Super fast and friendly service. Got two of our cars done and inspected in 30 minutes flat! Clean restrooms and nice waiting area with free coffee, tea and drinks while you wait. Loved them and will be back next time I m in South Shore.

I went into BB for a simple oil change because I didn t feel like getting oily hands and having to dispose of the oil so I took them up on their $20 off coupon deal. I thought great, a quick oil change and I m off. Note: I do all my own mechanical work on my 2003 Jaguar SK8. This was right before Covid hit or I would have taken them to court over this because I was so infuriated. While it was in their shop I was called up and was told I needed a new drive belt because it was chaffing and the shock pads on the upper end of my front shocks need replacing. This fascinated me because I recently replaced these items within the previous three to four months. So when I got back up to their shop we opened the hood of my car and the drive belt showed damage like would be created by a tool approximately the same size as a number six screw drive was held in place against a bracket and it cut a perfect width groove cut into the belt and the rubber bumpers on the upper end of the shock absorbers were literally melted by Some sort of chemical. I assure you I show the following pictures to anyone who say they going to the black bear for mechanical service. They create extra work for themselves by damaging your cars. They can lie to you and feel confident in doing it. It is allowed in their society and faith. Do not trust them. I know because I am Arabic myself. They will lie to gain business. They will be caught but please be careful by choosing to use them at all. There are other shops out there so why even take the chance using this shop. They have a lot of positive reviews but believe me there are as many negative reviews but the negative reviews don t usually get written until we are reminded to do so. Like I was. I m adding a couple pictures for your review. It took me four days to repair the damage they created plus another $350. Don t let them roll you. Take pictures of your engine before you put your car in. Hide cameras and record them doing the work. They are unworthy of your trust. The first is exterior of strut housing where the rubber bumper was installed. The second is a picture of Inside of the housing where the rubber melted inside the cover and the last is the formed puddle of rubber. I can t find the pictures of the drive belt so do what you may but be careful and be warned. Go somewhere else. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Good luck.Service: Oil change

Great place. Honest and quick. Thought my car needed some extra service, they checked everything out and nothing extra was need. So great to find an auto shop that does not take advantage of female customers!! I will be back.

Terrible place to do business with, the hire undocumented immigrants and convicted felons. Adeel calls his customers bottom feeders and low life s. They have no respect for myself or the high amounts of money I spend with them. Do not go to this shop.

They are always professional, thorough and fast. I've reliability gotten inspections and oil changes done on my lunch break. I'm sure that care would extend to a more involved service as well.

I have a vehicle with strange issues and have been taken advantage of on the last several repairs. I nervously took 'Mindy' in as she was being weird... Again... These guys were so professional and straightforward. They fixed the issue, gave great advice and called me to see about the repair the next week! Wow! Customer for life... I am so grateful.

I've had other friends speak highly of them, so I have made an appointment to get my Tahoe fixed there. Update took my Tahoe in to be repaired and they fixed a lot of other things that I didn't know that hat was wrong, anyway I'm happy with the work they did and car shield paid the bill so I'll go back

This was my very first time visiting Blackbear Automotive, and I've got to say they did not disappoint. Carl at the front desk is very knowledgeable and provided great service. This is a very honest, trustworthy, and reputable establishment. I will definitely be back for any future needs.

Some pros first: the manager Edwin and the front desk guy with red hair were very friendly and personable. I called and was told to bring it in at 8am.Huge con: They will try to up sale you with services you do not need!! As a women I feel like you have to be very mindful of this. I am not knowledgeable of everything that goes on with my vehicle but Hondas are pretty easy to maintain and I was a mechanic for a short time in the military many many moons ago.I went in to get AC diagnosed and recharged. It was not hot yet but it just wasn t blowing super cold and having just moved from Virginia to Texas I knew it might start to struggle. I Was quoted a price of $289 for flush&recharge. They kept my vehicle most of the day and when I called at 3p they had just started the diagnosis. The owner called back a few minutes later and said my fan was not working AT ALL and now I required a new one at about $450 more. Not just a suggestion but that it was completely broken. I refused and decided to go get the vehicle. He did offer to do the work I originally requested the next day at a discounted rate, but I needed to clarify if one thing could be done without the other. I brought it back the next day, they recharged it and the AC is cold for a quarter of the cost. The broken fan is working intermittently. I might have a leak somewhere but a dye test can determine that and I would have it checked if it ran out quickly. Usually a recharge last about two years on this vehicle with 230,000+ miles.Overall my experience was ok but the unnecessary extras made it more frustrating. I won t make assumptions about why but I will just say verify what work is being done and why. Verify what is required versus suggested. Video or take pictures of the faults you are seeing before taking your vehicle in.

Came in for an inspection recently and their machine was down. For the inconvenience, the manager promisedhe d have it back up and running in a few days and to please return and he wouldn t charge me. As promised, upon my return, he did not charge me. Talk about 5 star customer service! Thank you Black Bear Automotive!

The staff continues to amaze me, as they are always fair and honest. Last week they couldn t fix my wiper motor because the wiring diagram is in German. Although they spent a lot of time trying to diagnose and fix the problem, they charged me 0.I mentioned I was going to Uber up to get my car and they dropped it off at my house!Such a great establishment!

Went in to get an oil change and was greeted by Carl England who did an outstanding job taking care of me and my vehicle. The place was clean and the service was professional. This is a great spot to come down and have your vehicle serviced.

I've used them for multiple vehicles for inspections, oil changes and minor issues that don't require dealer service. Today, they topped off my coolant at no charge and had me in and out in 10 minutes. Their customer service and friendliness are top notch. Glad to have them in the neighborhood.

Hands down best service and they make themselves available. No upselling, pressure tactics and informative. Can get my oil changed, car inspected and all levels of work done. Black Bear was efficient and quick in the repair of my sons car. I brought it in due to the starter not working. Once we got it towed they called to say the car was working fine , however when we got there it didn t start. At that time they confirmed the starter was bad. I gave 4 Stars and not 5 as mechanics is not my background and I knew from basic knowledge it was the starter. However they did still repair it the same day. It has worked perfectly from the time of repair almost 3 weeks ago.

I visited Black Bear several months ago with brake concerns. After a quick inspection, they determined the pads were still good and had approx 30% life remaining. No charge. No upselling. No dishonest car repair tactics. Honest business approach .a rarity in todays world.I returned recently and had AC, brakes, struts, etc all replaced. All done as quoted with supporting photos of the necessary repairs.Job well done and thanks for your honest approach!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Vehicle Inspection, A/C installation & repair

Blackbear Automotive is great. Courteous and professional service. They offer transportation if needed. Full service facility. Timely service. I took my car in for its annual inspection and took the paperwork across the street to Randall's to get the registration and went back to Blackbear and put it on for me. I tried to tip them and they wouldn't accept. Highly recommended.

These guys were awesome. Dropped it off with my description and suspicion of the issue. I explained that I think my serpentine belt needs to be replaced bc my truck squeals loudly when I turn it on and it's happening more frequently now. I'm also at 110k miles. They called me an hour later or so explaining that they couldn't duplicate the sound and they were unsure that the belt was the issue. I told them just to go ahead and do it due to mileage. My truck is quieter than it's been in a while. Loving it. They also did my oil change (i brought my own mobile 1 synthetic) and did my state inspection. Fair pricing and no fuss, no BS trying to upsell me on anything, just great service. Thanks, guys.-Chris

Everyone here was EXTREMELY helpful, I'm 23 and its the first time I've never felt 'taken advantage' of at an automotive store, everyone here is so helpful, Edwin and the store owner went above and beyond helping me with my car, extremely fast service. Had quite a few issues with the underneath of my car and they fixed it in such a timely manner. I will always recommend this place to family and friends, if you're looking to bring your car here, definitely do it. Definitely the perfect auto place and mechanics for the south shore area.

Super friendly and helpful. We have used them for several repairs on our daughter's car and they are always so honest and take care of the problem, even if it means doing it again. I went here because my check engine light was on and I wanted to be sure my car wasn t going to break down. They fully took care of my car and we re extremely helpful in explaining what was going on each step of the way. They were even able to text me about my car while I was at work, so I didn t have to stay there all day. It was definitely a great experience. They re not the cheapest repair place, so if you re looking for a bargain, you should probably look elsewhere. But if you re looking for someone to confidently fix your car, without trying to upsell you on anything, that also has friendly helpful customer service, this is the place to go.

We were out of town and the engine light came on. It was a cam sensor and they got the sensor replaced in about 3 hours. Fair price and they asked us to drive it 100 miles and call them back if the light did not come back on and to bring it right back If it did come on. Nice people here.

I just moved to the area so I called Black Bear today to get my vehicle inspected. They were very polite and said to bring it right in. The lobby was very clean with pleasant music and they had me in and out in only a few minutes. Before I left I asked if they inspect motorcycles as well. The answer was yes so I went home (I live close by) and brought the motorcycle back. Same quick service. I then asked if they provide warranty service for my vehicle which has an extended warranty. Trustworthy. Blackbear was great and worked well with my insurance company to replace a part that was stolen. They weren't pushy, provided me with clear options, and made this an easy process from start to finish. After having something stolen off my car, it was refreshing to deal with someone I felt I could trust.
