I've been dealing with Rick Bigham for years, and I can only say that he runs one of the most fair and honest auto repair shops in Lubbock. Our family owns nine cars and trucks, and there seems to be something in need of repair every month or two. Rick and his gang of pros keep all our vehicles running and well maintained. I highly recommend dropping by to check out their friendly staff and well-equipped shop. BTW, despite the postal address listed on the web, for decades now, the entrance has been on 18th Street, not 19th. Tell Rick I sent you!Services: Transmission, Auto body & trim repair, Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Auto power window repair, Steering & suspension repair, Auto water leak repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto A/C recharge, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Transmission repair, A/C installation & repair, Auto maintenance

It is so difficult needing repairs for your car and knowing where to go. I just went with a repair shop close to where I work downtown. Thank God I went with Bigham Automotive! Nobody wants to have to pay for outrageous car repairsand Bigham's was so reasonable! He knew exactly how to deal with the warranty! They fixed my car A/C and now it works like a dream! They even washed my car and vacuumed the interior!! I could not have asked for better service!! This is definitely now my "go to" place forever!!!Services: A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

Bigham Automotive is amazing! We live in Dallas & our daughter is a student at Texas Tech. They have worked on her car twice & did a great job both times. They are always so kind & truly care about their customers. Mr. Bigham told us he has 20,000 grandkids in Lubbock because he takes care of so many Tech students cars. They also give a discount to families of Tech students & don't ever require payment when pick up the car. They always tell us to just mail them a check. I can't say enough wonderful things about this business. Thank you Bigham Automotive!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Quoted us $2-3k over the market rate for a repair. The owner was rude when we chose to go with another shop, and they charge a 4% surcharge for credit and debit cards which is illegal per Texas law. Not only would I not recommend them. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB for unethical practices.

The man I dealt with was real assertive for no reason at all. I ask for an inspection and was told it would be a weeks time wait, when I asked a week? just for an INSPECTION ? for confirmation, he raised his tone more. Needless to say, I did not get my vehicle inspected here.

My wife's 2017 Yukon XL had transmission problems while she was in Lubbock for Cross Country Meet for our son. Dealers in Lubbock would not even look at her car for at least three weeks. Rick towed her vehicle and was able to order a new transmission, get it delivered and installed within three weeks. The folks a Bigham Automotive treated us like a good neighbor even though we live 250 miles away. Although they are closed on Saturday, Jim met us on Saturday to let us pick up her vehicle. We highly recommend Bigham Automotive! Thank you.Service: Transmission

Horrible customer service. The mechanics ruined my vehicle and I have to pay another mechanic ALOT of money to fix my car. The owner was very arrogant and totally screwed me over.

I was never treated like a woman who was needing repairs and was left with no transportatio and Friday n for a undetermined amount of time. I had to rent a car. One week was my limit for car rental. I called to checked in 3days (have not even touched car), one week later (the are meeting about your car now) and after no one calling. The final day I called and "ooh, I was just about to call you ". They gave me an estimate about $1,600 high. I told them to get my car ready because I was coming to get it. It cost $140, which was fine. Long story short...I took it to Nissan on Monday (waited 1/2 - 2 hours there, talked to me about problem and gave me price. On Tuesday my transmission was here, took it in on Thursday took it in (they took me home) and on Friday they picked me up to get my car. Treated with respect around Godly people. 70 year old womanService: Transmission replacement

Excellent experience. We needed struts for our Volvo XC90 and Bigham Automotive searched around for the best struts for the best price out there- they did the research, and came up with exactly what we needed. When we picked up the car there were several small things that had needed to be fixed for a while that they took care of as well, on their own, at no extra charge. - Very thorough, high standard of excellence, and helped us with scheduling out some upcoming repairs so we can plan ahead. and as a bonus, check out Buddy Holly s fully restored 1958 Chevy Impala when you drop your car off!

I recommend Rick everywhere I go, he has really helped this single momma out! I am so grateful for him and his workers!!!! He works with you on a personal basis, the compassion and humility is by far the best I have ever experienced!!!! I would NEVER use anyone else. The customer service is by far out of this world!!! I just love this place!!!! My car had so many issues before, I was paying people to fix things that never got fixed. Now that I m with Rick and his team my car is actually getting fixed, he walks through and explains everything so I know what s actually going on, I have never had any issues with my car after it getting fixed VERY PROMPT considering how popular they are, Rick and his team stay busy which is obviously A GREAT SIGN-they still manage to get you in and out as quick as possible ...I can t say it enough!! if you want good service on your car then use bighams automotive!!! I d give them 10+ stars if I could.Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

Rick and his team have been great!I hadn't been able to find a shop willing to seriously look at the transmission issues I was having... everyone just wanted to throw new parts at it without a full understanding of the problem.Rick Bigham's Team brought it, found the problems, made the repairs and has continued to stand by their work. They always call with an explanation on what is broken, how much it will cost, and how long it will take. They are super open and transparent.BIgham's is now my shop. They will have my personal business and my fleet work. Thanks guys!

I am so grateful for the helpful and friendly service I have received at Bigham Automotive and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Lubbock Area, (especially Texas Tech Students and Employees as they provide a discount for the Texas Tech family).I drive a 91' Honda Accord with 320,000 miles on it. I recently moved to Texas and new I need to get a timing belt replaced. I researched some different autoshops nearby me and Bigham Automotives website specifically mentioned timing belt replacement and it had some good reviews so I gave them a try. They are AWESOME! Rick is super friendly and helpful he was very upfront about the potential costs and let me know what he would be doing. With the timing belt replacement there is sometimes additional cranks and things that need to be replaced, so Rick mentioned he would check those, but only replace them if needed. In the end the cost was less than the original estimate and my vehicle continues to ride down the road smoothly.About a month later I got my new plates for Texas, but had an issue with a rusted screw on the front plate and could not replace it on my own (Bent my flathead screw driver trying). I called up Rick and he told me to bring it by and he would see what he can do. I stopped by first thing the next morning. Rich told me to just have seat in the waiting room while he gave it a go then a there. He was able to solve the issue installed both the front and back plate free of charge.I am so grateful for the helpful and friendly service I have received at Bigham Automotive and would highly recommend it to anyone in Lubbock.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Mr. Bigham is doing everything right! The service and knowledge that I received throughout the process of getting my car repaired was unmatched to any other shop in Lubbock. Bigham will be the first and only place that ill ever call upon if I have any issues with any of my vehicles. Great People, Great Service!

If I could give more than 5 stars then I would!! Mr Bigham helped me when my warranty company tried to deny my claim on what was obviously a covered repair. Mr Bigham himself spent hours on the phone fighting for me. He let me keep the car at the repair shop while I tried to get the situation resolved. It took getting the media involved for the warranty company to finally pay for the repair. Mr Bigham repaired the transmission in a timely manner and made sure that it was safe for my daughter to drive to college. I cannot thank him enough for taking all the time that he did to help me with the situation. I would highly recommend this repair shop!!!

The staff at Bigham automotive are very hardworking and loyal. The commitment shown to their customers and the Lubbock community is beyond reproach. I can personally attest to to this as I have had members of their staff come out before the shop opens to assist me in serving my organization. I highly recommend anyone who is experiencing automotive difficulties to stop by Bigham Automotive and experience their true, Lubbock hospitality for themselves!

We recently took our diesel RV in for some service work and we re very impressed with the thorough job by the team at Bigham Automotive. We highly value dealing with a trustworthy company, and even though we are not based in Lubbock, we will come back to Bighams for future service work. Thanks guys for a great job, highly recommend!

I have had transmissions serviced by three different shops in town over the years and never been satisfied. Bigham s did a terrific job, in a reasonable amount of time, and at a fair price. I will never go anywhere else again.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I have a 42' Class A motor home. All of the dash gauges had quite working. I had taken it to a couple of local rv repair facilities that did not have any idea on how to fix the issue. I went so far as to call the Holiday Rambler repair facility in Alvarado, TX - only to be told I would have to take it to the HR facility in Indiana. As I was trying to figure out how and when I could take the coach (minus dash gauges) from Amarillo Texas to Indiana, a friend told be about Bigham Automotive. I was able to set up an appointment and get the coach to them. They quickly diagnosed the issue, that involved significant rewiring and relay rebuilds. They provided an estimate of cost that seemed fair for the amount of work that needed to be done. Rick Bigham was constantly in contact, keeping us up to date on the progress. The work was completed in a timely manner and was within the price estimates. I highly recommend that if you need any work done on a Monaco chassis that Bigham Automotive be your first choice.

Our experience at Bigham Automotive has been frustrating and financially costly. They take advantage of their customers by selling warranties that they do not honor. Rather than fixing the part which is covered by a warranty, they tell you that part is not broken, but the parts around it are the ones needing repair. So you end up buying a warranty ($1000+) that they do not honor, and then every time you go in to have that part checked, they tell you something else is wrong so you end up spending more money on parts and labor AND the original problem still exists. This happened with our transmission. Unfortunately for us, this life experience was very costly. But I hope someone else can avoid being cheated by Bigham Automotive. However, the silver lining is that we have found HUD's automotive in Lubbock, and they are fantastic!

Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner himself a professionalism now too familiar in this day. I am very satisfied with the results and would strongly recommend this business if u are looking for a good, fair and honest quote . Mr. Bingham was direct and to the point of the trouble my car had and took care of it! Thank you and appreciate your help and time. Great job!

I really appreciate the folks at Bigham Automotive. Mr. Bigham is always upfront & honest about possible repairs & costs. Most recently we had my moms class A motorhome repaired and as usual the costs & repairs were right in line with what had been discussed prior to the service. You get what you pay for with Bighams and that is important to me and my family. I recommend Bighams to anyone in need of automotive repairs!

I wish there was a zero star but one will have to do. Everything Rick and Leslie at Bigham Auto told me was not true and they blame everyone else for their bad service and poor workmanship. Stay away from this place they will take your money but who knows if they even fix what they say is wrong. Look at the other bad reviews and you will get the picture. My transmission started leaking and making noise on vacation through Lubbock so I took it to Bigham/AAMCO on Monday and talked to Rick the owner. He was really nice and knowledgeable and said he would take care of me. Hi manager, Leslie, called me and said the seal was bad, the case had a crack and all the fluid drained out and burned up the clutches (also the dipstick holder had a crack). The good news was the converter was fine and the worst case estimate was $2000. I said fix it but I needed it first thing the next Monday. Leslie said OK she would take care of me. I rented a car and continued the vacation. The next Monday Leslie called and said the parts people gave them the wrong converter (which was supposed to be OK) and it would be noon before it was ready. I told her to call me if not because I took back the rental and would have to be dropped off. At noon, Leslie says it is on a test drive and will be ready by the time we can do the paperwork. The bill was over $2900.00 (they did give me a discount because of my job) and nothing Leslie told me on the phone was repaired except the clutches. I spent the next 7(yes, seven) HOURS in their waiting room while they tried to get my truck running. When I brought up these issues Leslie was angry and said it was the parts guy, the dealership s bad install of the new engine (6 months ago with no issues ) and she never promises a vehicle will be ready at a certain time. The cracked case was now within specs and Mr. Rick wanted to get me a new converter (which I paid for, of course). They were working on it and I should be grateful for their hard work was her attitude. On the way home the transmission is starts acting up (no great surprise there). I take it to the AAMCO in Austin where they determine it needs a new part that Bingham has to authorize. After waiting on the part for 6 DAYS from Lubbock I finally talk to Rick again and he( without knowing) says it is backordered. He called me back and said it would ship from Lubbock and be here the next day (a miracle). The AAMCO guys in Austin told me they use the same parts company and one is in town. I call Rick back and get him to let them get it from here. He blamed all the new problems on a guy in Austin (which I found out was not true it was Leslie again who lied). WOW.

wish I would have look these guys up before I started down the road I am on now. I had them to rebuild my transmission in a 2006 raider. That was 2300. Then after one year of use, the transmission started shifting hard again. I have taken it back twice. Each time they keep the my truck for a week, and each time they keep finding other things wrong with the truck. So, in short I have now paid them 1100 and the transmission still needs to be taken apart and looked at. I guess due to them losing money they keep stalling. I am stuck with these guys until they fix my transmission. At all cost, DO NOT COME HERE. I think my five year old son could do better.

Bigham does good work, however they misdiagnose in their favor which ended up costing me thousands more as I later discovered they did a bunch of work that did not need to be done. If you bring your vehicle to Bigham, be sure to get another quote prior to allowing them to fix your vehicle otherwise you might be paying for a bunch of padding. You have been warned!!!

They ve consistently been nothing but fantastic to me. Recently I had a noise that was tough to chase down, thankfully they like a challenge, and was able to chase it down and fix it. They even saw that one of my license plate lights was out and they replaced it for me. I would highly recommend this shop.

This place is garbage. We made a reservation to fix a simple problem with our vehicle while we were pressed for time. Showed up, no one knew anything about our reservation and made us leave the vehicle there for hours, only to come back and find out no one had done anything with it, wasting our valuable time we should have been on the road. We had to take it and go to another shop.I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Don't waste your time or money here. Just go somewhere else. They are clueless here and so unprofessional.
