will have to hunt them down to hear results. I was charged 700 bucks and told they did engine repairs.. it was not all for the engine. a 58$ oil change!!! and something with my air conditioner and engine thermostat.. which by the way was not over heating! I left that lot and called about pricing for whatever was left on the car.. was told they would call back "they did not!" Not a few days later it was going out on me and I was out 700 bucks. Was over charged for unnecessary things, Thanks for nothing.

I took my car in at 8 am to have the a/c recharged. At 4:30, I had not heard from them so I called and was told they hadn t looked at it. At 5:15 I received a call from the mechanic saying stuff came loose in the compressor, I needed a new pressure condenser, the valves were bad, the cabin filter needed to be replaced and then they could add Freon for a mere $1642.33. We picked up my car immediately and paid $50, I presume was for parking on their lot. I called a different mechanic shop and was told to bring it in, leave it overnight and they would look at it the next morning. At 8:30 am they called to say there was a small leak on the high side. They could replace the piece needed and recharge with Freon for $223.00. We picked it up at 2:00 pm that same day. It has worked beautifully since. BEWARE!! I won t be going to Monkey Mike s for anything.
