I took my 1999 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 in for a suspension kit install. The first kit he installed were QA1 which were generally highly favored but the kit was too loose/wobbly on the streets for my taste so I bought a different kit and requested he install it. He agreed to do so, along with replacing my fuel pump because the car was randomly stalling (not related to his work). After I got the car back, I now noticed my vehicle was not cranking on first try any longer and that I had to prime the fuel pump multiple times to get it to start on a cold-start. I didn't have time to take it back immediately but about 1 month later, I was driving down U.S. 183 and suddenly heard a lot of clanking before the driver side wheel came tumbling off destroying my fender. The wheels for the car are BMW wheels (5x120mm bolt pattern - F-Bodies are 5x120.65mm) so while I was suspicious that they were not properly tightened, I decided to let that one go because the bolt pattern difference. He claims that the wheel would have fallen off much sooner if it was a torquing issue, but this care is only driven 5 - 8 miles every other day, if not less so the time frame really isn't very significant....Later...I took my 2017 Camaro 2SS in for an upgrade from Stock SS Brake Calipers to 1LE Brake Calipers, which are factory equipment for the 1LE model of this vehicle. They are a direct bolt-on with no bracket required. I provided a freshly cerakoted caliper as well as new rotors and pads, and a caliper rebuild kit. He successfully rebuilt the calipers and installed them.About two weeks after the install, I began to feel a shudder when braking that felt very similar to a warped rotor. It happened at lower speeds especially. It gradually got worse until I went to the shop to advise them I was feeling some abnormal vibration on the third week. He agreed to take the vehicle in and look over it on Wednesday 12/13 -- Unfortunately I didn't make it that far. The very following day (Saturday 12/9) the passenger side front caliper came loose from the hub while I was driving causing it to bang and scrape my wheel well as well as the caliper itself. The top of the caliper also grinded into the rotor shredding off some metal as well.I had the vehicle towed to back to this shop and the following day and he refused to cover the damages for the wheel, caliper and rotor stating that he secured the brake caliper and that it would have came off sooner. Brake Calipers do not just gradually work themselves loose unless they are not properly tightened. I also did hear and feel shuddering when braking before it finally came a loose. While I'm still uncertain about what happened with the 1999 given then slight bolt pattern differences, It is very clear that the calipers on the 2017 were not properly tightened, or potentially they were over-torqued as this hardware is factory spec for the vehicle. I am very disappointed in their unwillingness to compensate for the damages to my 2017 Camaro. That was a brand new wheel and a freshly cerakoted caliper.
