Great experience with the Transmission Shop, called several transmission repair businesses in Denton county to get quotes and warranty info. Their warranty and price was better for what I needed. Russell and his team did a fantastic job and the price I was quoted was what I paid to the penny. Great service and communication and my truck was ready and back on the road in under a week. Will definitely use them in the future for any of my transmission needs. Thanks Russell and the Transmission shop for taking care of me and my family!Service: Transmission

These guys are great. They did a wonderful job doing a full rebuild on my 2018 Ford F150 s transmission. Great honest guys, fair pricing, and all around wonderful to work with. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone experiencing transmission issues on their vehicle.

Excellent Service, I called Russell and told him exactly what I needed done to my 2011 BMW 528i. He gave me a quote and appointment over the phone and let me bring my own parts and ATF Fluid. He took care of everything and stood true to the quote. Russell and his staff were friendly and professional at all times. My vehicle is running great.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this shop for any transmission needs and will return here for any future needs.

im not sure how thier ratings higher than a 2.. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They had my car for over 9 months. gave me my car back on 3 separate occasions when it wasn't fixed. i guess they were hoping i wouldn't notice? terrible communication, shop manager will give you the run around, and you HAVE to call him to find anything out. got so bad i had to get in touch with the CEO, Mike. Now he genuinely tried to get my car running... until i guess he was spending too much time on it. he basically tried to get me to give him more money to finish fixing it (2k in addition to the 4k i already paid for the full rebuild, meanwhile i was initially only quoted 2k for the rebuild.) its important to say here that i had already paid for a full rebuild and at this point was on (their) warranty to finish fixing it. anyways owner decided its become too much of a headache for him, asks me for more money, i say no because its on warranty and was never fixed in the first place, then he basically tells me he's not working on it anymore and i need to go kick rocks. so i get my car towed to another shop. they give it a look over and inform that it in fact has been fixed. in their opinion, he spent too much time fixing my car and wanted to squeeze some more money out of me. they're not worth the headache yall! the kicker in all this is that at the beginning of this process, i told the shop manager to let me know if it will be easier to just go and buy a new transmission instead of doing a full rebuild... they decided to start the rebuild without even talking to me so i assumed that meant it would be an easy in-and-out job.Cheers Mike thanks for the work

I wanted to post a review for Russell and The Transmission Shop of Lewisville. Russell and his shop went above and beyond to take care of a issue my transmission was having over the past few days. This is my 3rd time using his The Transmission of Lewisville and the work has been exceptional each time. I would highly recommend them for any of your transmission needs.

Every time we have had an issue with our transmission, they have exceeded our expectations. Great service and fair prices. I highly recommend them if you ever need transmission work.

Friendly. Russell spent extra time researching the error code that would not repeat after many miles is driving. Told me best option was try replacing the transmission fluid and see if error re-occurred. Reports he found were many people with the same code got 50k miles or more. Better that a $6k valve body replacement.

The entire experience was good, even though it was expensive. They rebuilt a 2016 Chevy pickup eight speed transmission that never performed well since it was new. It now performs like it should!! Highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

RusselThank you for prompt attention to my daughters trans problem. I went in to the shop early in the week and by Friday Russel and his team had diagnosed the problem and fixed it by Friday. I picked it up and took it to my daughter and she was really excited. She said it drove like a new one. There was a minor problem (leak). I will take it to Russell Monday morn and I believe itWill be fixed promptly. I suggest you have a trans problem take it to theTransmission Shop in Lewisville and you will be satisfied with the service. My problem was fixed for $1200 less than the other quote I had.Thanx Russell.Jim Yarbrough

I talked to Brandon yesterday regarding getting a quote on a Clutch Replacement for my son's car! He was very attentive and very professional on explaining the different manufactures and the different option I have. Broke down the labor vs the parts, can't wait to get the car back on the road and surprise my son.

Brandon and the staff at The Transmission Shop were very knowledgeable of my vehicles issues with my truck. Not only did they complete the repairs in a timely fashion but my yruck works like the day I bought it, if not better.Brandon was very helpful with all my questions. The price was better than I had got from other shops and to top it off I got a warranty 3 times as much as the other shops had offered.Great job, keep up the good work, I am definitely going to recommend you to everyone I know that need your services.Service: Transmission

Great work and service from the shop guys & Russell. Paid the exact estimate of $800 with other shops wanting $1200 or more in the area. In a world of mechanic mayhem and rampant overcharging, it is good to see a needle in the haystack who does what they say.

Good people, took care of my concerns and even pointed out a precautionary item or two.Took a bit, weather or personnel probably. But in all, good experience.UPDATE5 months later...I took my truck in for a rear main seal & transmission problems output shaft seal (truck has 300k mi).I was told the transmission was fine but the rear-end was shot. After 700 mi, the transmission cratered. Took it to another location (same co.) They charged $3k to rebuild the transmission, no warranty discount... (obviously) no nothing! On top of the $2k for the previous work. BTW... to replace a rear main seal, they removed the transmission that was "fine". Plus lost parts off the transmission. Issues: the tail housing bearings were shot, shavings clogged up the pump, cooler & lines. More $$Even though I had the original work order, "problems with transmission, leaking from output shaft" this company did not offer any discount or apologies. I was referred to the second location, but I can not support a reference for this company. It's one thing to deal with shotty work, 300% markups, but when a service refuses to stand by there brandUPDATE UPDATE....I FUSSED ENUF FOR A 1YR WARRANTY IN WRITING

Do not do business here! Jim from the lewisville shop is extremely unprofessional. He hung up on me after they left my fuse box open which got wet and ran my battery and windshield wiper motor dead. They ripped my rearview mirror off. We have had multiple problems with the crappie work they have done.

Only giving one star because I can t give less. I don t have the energy to go through their exceptional job of providing at the very best lousy customer service but if you are in a position where you don t mind giving your car to a company that s going to recommend a new transmission and overlook if there are other issues that will need to be resolved for the car to function further than making it 3 miles down the road after leaving their shop after spending 40 days on a 2-3 week quoted job then by all means give them your business. I believe the 5,000 I spent was only a thousand over the 3-4k original quote and the owner who can only be reached by email did authorize a refund for $1000 after I had to have my car towed back to them after breaking down a few miles down 35, minutes after picking up my ancient 2012 Infiniti G37. If you re the kind of person that can smile after getting kicked in the rocks over and over, you ve found the right place.

I took my truck here to get the transmission rebuilt and it took about a month with no updates after I picked it up I had to go back due to the transmission not going into the last gear. That took a while again and once again no updates on the truck, I had to call weekly to find out the progress. Once I got my truck back the ash tray was in the floor in the back with the coins missing. I had also dropped off the truck with a full tank of gas and when I got it back it was half way. I will not be coming back to this shop.

Just a word of caution. If you need transmission work done, don t go to The Transmission Shop in Lewisville. They are completely incompetent, they are dishonest, and they will take your money and not fix your transmission. In our case, they actually created more problems and it was more expensive to fix.Our son had a 2019 Ford Fusion that was barely out of warranty when the transmission failed. We took it to Brandon at the transmission shop who assured us the car would be ready in a few days. Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Finally, after two failed repair attempts, we had it towed to Ford for the repairs. Ford did repair it properly and we had it back in a few days.FORD SAID THAT A TRANSMISSION REBUILD HAD IN FACT NOT BEEN DONE. Yet, Brandon said it had and charged us for it!!!This is theft.Brandon has refused to refund the money we paid so we will be forced to take legal action.Stay away from this business. It s actually shocking that they are still in business at all.

My my gear shift became disengaged with the transmission. I had my car towed to The Transmission Shop. I Spoke with Russell and was advised he was a man down, but he would get to it asap. He did get to it in a reasonable amount of time. The issue with my transmission is a problem I am familiar with as it has happened once before. There is a small plastic part that wears and can break that causes the problem. It just needs to be replaced and takes very little time. It is an incredibly easy fix. Russell chose not to charge me anything for the repair. I even told him I wanted to at least pay for his time. He declined. He did say he'd appreciate a review and I gladly have presented this one. The window for dishonesty on things like this are pretty wide open. I truly appreciate that he did not attempt to take advantage of the situation.Service: Transmission

I recently took my car for repair at The Transmission Shop in Lewisville.Firstly, the service was horrendous. I was told that my car will be ready within a week, instead it took 3 weeks just because the people working there ordered wrong parts. When I would call the shop, they were so rude and dismissive.Secondly, even after 3 weeks my car has problems as if it was never repaired! And i paid exorbitant amount of money! Even when I was negotiating considering that their service was not up-to the mark, the owner Mike Adams started to argue with me and was very angry which is not the way you deal with any customer. Moreover, when I asked for refund they said they can t do anything as its not in their hands.I would not recommend this place to anyone. They re only in the business to rip you off!!!Service: Transmission

I had my Jeep towed to The Transmission Shop in Lewisville, Tx. because my transmission had completely gone out. I had to have my whole transmission rebuilt. They explained everything that had to be done and I was given a quote. They repaired items that was not included in the quote and did not ask for a penny more than the quote I was given.UPDATE! After getting my jeep back I had to drive it to Washington State. It barely made it. At one point I wanted to turn around and head back to Texas but I had passed the half way point. The jeep has never ran the same. Some things associated with the transmission don t even work. They never replaced the wiring harness, just spliced the old wires back together. They were very lucky that the jeep couldn t make it back to Texas.

Had my transmission rebuilt on my Trailblazer. I spent $2000 for it to be fixed and had several issues where there was a rear main seal leaked after they fixed it. It took 3 attempts before they finally fixed it. Now the transmission went out just barely over their 12000 mile warranty. I pay $2000 for a transmission rebuild just long enough to get passed their warranty.....Service: Transmission

Incredible team and owner! I took my car in after seeing 4 other transmission shops and said I ve had it checked and I have a bad transmission. I m giving it to best quote this man rechecked and informed me there was nothing wrong with my transmission but instead something costing a fraction of the cost. Other shops told me 5k he told me $450. Trustworthy, honest, highly recommended.Service: Transmission
