I own a 1992 HDJ81 that needs a lot of what I would call catch-up maintenance along with some other basic upgrades/replacements. I waited a week or so to meet with Mike Dadja. He drove the cruiser and scheduled a day for me to bring the truck by for a full inspection. I dropped the truck off on a Sunday afternoon and did not get the truck back for 2 weeks. I thought that s why I scheduled an appointment so it wouldn t be there for more than a day or two like any other inspection I have ever had done. I was charged a whopping $375 but was okay with paying it trusting Dajda s shop was the best around and this was the price to have a certified Toyota diesel mechanic take a good look. I went by twice while my truck was waiting for an inspection and Mike Dajda wasn t around. The serval times I have called, Mike Dajda, was not around either and was told by Michael, He ll be back next week. I suspect this is mostly likely the reason for some peoples long waits. I have now been waiting another 2 weeks to get any pricing or indication of a start date. This past week I called 3 days consecutively and no one picked up the phone the first 2 days. Left a voicemail the first 2 days. The third day (Wed 4/3/24) I got a woman on the phone who apologized and told me it had been a hell of week and that someone would call me back. The next two working days went by and nothing. I believe Mike Dajda is a fantastic mechanic from how he sells himself and the things that I have read online. However, his shop seems overwhelmed to the point of ignoring customers who are willing to pay a premium for his credentialed knowledge and experience. I could have had my vehicle inspected for less than half of what he charged but wanted Mike to be the one to go through it. I have been saving up for two years to get my funds together to get my Land Cruiser worked on by the right guy. I get strong indications of it taking another 6 months just to get mechanicals in order. If you don t need your truck anytime soon and have beaucoup dollars to spend this is probably a great shop for you. I personally don t have the patience for the unknown timelines and painfully lacking communication. It has taken me over a month and $375 to just get an inspection and I still do not have any pricing or parts ordered.

Cannot possibly write a good enough review for this place.I called them after discovering an issue with my trucks rear differential only two days before needing it for a cross country road trip. Mike spoke to me on the phone, talked through everything, and got rolling on ordering the part asap so it was ready to install next day.His employees got right to work and had me back on the road the next day so I didn't have to delay my trip. They were up front and honest about what they thought needed done, got it done, and were super cool to hang out with while waiting. Everyone there was awesome to meet and deal with and they saved my road trip I had been planning for months. They were also incredibly knowledgeable. If you have a Land Cruiser or Toyota, this is THE place to take it.

As an 80 series Land Cruiser owner in the DFW area, it is hard to find a shop that you can trust to do the job right and go the extra mile. Look no further than Dajda s. I needed help installing a suspension lift and some other general maintenance and I can say that Mike and Michael will take care of you like an old friend. Disclaimer: they do take awhile to get to your vehicle due to the large volume of other cruiser owners needing repairs. I understand this may be an inconvenience to most, but if you want the job done right and for your cruiser to get the attention it needs, then that s the price you have to pay.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment

I was at this shop on Wednesday to get my vehicle check engine light checked. First the guy up front said that they only work on Toyota, doesn t the sign say auto care? Then he turned around and keep walking! the guy at the front desk was rude and condescending. So I bid them farewell went down the street to Meineke. They took me in with a smile and fixed the problem.

Top notch shop, there s a reason the enthusiast community on Ih8mud and Facebook highly recommend them. One of the best land cruiser specialists in the country.Had some engine problems since I bought my 91 landcruiser, the owner of the shop does the work on the cars and he was honest and straightforward with everything. Normally you go to a shop and expect them to try and take your money. These guys are the opposite, they will call and explain every issue.Couldn t recommend them more I hope people see these reviews and give them their business. Look no further than Ih8mud or google reviews, or you can just take my word on it.Service: Engine repair

After having done a lot of work myself on my 100 series Land Cruiser, I had a suspension-related issue I couldn't resolve. I took it to Mike and he accepted it with open arms. He made time for me and took a thorough test ride for a preliminary diagnosis. I left it with him for a couple of days and he did a great job with the repair. I couldn't be more impressed with the shop and recommend him to anyone with a Land Cruiser.

Mike Dajda has worked on multiple cruisers for me. The latest (1981 FJ40 US Spec) has been in their shop twice for small repairs... 2 months first go-around, then a month later, I brought it in. It's been 3 months, and Michael told me they don't have the manpower to finish the job (Transfer case output bearings). If you want your toys sitting for months at a shop, then by all means..... but I believe in communication and customer service.... something you just DO NOT get with Michael. Never seen a shop foreman who is so checked out, like he is. If you don't mind waiting 24-48hrs for any kind of response, then Michael is your guy. It's a shame that their shop has gotten to this point. If there was any kind of ownership on Michael's part, I would have never made this review. Look at my history..... I have never left a bad review. This is just to lookout for others who are told this shop is the best...... Not anymore.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance

Mike is a fantastic mechanic. He s the only place I would ever bring my vintage land cruiser to. Found mike several years ago when I needed my 4Runner worked on. Does things right! Really has a passion and talent for Toyota s. Thanks mike!

Many Land Cruiser owners, like me, pride themselves on wrenching on their own vehicles. But sometimes the jobs can be too big or time consuming to handle on your own. Mike is a magician with these rigs and everyone should feel comfortable placing their trust in his hands. If you are bored and love old 40s, 60s and 80s then drop by just to cruise the lot and look at the trucks on site.

I did some research and these guys had a great reputation. Had my truck shipped there from storage in July of 21. Had a list of stuff that needed to be done. Nothing major - ac fix, valve adjustment, power steering box, etc. etc. They quoted me a price and told me it would be 3-4 weeks. Not a bad wait.THEY HAD THE TRUCK FOR SIX MONTHS. After the first month, they stopped returning calls. they still had the truck. I would call and ask when it would be ready, what work had been done, whether I could get it back... They wouldn't call back and I'd have to call again, and again, and again. Finally I called them up and told them to finish what they could and I was coming to pick it up. They had done about half the work they said they would do at this time. When I picked it up, the mechanic told me "Oh by the way the ac doesn't work, I don't know why." I asked him whether they'd charged me for the ac work. Yes. Whether they'd done the ac work. Yes. Why then didn't they know why it wasn't working? "Oh, I just got back from vacation last week, I don't know." Dude. You've had the truck for six months. You're charging me for the work. It doesn't work. And your response is "I don't know, I was on vacation." Fantastic.I took the truck to another shop, and they completed the work. They had to take apart the ac system again to figure out what went wrong at dajdas. Turns out dajdas simply forgot to tighten the nut holding the expansion valve on. Just plain forgot. Didn't do it. The new shop took a video of the issue during the diagnostic, and again when they tore it apart to fix it. I sent that video to dajda.I called dajda's over and over trying to get some sort of resolution. Their only offer "you have to bring the truck back here so we can fix it. I told them "you had the truck for six months. You did half the work you agreed to do in that time. What you DID do, wasn't done properly. Now you want me to give you the truck again?!?!? Why on earth would I do that? Would YOU do that in my shoes?" I asked for some money back to help pay for the second shop to fix their mistakes. They didn't do that. They didn't offer some sort of compromise. They didn't even have the courtesy to tell me no. Just more phone call dodging and total lack of respect. My last call to them was me saying "look it makes us both look like a-holes that I have to keep chasing you. Have the self respect to just tell me you're not going to make this right." Nope. So here we are.Just a terrible, terrible experience. Don't take your chances on this shop.Services: Exhaust, Brakes, Air conditioning

Mike took my poorly running 1984 FJ60 and turned it into a performance machine. I m not mechanical and had a couple of different experts do things 75% right. Well, that 25% caught up and Mike personally took ownership of my truck like it was his own. New carb, correctly installed suspension, corrected de smog and dozens of small things that made a huge difference. I m guessing I gained 15HP! I m so pleased that if I ever left the DFW area I would ship my truck to Mike if anything major was required. He s that good, and his prices are fair and he s a honest as they come.

Dajda Auto Care is like your Doctor who takes the time and care on your vehicle making sure it is in tip-top running condition. What I like about Dajda Auto Care, they will take the time to inventory the items of repairs that you can either fix now or in a few months. This is old fashion service only a handful of mechanics will provide. I have taken my cars, trucks, motorhome and motorcycle. Their abilities are second to none.
