I've had superb service from J Dee's for several years on 3 of my vehicles. They performed A/C and Airbag repairs on my '06 Jetta TDI, A/C Service, and electrical repair on my son's '04 Xterra and corrected some drivability issues with my '95 Land Cruiser. The estimates provided prior to repair and even when it came to final invoice have always been spot on. If there were any change orders, they always call me prior to performing the work. Yes, they are busy and it may take them a while to work through other cars to get to mine. I'm okay with it as I don't want to rush them. I want the job done right. I highly recommend them for repair on any import you have.UPDATE:J Dee's recently services both my VW Golf and Nissan Xterra over the past few months. Both repairs we made in a very timely manner and the repairs costs were much less than expected. Communication as always was better than anticipated. So my dad and I brought them my 2014 VW Jetta. It needed the engine replaced. First 8 months they had to because they were waiting to get the engine. Told us we had warranty on the engine when it finally arrived.Finally we got it back after almost 10 months. I didn t even drive it for one week and already had to take it back. Now they have had it for a year. Refuse to update us at all. Never answer the phone. First time I finally got a person on the phone about 4 months into them having it the second time they told me they hadn t even ran a diagnostic on it. They needed my approval to do so which makes no sense to me because when you take it to a shop, that s what they are supposed to do. Then another five months goes by and I speak with it Eric and he says that the diagnostic came back and it is the engine that needs to be replaced again that the company had sent them a faulty engine. And after that never heard from them again now it has been closer to a she told me that they had to run more diagnostics on the car and that they can t even prove that it was in the notes anywhere that my engine needed to be replaced. It is now two years that they have had my car and refuse to give any updates answer the phone. My father wants to take legal action.

They fixed my son's car with a coolant leak. The dealership wanted to replace the catalytic converter for $5000 the fixed the issue for $570. Also on and out in 2 days.

My Jag was having some issues. I looked around in Midland only place that worked on them was Littlefield Automotive. I tried to make an appt she told me they had 20 cars at the shop and 20 on a waiting list. She suggested I call back in 2 months and see if I could get put on the list. I looked around in Lubbock found J. Dee s they had an appt in 2 days I took it down and they had the car fixed in a week. They were amazing. It was definately worth taking it to them rather than waiting 4 plus months in Midland. They did a great job.Service: Electrical repair

Took my Mercedes Benz for a faulty sensor message. Erick said that the diagnostic costs $100. Dropped car off on Friday. They were supposed to be done Friday before closing or Saturday morning latest. Kept calling and found out they are closed on Saturday but said I can pick it up on Saturday.Kept calling on Monday and finally he called back and said they could not diagnose the problem and it it will cost me an additional $135 per hour for every extra hour of diagnostics. No limit on how long it will take is what he said. I immediately went and paid the $100 for doing nothing. Took it right across to the dealership. Although they charged $189 for the diagnostics they fixed the sensor issues within 30 min and I landed up paying just the diagnostics feesPlease avoid these people at any cost.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I bought a 2003 Expedition. It has a leak on the gas tank. The auto place where I bought it told me to take it to J Dees that they could diagnose the problem and fix it. J Dees set a time for me to bring it in at 8:30 am on Monday. My expedition set out by the curb until I called them Wednesday at noon. They said they haven't gotten it in. It may be Thursday or Friday. I called where I bought it and they called J Dees. They finally got it in and they called me a couple hours later and said it was fixed. I picked it up. I went to fill it up and not only did it still leak, it doesn't have the engine light on. They erased the code so now if I have a problem I won't know it. Went in with one problem and came out with two problems. I won't be giving them a second chance!!!Update: We thought J Dees had erased the code, no they didn't, they just unplugged it and left it dangling behind the dash. So much for a good service.

These guys have the patience of a saint!! My car is an import, and there is no dealership here, so they did warranty and recall work on my turbo charger. It was one crazy hurdle after another for them and us, back-ordered parts, crazy software updates, and a bunch of other stuff. They hung in there, got it fixed, and now my car feels better than ever when driving. 100% recommend!!Services: Electrical repair, Engine repair

READ BEFORE YOU GO HERE!I have used this place many times. Spent well over 5k here on repairs. Each time I go in, a new issue arises.My most recent experience is the reason I will be writing this. I took my car in do get the door handles fixed. They quoted me $460 to have them replaced, told me it would be around 2-3 days for repairs due to them needing to order parts. I agreed and they told me there would be a diagnostic fee of $250 for the time.. which I understood. they said the total however with parts would be $460.I wait patiently around a week, and give them a call. I was told they ordered the wrong parts and they have to reorder the correct ones. Wait around 2.5 weeks and I call them (they never called to let me know) I was then told, they ordered the wrong parts again. After waiting 3 weeks, They called me and told me the parts they need are going to cost more, and now the repair total will be $800 instead of $460. I told them I agreed to the repairs when it was $460, not $800. They told me regardless I will owe them $250 for taking the door panels off. They also informed me if i do not get the repairs done that they will NOT put the door panels back on either and that they spent too much time on my car and wont put in anymore time.I sat there and told them that was not going to happen and if I had known it would be that much, I would have never agreed to let them take the door panels off to begin with. They finally agreed to atleast put door panels back on after a long heated discussion and eric getting agressive.HOWEVER, during all of this my car got locked and they were unable to get in. They had a locksmith come and "unlock the doors" by unlock, I mean destroy the vinyl panels on both doors and the weather stripping inside. My battery was also dead. Funny, I guess because the doors were locked, they tried to PRY OPEN my hood and completely wedged the hood over an inch while leabing 3 different pry dents on the hood. There was also a dent on the front that was never there. BLACK residue on my leather seats I could not get off, and my car was full of dirt, inside and outside. The manager up front was very agressive and when I told him that they will need to atleast put my door panels off if they expect me to pay $250 he told me to leave. He stood up almost like he wanted to fight. (it will be on camera)The most unprofessional and scam artist place I have ever experienced. After a solid month and 2 days I got my vehicle back in the terrible condition it was left in. I spent $250 and over a month without a vehicle to only get it back in worse shape than it went in as. My brand new battery was also completely drained. Iv tried to charge it and it just dies the next day. another $200 wasted. The airbag lights are now always on, and the left side door panel is NOT EVEN ATTACHED. They used SCREWS to attach the driver side door panel LMAOI wish I could upload videos so you could see the way these trash people installed the passenger door panel. So pathetic. words cannot describe how terrible this place is. I cant even call it a company.TERRIBLE

I cannot say enough nice things about this business! Impeccable customer service! While traveling recently, a series of mistakes at an oil changing place landed my Audi in the service department of the Audi dealership Lubbock. They were completely incompetent, extremely backed up and behind, and totally unsympathetic and uncaring to my plight. Subsequently, my Audi was transferred to J Dee s garage. They got me right in, diagnosed the problems, repaired the damage done by the oil changing place all in a timely manner. I was out of there and returning home with everything in working order in less than a day. Eric, the shop manager was respectful, kind, compassionate, caring and helpful. If you drive an import, this is the garage you want!Service: Transmission

Very bad at diagnosing vehicles, they are trying to rip people off!!! Came to this shop and was quoted $2500 to fix the problem that our truck had, when we took it to another place after and it was fixed for $250 total. You tell them your problem, they will take advantage of you and find MORE problems to make money. Also mind you we paid $500 to have that diagnostic performed and they still said it might not fix the problem, we ll find out after . Yeah, after I pay $2500 on top. BAD BAD BAD, not honest. Only like to make money on poor people that don t know much about their cars.

Absolutely garbage!! Was told that the transmission they put in my truck came with a warranty. When I took the truck in for the warranty work I was told they were 3 to 4 weeks behind. Well after 4 months, countless unanswered phone calls, and no response from numerous voicemails I was told I could have to warranty work done at any shop so I have the truck moved to a different shop. Now I ve been without the truck for a good 8 months and was just told by GM that it won t be covered because the trans has to be installed by a GM certified shop!! So over 8 months of complete waisted time because of the false information I m stuck needing a $4000+ transmission job!

Aside of the fact that communication was very hard to have with them they got the work done. They only gave me a couple hours notice to pick my car up. I work 20 minutes south of town and had to return my rental, wait for someone to come home, I'm a nanny, get to repair shop. I told them I'd get there asap. I was told he could only stay a little after closing. I made more adjustments. When I got there by the looks of all the activity I could tell that it was going to be at least an hour before they got everything closed up and taken care of. Lots of stress on an already stressful situation. Had to return to dealership on a battery issue and again on Monday or Tuesday to have them look at an oil issue. This was the reason I went in the 1st place.

I was not satisfied with the service I received here. Brought my handicapped vehicle in for a transmission issue and muffler. They diagnosed the issue said it would cost me 1400 for the transmission issue and the muffler. Took forever for parts and labor to be done. Muffler never done. Come to find out what they did do did not fix the issue. Now I need another transmission. Vehicle is worse now then when I dropped it off. I brought it home parked it and when I moved it there was a huge puddle of transmission fluid it leaked out. My vehicle was there a few weeks needles to say I needed the vehicle considering it is the only transportation my special needs daughter has. Bad Diag... Bad communicationService: Transmission

The radiator went out on my 15 year old VW and rather than take it to the dealership, I decided to take it here. Jason is friendly and they were helpful in telling me what needed work/replacing and what didn t. Went ahead and had them replace the timing belt and water pump while they had the front end apart. All of that was great, but they forgot to rewire my fog lights when they put the bumper back on. No big deal, mistakes happen. Rescheduled and they had it for two days. Still didn t fix the issue. Took it back (they must keep your car all day) and they finally hooked up the fog lights but the quality of work was extremely poor and I had to go in and fix it myself. Also, for some inexplicable reason, they completely removed a backlight I had on the VW logo and they still couldn t figure out how to get my shifter to stop spinning around after two tries.Verdict: friendly service, complimentary rides in their groovy van, and great at mechanical work and expensive repairs (and are better priced than the dealership), but not so good at cosmetic stuff.

Do not take your vehicle here, I paid 350$ and had to have it towed home, they wanted to replace the timing belt for 900$, without knowing if that would fix it. Took vehicle in to get ecm replaced and programmed and needless to say ,vehicle still isn't running.they quoted me at 150 $to do the programming, and had to pay the 350 just to get my vehicle bak,and the rest of the $ past the 150 was them trying to figure out what was wrong. Was not happy with this place, felt like I got taken advantage of and vehicle n not fixed.Thank you for reading!.Service: Electrical

My Q7 had been to the dealer twice while under warranty for an antifreeze smell. I as told it was just the coolant cap venting. Took it to J Dees and they found the problem was the water pump and a faulty hose. They fixed the problem in a timely manor and the cost is what the estimate was. It s been 2 months since the repair and all is good. Thanks!!!!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

The initial quote given for repairs was not honored ($1700). I was surprised when the balance was presented for payment and it was higher then agreed. When questioned about it I was threatened with an even higher price! On top of that my Audi is still leaking oil and the check engine light came on the very next day. Very unprofessional and dishonorable.

Do not use this company! I took my 2007 Black Mercedes C230 for a diagnostic test. Eric failed to give me a straight answer for 3 months! I contacted the owner which gave me the run around. I finally paid them an in office visit only to find my vehicle outside of their " vehicle storage facility " which is not licensed under TDLR with the windows rolled down trunk opened. To make matters worse it had rained the night before soaking the interior of my vehicle. They totally damaged my car making it worthless. Please pay the extra money at Mercedes Benz of Lubbock or other mechanic for any mechanical services instead of using this horrific company.

From the moment you walk in the door Eric is there to greet you and he always takes you step-by-step on what is going to be done with your vehicle. J Dee's is my go-to place for mechanical automotive repairs. They perform quality work and are reasonably priced. I tend to be very cautious and selective with regard to where I take my cars, as I tend to be unsatisfied by the work. This is not the case with J Dee's. I have been impressed by their attention to detail and workmanship. I will continue to take my cars here.

I ve been bringing my 06 VW Touareg here for about 4 years and they have kept it running perfect and it s now got over 260k on the engine and transmission. They know what to do with all your VW and Audi cars! Ben has been working on my car all four years too. Impressed.

This place replaced the clutch on a 2001 boxster S. Well they didn t put the bolts back in right and snapped the block housing. They don t know what they re doing stay far away
