I was in a bind with my daughter's car. She attends university in Huntsville and I live 3 hours away. Everyone has heard horror stories about dishonest mechanics and such......needless to say, I was prepared for the worst. The truth of the matter was quite the opposite from the time I first called and explained the situation to Frances til I picked the car up the next day from Jimmy. They knew my concern for my daughter and they treated us like family. I'll definitely return to Jimmy if I have any work in the future and I'll absolutely recommend them with 5 stars!

They always do an excellent job. We have been taking our older vehicles for several years. I had a warranty at a truck dealer so my dealership took my truck there for a transmission issue. It was taken back multiple times ultimately I paid my truck off before the warranty ended on my truck from the dealership. I went 101 with Jimmy, the owner who seem to be really nice at first; he welcomed my truck back it took quite a few weeks there because they are backed up. I thought well it must be because they do such good work but every time I got my transmission work done from him within 3 months I was back. The last time I took it to him the end of August 2023 and let him know I was having some home life issues; had recently been laid off and I felt they took advantage. He took my truck said he rebuilt it, said it would shift hard in second gear for a few months and told me never to return to his shop that he never wanted to see my face or my truck again. 3 months later in November my truck started acting up again. I called and fran hung up on me. Today my truck completely stopped working. the transmission is completely out and it broke down on the highway today is Dec 10th, leaving me stranded in the cold today and I had no one to ask for a ride home. I'm calling an attorney and I have put a call and email into the news channels. How can you tell me you rebuilt a whole transmission 3 months ago and it left me stranded on the road? It won't even drive; it won't go anywhere and then tell me to never show up there again when you should honor your work and your work is not honored when you see a 45-year-old woman with no family stranded because of this transmission he told me he just rebuilt, he should have some kind of warranty on it and to tell me never to come backI've never done anything to deserve them to talk to me like that and I only took it There bc he initially did the work. Needless to say I am without a vehicle bc of this shop. Meanwhile I broke down at the vet's office only to find out they used zip ties for my gears to shift. Extremely unacceptable

Buyer beware!!! I paid for a rebuilt transmission and it worked great for about 8 months. Then the first break down happened stranding my son on the side of the freeway. I had to foot the bill to get it towed from baytown to Huntsville, because they don't cover towing even though it's thier rebuild. Second break down happens again about 8 months after the previous warrenty issue. Again my son stranded at the light of a busy intersection. Call in hopes of getting a resolution instead I'm told it's out of warranty and there is nothing we can do. This transmission is about a year and a half old with less than 6,000 miles and basically I was told this morning "oh well". If you want a job well done and get what you pay for, go somewhere else!!!

My truck wasn't shifting properly. A friend recommended walker co because of past experiences. When I arrived the lady at the front desk asked the technician to check it out.he hooked it up to his computer and found the Trans. Wasn't getting any power. Found a blown switch. He replaced the defective switch. And didn't charge me a penny. This is an honest business. They have my recommendation.Service: Transmission

Very helpful team. I travel for work and I had an awful burning smell that I couldn't pinpoint it. I googled WCT and went straight there. Jimmy was very kind and helpful. Will definitely recommend and will be back.

Rebuilt my transmission at a competitive price. Even changed the rear main seal while transmission was out, upcharge for rear main was only 37 dollars. When I asked if I should take it easy after rebuild, the man said, hell no, drive it like u stole it, because when you bring it back for the 2 week checkup, I want to know it was tested. I had a place where I would take my vehicles, he retired from the business. I was informed of Walker County Transmission and Auto Repair. I took my 2002 Chevy there for transmission fluid change. I've been a steady customer since. They do very good quality work. Jimmy explains the work that needs to be done and gives you a estimate that is accurate. There are no surprises, he calls to let you know, if additional work needs to be done. So I say, bring your vehicle to them and let them help you get the most out of your vehicle for many miles of HAPPY driving.

Update on review they lied about parts they installed I requested a triple disc tourq converter, was just informed that's not what's in my truck.I gave them the benefit of the doubt after reading the other reviews. They rebuilt my transmission only lasted a few thousand miles. As others stated they act like you are bothering them, more specifically the woman they have working the front desk. Overall bad experience. I edited my first review based off of when I picked the truck up. Now taking into consideration that not only do they have the worst customer service, their rebuild did not even last 5k miles.

Reliable, dependable, full of integrity, honest, trustworthy, All around is a really great business! Great work ethics as well. I'm impressed! I had my radiator and transmission replaced. They really went above and beyond for me. I will most definitely use them again. Iv finally found my mechanics after living here in Texas for 3 years now. Whew. Finally!

Great experience! If having your transmission go out can be considered an experience. They were polite, punctual and had the car ready before they said they would. They kept us informed, carefully explaining what they found wrong and even kept the broken parts for me to look at. Would recommend them to anyone with transmission problems. They even guaranteed the rebuilt transmission for 12 months or 24000 miles!

We picked up metal here and the guy jimmy and he was being very rude I was hispanic and he talked to me like a dog infront of his customers he kicked out when I told him he was being disrespectful I would ask for stuff he pointed with a rude face and not say anything he would be rude most of the time I do not recommend this place zero stars

These guys do fantastic work with reasonable prices. My Dad has been a loyal customer for numerous years. I myself has made Jimmy my personal go to guy when it comes to my Jeep.

These people did me right. I took him a rear end housing for a high performance application. I supplied all the parts that I wanted in the unit and he assembled it right for less than $200... I have been really hard on the rear end with alot of horsepower and torque with absolutely no problems. Hooks up every time.

We had a similar experience to those described here. We took our car for a fairly simple repair, and had to take it back twice to get the job done right (which they eventually did). They seemed irritated at having to fix their own work rather than apologetic for the inconvenience to us.

Charged me for a rebuilt transmission and installed a used transmission, it does hold overdrive, doesn't go into overdrive until it reaches 60 mph. Barely pulls is on wait before it drops out of overdrive. Does not honor warranty. Tried to get both owners to Jimmy and Wayne to honor the warranty, and told to sue they.I would suggest you to stay as far away from from theses shops as possible.

Bearing replaced in 2006 Chev Silverado. In and out as promised. Fair price after comparison shopping several shops in the area. Jimmy and his staff are easy to talk to and friendly. Will use again if need arises. Thanks Jimmy and Staff!

Fixed my transmission in 3 days! Eventho my trucks wrecked. They did a fine job. When they called me on third day I was surprised, ran to the bank and drove off with a brand new rebuilt tranny.

They stoll discontinued rear axel bolts to my 25th Aniversary Trans Am GT. They are huge, so hard to miss or "spill." Had to scavenger hunt A LOT for new onesThey used the wrong size bolt re installing my transmission. It caused an issue for the rest of the work I had to do to fix my car. They didnt install my clutch correctly. First time in 5 years I went to a mechanic. This is why I do most of my own work.

The Owner is one of the most rudest and disrespectful individuals I have ever meet. With a total lack of professionalism. I payed him to fix my transmission and sensor on engine. He over charged me and did not fix the sensor. Does not even rate 1 star.

Jimmy and the crew are very knowledgeable and efficient. Always makes things less stressful and understandable when worried about being taken advantage of. These guys are the answer to ANY Problem you can t fix yourself.

I bring transmission's from Houston. And these are all wrecker transmissions and we all know they get abused. And they get done in a Timely maner. And it's only a little drive done right the first time. Fair pricing friendly and very nolagable and teaches u good maintenance.....

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I stopped in late Friday 11/18/2016(after calling and asking if I can get someone to look at the leak on my trans.) I was aware it was late and understood that it wasn't going to be fixed right then, they took in the car and told me what it was and can do it in about an hour, just not today, asked if they were open on Saturday, to which he replied that he we be there but they are closed... At that point he suggested that I take off from work an hour early the next week, told him if I can't on Monday then Tuesday... Monday comes around and I call the shop to confirm their schedule for this week, and mentioned that I cannot leave work early today but can tomorrow/Tuesday, he said to call before I come, I called the lady in office answered, I said I'm calling to confirm that the car can be worked on if I come in today, she asked his response was to be there at 4.... I showed up at 3:45 only for him to say that they can't work on it today and that's what I get for trying to do something in the middle of the day...I took off from worm-like he askedI called in before I came in-like he askedThen he's got an attitude when I get there like I did something wrong!If you like to be treated like dog $#!+ Then this is the place for you!

Well about 4 years ago I took my 07 Dodge 5.9 Cummins for him to check out the transmission and so forth so on there was a couple of sensors bad did great job he went right back to work and everything was perfect then I started pulling trailers for a living and he put High Performance Kit on the motor to go along with the transmission this past July 2017 now I put 10 grand into that truck and after 6 weeks it melted the Pistons because of poor programming now the Transmissions got a warranty on it does that warranty go for the motor does it specify on my receipt but he wasn't talking too much he did not volunteer anything so do I sue for the 20 grand I'm out the Lost down time for improper installingf did tell me that that program would not harm my truck in any way obviously not here's the pictures of three melted Pistons my truck was paid for I didn't have the money to rebuild it so I took 2k and was forced to by a new

Had my entire clutch system replaced in February 2015. They did a great job. The clutch went out again in November. They kept the truck for 3 weeks and tried to give it back 3 times. Each time the clutch wouldn't work. I finally asked for my truck back to take it somewhere else. It turns out that the problem was an improperly bled master cylinder. I would find somewhere else for transmission repairs. The clutch in my truck went bad a week after they supposedly replaced all of the parts in my clutch system. The shop I took it to said they only replaced the clutch but with the wrong one. I had to spend another 880.00 dollars to have the garbage Walker County Transmissions installed in my truck replaced.These people are crooks and do not know how to repair a standard transmission. I will be seeing them in court. Do not use them for anything. You will be disappointed.
