This place will actively try to scam you and rip you off for parts. Showed up with a cylinder 2 misfire on my Jetta (Code p0302), which the solution to is replacement of the ignition coil. I previously had the ignition coil replaced here, so I figured they would do the warrantied work for free. However, they tried to tell me that that wasn t the problem, and recommended a 1200 dollar replacement of the engine harness. I mean how are you going to ignore the code that the engine is giving you? Anyways, a manager in the department went ahead and accepted the work for the engine harness of car on my behalf, without me ever accepting the work to be done on the car. I had to call them again to tell them I did not approve the work. If your car is not warrantied, there is no point of taking it here for work. These people are just trying to make a quick buck.

Being able to view a video of the condition of my car's suspension was useful. Armed with the information I needed, I felt more comfortable about which recommended services I wanted to get taken care of on the spot and which ones could wait.

I have had Gene Messer service my vehicles over the pass seven years. I was happy with the service and care they provided. Over the past year that care has slipped.Depending on the person you talk to on the phone, they will be very helpful, or be dismissive. My sister left her car with a broken windshield in their care for almost two weeks. When her car was finished, the communication to her was that the sales team would be there until 730pm to give her her keys. They were not there at 715pm, and left my sister's car unlocked. Her car got trashed by someone overnight. They did not seem to care, or offer to have the car cleaned. They just mentioned to mention it next time she comes.I hope they go back to some of their older values and service not from too long ago.

Good outcome but agonizingly slow and painful turn around. 2 weeks to fix a warranty issue. If you need something fixed in a hurry you're better off going to school, learning how to fix it, graduate with an advanced degree, and then do it yourself. We could have bought a new car with the money we spent on rentals and Ubers, but hey at least the repairs were free...? Not even a loaner car given this was a problem that never should have happened.

If you own a Volkswagen and need service this is the place to go. Marissa is super friendly when you arrive at the service area, she listens to your concerns and starts the process. Mac, the parts manager is wonderful. He set the parts I needed for my car's repair back so they would be in stock when I arrived, and he extended a coupon to help with the cost. The best part of my recent visit was dealing with the service manager, Duane Chapman, he is an excellent asset to the Gene Messer team of professionals. He spent a great deal of time explaining every detail involved in my car's repair, and patiently answered my 3,000 questions. He is true to his word and does what he tells you he will do.This calm, honest, never hurried approach has built a trusted relationship that is rare in the "dealership" car repair world. Thanks everyone, you are the best !

Terrible customer service, zero transparency on accurate turnaround time, and constant runaround excuses from employees. If you're going to a dealership for good service, do yourself a favor and skip this one. Spend the premium on a dealership that actually takes care of their customers.Service: Vehicle safety inspectionService: Vehicle safety inspection

Absolutely terrible customer service. Nobody would get back to me so I could purchase a new car. I gave them several opportunities. Can t speak with anyone over the phone. Went for service and nobody in the lobby spoke with us. This is exactly why we drove and extra 2 hours out of the way to street Volkswagen in Amarillo. They treat you like family. Do not deal with this dealership.

Took my under warranty SUV in as the Alternator Malfunction light came on. Didn t hear a word about the problem until 4 days later and was given an incorrect diagnosis initially. I was then informed my Drive Belt (a $33 part i bought from Gene Messer parts) was worn out and it was going to be roughly $380 to replace. Told them i was going to call my mechanic and get a quote from him (I don t have a personal mechanic) and they promptly said they would drop the price to $280-$300 if i gave them the ok within an hour. Picked up the belt and my car and took it to a mechanic down the road who charged me $20 to replace the belt in 22 minutes. Upon asking the service rep why they dropped the price so quick and why 20 minutes of labor would be $300, i couldn t get a straight answer. Absolutely pathetic. If it s not covered under warranty, go elsewhere.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The technicians themselves are great but the customer service at the counter is sub-par. Understandably, the lack of staffing due to COVID-19 has impacted them, however even before this, the people at the counter didn't seem to have a lot of information. Getting help at the counter right now or reaching someone over the phone can be quite the undertaking.
