Awesome customer service! Mr. Fernando took his time diagnosing the power shortage in my truck and assured me that he would help in any way to fix the issue when I was ready. I will DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone.

TLDR: They charged me almost $800 + possibly thousands more for something that didn't need to be fixed. Read all the 1 star reviews telling you what these people did because I believe those reviews 100%.holy smokes where do I even start. I rarely write reviews but i'm writing this to warn you all. Been using them for over 7 years for all 3 of our cars since we moved to Katy despite knowing they have bad reviews, and they've been ok for oil change/inspection so we kept using their service.I went because of a noise coming from inside the car and they said I need to fix a bunch of stuff for almost $800. Also told me if that doesn't fix the problem, the transmission needs to be replaced. On a car with only 40k miles... I decided to try it, but later called them and asked to cancel the order they made for the parts delivery, and the front desk woman hung up immediately after saying 'no problem'. real professionalism there. I went to a different mechanic and they said nothing is wrong with the wheel nor the engine and assured me that the noise from inside the car. I made an appointment at the dealership and it turned out to be a loose engine cover and they fixed it for free.Needless to say, my family wont be coming back EVER. I like to support family owned businesses and i know lots of other people want to support them too, but this place ain't it, y'all. do NOT trust them with your car. save yourselves time and hard earned money and don't go to this place. Extremely shady and unprofessional. read all the 1 star reviews, there is even a review from their ex-employee. they don't deserve nothing but 0 star. shame on you fernando and his fam. y'all ain't getting my money.

Moved to the area and found them around the corner. Everything has been fine for basic things. However, you are never allowed to speak to the mechanic and the front lady tries to make you feel like you know absolutely nothing. We took the vehicle this latest time to get work done and of course the bill was pricey and all parts had warranty. It started acting up 3 days later and we took it back they made us feel like the issue never happened and said they can t do anything if the vehicle isn t doing it right at the moment. Vehicle started acting up again took a video of it to show and they said nope they wouldn t look at it still. Their final word was they accidentally over filled it and that s why it was leaking. Horrible service will not return to this shop again.Service: General repairs & maintenance

They have advertisments out front stating that they are also a muffler shop but clearly they're not.I came here on a Saturday at around 12am. I told the lady I wanted to get mufflers put on my car but she said they were closing soon so they couldn't. They close at 2pm on Saturdays, I'm sure they had time.Anyways I came back on a Tuesday, then I tell the lady again that I wanted mufflers put on my car because it was too loud (i have a straight pipe). She then proceeds to tell me that adding mufflers will make it louder, that I'll need a whole new exhaust system. She's clearly not educated on how exhaust systems work. So they end up lifting my car to look at it. I even showed her a picture of how to add the mufflers, it was a basic simple job, just cut my pipe and weld a new muffler.I couldn't even go into the garage to speak to the mechanic because the lady is like the middle man or the "boss", who knows how accurately she relays messages and she needs to be more educated on how mufflers work.Anyways they put my car back down and bring it up front and the lady says they have to order a whole new muffler/exhaust system for me. I told her I only wanted a muffler welded to my current pipe not order a whole new muffler, like what the heck. They're just trying to make money and charge for labor.According to all the other bad reviews, I shouldn't have even came here. They wasted my time.

I always come here for my oil change. For my last oil change I went somewhere else and my maintenance required light turned on 2 weeks after. They helped me figure out they just didn't reset it correctly after the oil change. Will continue coming here! Everyone is super nice, knowledgeable and welcoming!

Fernando s Auto Repair has serviced two of my company vehicles, they were always in constant communication with me about the repairs. Their service and thoroughness speaks volumes and shows they truly care and aim to fix your vehicle right the first time.

The mechanics do a really good job BUT you have to bite ur tongue when dealing with Anyone working there. They are All Rude for No reason! Even their prices are reasonable. The Disrespect is So Real. Its run by the owners wife and she is combative right out the box. No eye contact and talking down to u. Questioning if u really know what u are asking to have done and if u really understand what you need. Repeating herself as if u are stupid and gets offended if u get upset at her treatment Lol. Ive witnessed and felt the Disrespect. Sooo. Good work , Good price , Horrible Customer Service.

Avoid this place, by all means possible!!! They re horrible!!!! They will over charge and not even fix your vehicle correctly! (I had them replace the transmission on a vehicle I own, 4400 dollars later, the vehicle ran for about a week, and of course no warranty!!!) I had been using them for awhile since it was convenient (close to home) but I m done! After today oil change and vehicle inspection. I will no longer be a customer. The guy told me my vehicle failed because I needed to change my tire, so I went and got a new one, when I return now it s something different. So when I got upset, the owners son-in-law wanted to fight me, he was pushing me, what kind of business are they running here. I pay for services performed and then I m threatened. Take your money/vehicles else where.

Good work ethic amongst staff. Reasonably priced and very knowledgeable and informative. I would recommend for basic automotive needs to more complex repairs. They've changed my oil several times and recently replaced my radiator. Good job thus far... hopefully I will only need to bring my truck back for oil changes!

TERRIBLE FRAUDULENT BUSINESS. If I could give them a negative star, I would. I took my car because my check engine light was on and they guaranteed me my car would be repaired and ready in one day. Well, one day turned into two and two days turned into three until finally FIVE DAYS later I was informed that my car was ready. I was very annoyed and frustrated at their lack of communication and dishonesty and at that point I just wanted my car back. When I get there the receptionist was very rude and did not care to talk to me, but she made it clear that she wanted my payment. I paid and the mechanic didn t bother to explain to me the issue; he didn t tell me why it took so long; he said that it wasn t his fault for any miscommunication and that my car was fixed . I was over it and I just wanted my car back. I got in my car and drove away only for my AC to turn off AND the check engine like to turn on 10 MINUTES LATER. I immediately turned back and asked the receptionist to let me speak to the mechanic. She was one of the most disrespectful women I have ever encountered; she told me that they were not responsible for any damages done to my car and that they fixed what they were paid to fix. She refused to let me speak with the mechanic and the mechanic didn t care to talk to me. I couldn t believe their response and unwillingness to assist me. I am appalled and disgusted at their fraudulent business practices. WHO DOES THIS? I have now taken my car to ANOTHER mechanic and was informed that mechanical wiring was unnecessarily altered with causing my car s AC to not work and the check engine light to turn on. 0/0 Stars SCAM ALERT!Very unprofessional and dishonest! They WILL SCAM YOU!The front lady had an attitude from the beginning and when I asked questions, she was always on her phone texting or talking to someone. Rather than talking to me, she was yelling back and forth all while rolling her eyes. I went in for an oil check and when I left, my AC was no longer working. This has NEVER happened before! I tried to ask the mechanics what happened and they refused to look at it unless I paid more. On top of that, they stained my brand new cleaned seats! The entire staff was RUDE, DISHONEST, IGNORANT, and did not want to be held accountable for what was clearly their mistake! DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES THEY CAUSE!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I always have a great experience here. My husband and I get our oil changes, our inspections and I'm about to go in for an alignment this week. They are fast and friendly and unless something crazy happens, I will be returning for all of my services and support small businesses.

They are great for oil changes and small jobs but I had some major issues and took it to Fernando's and he fixed it but when another issue came up he suggested a $1200 to replace the entire part when all that was needed was the bushings needed replaced. I took it to someone else who said it was not necessary to replace the whole part and they replaced just the bushings for 1/3 the cost.

Should have read the reviews first...Overpriced for BS work. I'm very disappointed in what I have experienced and have read in the reviews. The staff was kind but I do feel my intelligence was taken as a joke. They repeated to me everything I told them about my car when I walked in the door then wanted to charge me $125 to put coolant in my car just to see what MIGHT be wrong with my A/C. The gentleman literally lifted my car and put it right back down, lifted the hood, then said he couldn't find anything wrong. I don't live in Katy (I live in Austin), so you can bet I won't be back.

Short story: 3 weeks, $330 and a worse braking system than before i went in there.I got my brakes done by them. My car was a few more than 100k mi old and I was doing the recommended 100k mi service. My braking system progressively got worse as soon as i left the shop.It started with the faint grinding that they didn't hear. Told me to come back in a week if it doesn't go away.It didn't go away, so I'm back the next week. Another guy, much older, couldn't hear it. I noted that the guy was older because the sound coming from the brakes was a high pitched noise. Told me to come back in a week and if it persists, he would replace the part under warranty.I go back the next week. They tell me that they warped the disk but they would replace it... For ~$400.Never going back there, I would not trust them to put air in my tire.Advice: For most cars, do it yourself, it takes ~$130 to buy a jack and jackstands at harbor freight (which is way less than what they charged me for the service of breaking my brakes), a socket set, maybe a clamp, and maybe an hour per corner for a beginner.

Long story short, I went there because i had problems with my suv turning on. They couldn't find anything wrong. I ended up leaving the shop only to realize a minute after that my ac wasn't working!!!! I returned right away and obviously They denied any wrongdoing but the least they could have done was to check my ac to see if they found anything, they just flat out rudely told us it wasn't them and basically told us to leave!! Worst customer service. Frauds it's what they are.

Extremely expensive and rude staff. I went because I thought since they were a family business would be good, on the contrary. I called to inquire about my vehicle and I got cursed at. Literally: "what the f@# do you want us to do with your car?".. On to of that, wanted to charge me $125 for cleaning some oil off. Stay away from this place, owner is rude and arrogant.

Went to Fernandos to have front struts on Ford Expedition replaced due to one blowing out and the front of the vehicle bouncing. They took me in right away the same day and stayed late to finish the job. Staff is very polite and the price beat many shops in the area. Problem came when I drove the vehicle the next day. There was an obvious rattling and clunking sound in the front end. Took it back and they told me nothing was wrong, but tried to sell me on sway bar link and inner tie rod replacement. Turns out there was an issue. They did not replace the upper strut mounts, so the old ones being compressed from age, when the strut shaft nut was all the way tight there was still a gap. So the strut was not fully tight and would rattle. Can't believe they did not figure this out.

Brought my truck for a diagnosis and they basically told me it would take a day or two. I left because it should not take this long for a diagnosis but I decided to come back and the lady was very rude and told me they can no longer diagnosis it I would have to Come back the following week. I do not understand how you would turn down some business and be rude about it. Glad I left after seeing the reviews

Went in to see if they could weld up my catalytic converters since they almost got stolen off my truck. They put it on the lift and told me what it would be to do the job. Picked my truck up after repairs, drove it home and I felt loss of power. Took it to the dealer the next day and they found exhaust leaks due to bad welds. Had to take it to another shop to get the bad welds patched up and I gained my power back. Customer service was great but the task didnt get done properly. Just because you can do a thing doesnt mean you specialize in it. Guess I should have asked more questions about their welding skills.

Lady at register is unprofessionally rude. We went here for an inspection and the guy who did the inspection came to the front counter and told the lady the car passed inspection, but the inspection report will not print. The lady went to the back with the guy who did the inspection and they both came back and told us they cannot pass the inspection because one of the rear tires does not have enough tread!! The tire is not that bad, and my husband specifically told her he is taking it to a tire shop today for all new tires. She didn t give a damn and was rude. GO ELSEWHERE!! Never will I come here again.

Do not take your vehicle to this shop. They will misdiagnosis your vehicle, charge you for the repairs. If the issue continues they will charge you again to fix the real issue. They are only interested in making money. Customer service is horrible. Stay the $%#^ away from this place, unless you like to get ripped off.

I have been taking my family and commute vehicles to Fernando for about 4 or 5 years. I have gone there for power window motor replacement, AC vaccuum hose issues (broken A.C), and also just inspections and brake service. I don't speak Espanol, but his wife has always been diligent in making sure he understand my issue. It is 2014, and I can now say that Fernando seems to not need his wife much now, as I noticed he speaks and understands much more English than wife I first became a customer. He is a second-generation auto repairman, second generation business owner, and I was very pleased to see that they have earned their way into a bigger shop on Misty Cove. Aesthetics don't matter much to me, but the newer shop is bigger and all new, but not showy like some other more expensive places.Here's what I can say about the service and and the cost: Fernando's shop has always dealth with me fairly and upfront, which I can't say for any of the competition, especially the nice-office shopfronts that have all the marble countertops. Fernando has done many repairs for me for prices I thought were reasonable, and he often was able to finish the work fairly quickly, though sometimes they can get busy like most places do on the weekend. I trust him and I would not go there if their rates were too much. What drew me there the first time was that they offered a free computer reading diagnostic for an engine light on a Hyundai. The shop down the street wanted $150 just to run the diagnostic!! Sorry, no thanks! I don't know if Fernando still offers that, but he made me a long term customer with everything they have done for me since then.

We took my jeep liberty there on tuesday may the 1st to get a diagnostic and fix since i would have trouble turning my car on very often. They told us they couldnt make a diagnostic since my car worked fine while there, fine there is no problem. As soon as i started driving my car i noticed my ac wasnt working so i callee my husband who was driving behind me to go back to the shop to see what happened. We thought maybe they disconnect something and forgot to plug it back or did something by mistake or something like that, when my husband explained that my ac wasnt working he said the mechanic started laughing and told him that they didnt do anything, that the only thing they did the entire time my truck was there was turning it on, off and on again. But that they hadnt done anything and they were so sure, my husband said the mechanic kind of got an attitude like if my husband was accusing him of messing up the ac, but my husband was simply asking them if by mistake they had done something. My husband and i thought maybe even if its not their fault they at least could have pop up the hood and check if there was something disconnected, that would have take what 5 or 10 min maybe?! But no. They didnt offer to check. I mean if there was something to be fix we could have pay for it, even if "they said" they did nothing wrong! But they were very unprofessional laughing and not trying to fix or help a customer. They had just lost our business and now we will have to take my car to another shop.

I'm selling my car on Craigslist and a interested costumer tells me they want to get a diagnostic from this place, I bring the car and let the mechanic take it in, 10 min pass and he tells me the car doesn't want to start, I went in with the mechanic to see the car, he had a diagnostic computer connected to it, I disconnected it and the car started right away, I instantly told them to stop what they're doing and cancel everything, I still had to pay 40 to this SHADY mechanic shop.

Wonderful service from the front Desk Mrs Glenda to the service guys in the back..Went in to get Flowmasters put on my truck. Had a lot of choices and they helped me find the right one for my truck. Got that deep growl on my truck sounds great!!!!!!
