I took my 1992 C4 Corvette fixed up to Fifth Gear Automotive.And they treated me in the best possible way. My car came out perfectly fixed due to the problem I had with it,and days later they called me by phone to ask me how my car was running.I recommend Fifth gear 100% if you have any problem with your vehicle. The people who work this place are very professional and honest.Thanks Pedro j hernandez.

Disrespectful. ignorant, and downright disappointing.For context, i've been going to Fifth Gear for years now. I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars here. And everytime, without hassle or argument, I swipe my card. Its pricey, but I had been happy with the services I was provided so I was willing to pay the premium, up until now.Two nearly consecutive events had happened for me to reach the point of me writing this. I took my 2017 Ford Explorer in for service because it had been blowing HOT air, and had blew the belt off whilst I was driving it. So, I took it in to get looked at, and sure enough it had blew the belt off the pulley. Keep in mind, that is exactly what I had told them, no diagnostic needed here, it is a very straightforward problem that takes no more than 30 seconds to confirm. Then, they had told me that there was a hole in my compressor (topside and visible from the engine bay), and decided to tell me that it would be $149 for an AC DIAGNOSTIC to tell me that I had a blown compressor... uh yeah duh. I, (rightfully so) argued the charge and eventually they adjusted it off (but not without going back and forth with the manager), after my quote to repair of nearly $2k (for an AC?) I decided it was best to get the work done elsewhere.Shortly after I had gotten this work done, a different vehicle (a 2016 Explorer) went in because it started to jerk under acceleration. I had, dropped it with them, full expecting to get charged a diagnostic (and I was more than willing to pay), the mechanic (who was very nice) kindly explained that there was nothing that he could do until the engine threw a code, and went on a test drive with me. HE HIMSELF, thought it was best not to charge me anything, and let me drive away.About a month later, my Tahoe started to make a ticking noise while I was accelerating. I took it into Fifth Gear (i suspected catalytic converters), and I was approached by a service advisor who greeted me with "are you going to buy anything this time?" confused I replied with "Excuse me what?" and he said WORD FOR WORD "we're a business not a charity, you haven't bought anything the last 3 times you've been here". Okay, so immediately a couple issues here... I hadn't bought anything the last 2 times I had been there (not 3), and I didn't decide NOT to charge me last time THEY DID and I NEVER ASKED for any sort of handouts. They (the mechanics) didn't charge me because it was the right thing to do and did it WITHOUT ME ASKING. I replied to his comment with "I fully expect you to charge me for a diagnostic, why wouldn't you?" I then asked "what's with the attitude?" and he replied with "cause you come here asking for handouts". I then asked for the manager Tim, and he explained that the service advisors are often out of tune with what the mechanics are doing. And that I was, in fact, a valuable, long-time, paying customer who has spent THOUSANDS. With no apology I left understandably upset, and came back inside and told them I had left something in my truck (I hadn't) and took pictures (attached) of exactly where they had parked my truck. I then wedged a rock under the front left tire and left. Shortly after, I got a call telling me that their mechanics looked at it, and it was the broken material inside the catalytic converter causing the noise. I went to pickup my truck, and they had said (ironically), that they had decided not to charge me for a diagnosis (I wanted a full diagnosis on the issue and said multiple times I would pay), and lone and behold the truck was in the exact same place I had seen it, with the rock wedged under the tire. Completely untouched.. completely careless about genuinely solving my issue and decided to be petty instead and try to blame and accuse me of things that weren't even my fault? My truck was never touched, started, moved, or opened, and instead decided to waste half of my day waiting for my truck to be done just to provide me with a false diagnosis.Services: Electrical repair, Exhaust, Auto exhaust system repair, Auto brake repair, Engine repair, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Auto maintenance

My brakes went out on a Friday and fifth gear automotive had me back on the road by Monday afternoon. What I love about bringing my vehicle to this establishment is that they do a full inspection/assessment over your car before they even get to the issue at hand. That lets me know that not only is my issue being resolved, but they re finding other issues that I may not know about. As a single parent my car and its safety means everything to me and I feel the team shares the same value as me. I m also grateful that they re professionally trained and certified to work on Audi s. This saves me time and $$ driving all the way across town to drop my car off at an Audi dealership where it could take 2 to 3 days to get my car back. I ve been here three times for major issues and have been satisfied each time. Thanks Jake, Jeff and the fifth gear auto team! You rock!!

The Fifth Gear team did a great, and affordable job rebuilding the AC in my 18 year old Avalanche back in 2021. I needed a freon recharge this month with dye, which they also did at a very affordable price. I don't think we expected to bleed out this early, but they are backing their repair. I visited Nate at the Lewisville location to seek assistance for a simple - yet stubborn - sun visor repair for my Porsche 911 Carrera. He was super helpful. He dropped what he was doing and fixed my visor which prevented me from having to spend $200+ to get a completely new visor. Every time I have had my Porsche or other cars serviced at Fifth Gear, they have been professional, timely, and accurate with their fees. So glad to have them as a trusted option for future biz!

I had plans to go to a different business to get my front brakes replaced. I needed to go to 5th Gear for another reason and they impressed me so I scheduled an appt for the breaks. The price was what was quoted and it was ready on time. The ride home and the car wash were nice extras.

As usual the folks at fith gear were on top of their game. From the time we made an appointment to the time our car was ready there was total transparency and communication.They laid out a complete list of things we needed to be aware of and prioritized them accordingly.They had the car ready earlier then promised and it was a smooth and easy experience.

I had a horrible experience with another mechanic shop. I was charged an arm and a leg just to leave there with more wrong than when it arrived. I didn't know what to do! I called Fifth gear in hopes I could talk to someone over the phone with knowledge that could answer my questions and could walk me through the process of working on it myself as I were now financially strapped! Not only did Matt (shop forman at fifth gear) walk me through what was going on and ways to fix it, he was very understanding of my situation! Because of that, I decided to take a chance with fifth gear and once again put my car in a shop. I'm beyond impressed with Matt and all of fifth gear automotive! It took a few hours and I was already picking it up with it running better than it ever had! They are VERY intelligent mechanics and I'm so very blessed to have called them. I recommend them to anyone who has doubts about mechanic shops! Thanks y'all! Youve got a customer for life!

Got started going to Fifth Gear (Lewisville) years ago with a Mini-Cooper nobody else wanted to work on. They ve serviced Mini, Ford, Jeep, and Buick for us over the years.Everything from regular maintenance to major repair. I had an issue with the Hybrid system on my Sonata, and they were able to diagnose, locate, and fix the issue all in a day! All while getting ready to close up for a holiday.I was told by a dealership it would take several weeks to even be seen.Fifth Gear will have my business from now on, for sure! Professional, nice, very communicative staff. It s no wonder they have 5 stars!

If you read one, READ THIS ONE! Short version is I had major problems with a certain DFW Chevy dealership on a 2022 Trail Boss . I called on Fifth Gear Automotive in Argyle to assist. My contact was James. They kept my truck for one day. They trouble shot everything and gave me the information I needed. Unfortunately due to warranty they were not allowed to do the work. They were and are certainly capable. After a full day of driving, testing, and checking codes, I get the call from James to say, "Sir, we are not charging you for this service, we are not allowed to do the repairs" That's people helping people! They did some major repair on my 2014 Silverado a couple years ago and I failed them by not writing a review. They did an awesome and affordable job back then. Pure class folks and business that checks all the boxes. Honest, knowledgeable, affordable, informative, and they are great communicators. They will get ALL of my business going forward. It's now day 3 since I left a voicemail message for both this as well as their Argyle location as a first time customer wanting to get pricing for getting my 50k mileage services done for being the my Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Apparently they must be too important to acknowledge and return calls for new clientele leads and for this reason alone, I'd consider sticking with my Mercedes-Benz of Grapevine Services going forward. Thanks but no thanks for your "valuable" time!Update on 01/02/2024 (After Response from Owner) - Rather than coming at me to tell to reach back out to you on Tuesday Morning once you're back in the shop, why not do right by your customers and return the voicemail messages they leave for you? It defeats the purpose of voicemail if you're just going to ignore them in the first place.

These guys are professional and great at EV alignments. If you have a Rivian that is not aligned well from the factory (most are bad) bring it to these guys. It takes a long time but it s worth it.

Fifth Gear proved to be efficient in quicking finding the issue with my car, after having it in another shop with no resolution. They worked diligently with my warranty company to process necessary documentation for approval of service and parts. My car was completed in record time after approval - they even through in a new battery at no extra charge. Kudos to Jake for his excellent customer service and keeping me inform of their progress every step of the way. I highly recommend Fifth Gear Automotive as your choice for car service and repairs.

Fifth Gear Automotive has been servicing our cars for many years the staff, mechanics and service are the best. For example, yesterday the battery on our Mercedes died. They came to our house jumped it, took it to their service center, replaced the battery and brought it back to our house. You cannot beat that kind of service. We will always use them for our auto repair needs.

Fifth Gear Automotive in Lewisville, TX is nice. They have a nice waiting room for you to wait in if you're waiting. The guys handled everything in a timely manner. Very informative about things going on with my car. Customer Service is top notch for an automotive shop. I will be going back.

5th Gear has had a hand in maintaining my Porsche for several years. This time I spent a couple hours with Nate at the Lewisville "high performance shop" as he did his routine inspection and oil change. For a car guy it was fascinating, as this time I stayed to watch and learn. The level of knowledge and experience that Nate showed was extraordinary. I've seen his work previously and he literally knows each nut and bolt. Its now with great confidence that I can leave the 911 Turbo in his hands. 5th gear recently serviced two vehicles of mine, a Nissan Maxima and Toyota Camry. In both cases, they were extremely efficient in diagnosing the problems with each and the repairs were done much sooner than I expected. Communication was excellent as well.

Told me I need a whole new transmission. Fortunately I got a recommendation for a trusted mechanic from a coworker, who within 5 min of arrival told me I *did* need a transmission fluid change (which I was told by 5G was not possible), but the reason my engine made a big thunk noise when I accelerated was due to loose engine bolts he lifted the hood and showed me how it rose up about 4 and dropped back down, making a big thunk. He took care of these and a few other items for about $1500 whereas 5G wanted $3-5K for a refurbished or new whole engine.

Brandon and the lewisville team did an amazing job on my car. I brought it in to check out a clicking noise my car was making. They told me I needed my axels changed. Got my car back and the click was gone! My experience was fantastic from start to end. 10/10 recommend if you know nothing about cars, they are honest and do a good job!
