I was recommended by a friend to contact George so I called and and explained to him that my Mercedes was making a noise but that I wasn't certain what the problem was. George asked me to come the next day in the afternoon and I can say nothing but great things about him. He took my my car for a test drive along with me, felt it slipping in third gear he said but was not overly concerned. Brought it back to the shop, put it up on the lift and looked underneath said it was clean, no leaks.I know nothing about cars but I thought if my transmission was going to be a problem I should get it fixed now. Most mechanics would have jumped at the chance to fix it now but George said it was not necessary to fix it now because it could last another six months, one year or even two. One thing is for sure, when my transmission does go, George will get the job. He gave me an excellent price and I am told that the price he gave me is about half of anywhere else.

I can t say enough good things about George and his shop. He completed the work quickly and communicated the entire tire my car was in the shop, taking pictures of the install and he always answered a call when I had a question. He s more than fair on prices and very trustworthy.If you re looking for a honest, expert mechanic then look no further and call George!

Honesty and Integrity are rare these days. It's especially hard to find when dealing with mechanics. I've taken my classic car here numerous times over the years. George and his team operate with a "Truth Only" motto and his up-front honesty saved me approximately $3000 getting my classic back up and running. That's no joke! Their work is superior, professional, kind, and affordable. Take your vehicle here first!!

When the transmission on my '06 Toyota RAV4 started giving me trouble, I found my way to George through a recommendation from another mechanic. George took my car in and did a complete diagnostic on my transmission the next day. He laid out the honest truth: it's not reparable, so I could gamble on a junkyard part or get a whole new transmission. He was upfront, honest, and understanding of my situation without being pushy or trying to sell me anything just to make a buck. I hope I don't have any more major issues with my new car, but if I need any more work done in the future I'll be back for sure.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

If you are having transmission related issues, George is the person to take your vehicle to. Three auto repair shops, 1000 s of dollars later and major headaches, my 1996 960 Volvo runs beautifully for the first time in 2 years. He also repaired one of the oil leaks without charge, thank you George!, and what hose ( he showed me) to get replaced for the brakes. The only regret I have is not contacting George sooner.Trustworthy, straight forward and knowledgeable. 100%.As a single female, getting auto repairs can be a very costly endeavor because I simply do not know much about auto repair beyond the basics. The last place I took it to and it had great reviews did not even look at the transmission gears. George explained to me how he knew the transmission had not been taken out for many years. The mechanic was awesome and very knowledgeable. I say that because I used to be a mechanic. I went in for my 1996 Ram 1500 transmisilsion noise. He told me these trucks' transmissions always make noise, which is true. He also told me that if I haven't had it service, then do not do it because it could cause it to fail quicker, also true. Told me it better to run it as is and wait to see if it actually goes out. In addition, he said the cost was the same rather he rebuilt it now or when it goes out. He didn't hustle me to get the job or even try to convince me to service it. Gave me sound advice. Trust this guy!

George, the owner, is one of the nicest people you will meet. I asked him to help get to the bottom of a transmission issue I was having and instead of buying part after part and doing repair after repair, he check the car and listed what he found and then gave me all of the possible issues and then suggested I not waste my money! Instead of selling me on a job, that he could hav charged me for, he gave me an honest opinion.. He didn't even charge me! That is what you call an honest mechanic!! I would recommend him to anyone looking for someone who cares about doing right over making money. An honest mechanic!! I wish he did all mechanic work, but a transmission specialist, an honest transmission specialist.. That is hard to find.. Thanks George! God bless!

I am giving George a 5 only because I cannot give him a 10. I removed my transmission and took it to him due to a front seal leak. After explaining what I had going on, George explained the root cause was not with my transmission or the seal, but more likely an issue with my flywheel, or crankshaft, as I had front seal leaks with two different seals.I am not easily impressed with most people, but I am very impressed with how professional, and honest George was he's a super sharp guy who knows his craft, and I would highly recommend taking any transmission issues to him.

I echo all of the other praise for George.If you are the kind of car guy (or gal) who likes to be able to talk to the guy who will be working on your car (instead of some "service writer" who might or might not know the first thing about car repair) George is your kind of mechanic.I needed to replace my clutch and install a limited-slip differential. I've done the clutch myself before, and I know I'd rather pay someone to do that part. George quoted me a reasonable price for the clutch replacement, but the LSD install was outside his area. He called me when he had dropped the transmission, and I took it elsewhere (Armando's Standard Transmission, also a 5-star review) for the work on its innards.My favorite thing: George told me, "tell them to take their time." My car was up on the lift in his shop, taking up space that he might have used for something else, and he was more interested in making sure that someone else did their job right than in clearing the space in his shop for another job.Definitely will return to George when I need transmission work!

I took my Lexus to George based on a recommendation from a friend. From the moment I met George, I could tell he is an honest person. He rebuilt my engine, gave me a fair price and always kept me informed of the status of my repair. I would highly recommend him.

My experience with George was fantastic I took my car to Martinez Auto Repair and they screwed up my car I had to take it back four times they claimed they rebuilt the transmission I was not able to drive my car for 6 months .I took my car to George he rebuilt my transmission he is very professional and he calls you to let you know if he finds anything else he did an complete inspection and he did an amazing job. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone I know

By far the most genuine and best in the business Jorge is probably the best mechanic in the Houston area, I had him fix a timing chain gear for me about a year ago,First and foremost he's a trans specialist and was very happy to get my car running for me. I would recommend him HIGHLY over anyone else he's a very caring and knowledgeable man and I wont let anyone else touch my car. Thanks Jorge sincerely!

I took my car for a Transmission problem at Trans International Transmission on December 21st 2016.George is the owner. After that, I always call him if I have a problem in my car... and he always tells me what it is the best to do and if they can or not to do it.He charged me $250 a transmission leak that he repaired in 3 hours without an appointment!!! ...While in another place "A+ Transmission Specialists" they wanted to have my car for 1 week only to see what was the problem and charge me for that $500 !!!!

Recently took my truck (2002 f150) to a dealer for a new transmission. Called Jorge at Trans International instead and was able to have the work done for a fraction of the cost. I called a few transmission shops in the area and Jorge offered the best deal not to mention was very helpful.They do a complete rebuild including the torque converter rather than replacing only what needs to be done.Jorge called me to let me know when their tow driver got the vehicle, when it was in the shop, and when it was going to be ready. Only took two days.Give them a call.

I'm not to sure what the other reviews are about. But is this is the only transmission shop that didnt pressure me to rebuild my trans ,because of 122,000 miles on it. Jorge, thats the guy to talk to, was very imformative and helpful. He walked me through everything that had to be done and kept his word. He fiixed my transmision slippage and old problems the last mechanic left behind. Finally, after two years of dealing with radiator and hose leaks they were fixed. Every other shop couldnt find my leaks and jorge did in half a day. I was told that my truck would be in the shop for two days. However, that wasnt the case. I took my truck in on Thursday evening and Jorge called me back the next day on Friday at 10 AM and told me my truck was ready!!! It has been since June that I took my truck there and its still running strong! I guess my one year warranty will not be needed.Suprisingly I paid less than $400 bucks for all the work done. Parts,work done on the radiator and hoses,and the labor of getting the trans fixed, electrical wiring misfiries,... the list continues. I know I got a very good deal with quality work done. Thanks. I highly recommend this Trans shop to anyone.

I'm writing this revew because George DIDN'T do any work on my car. Long story short, we drove our car from Pittsburgh to Houston for my son to use while in town for an internship over the summer. On the trip down I noticed that there was some slipping in the transmission. Very minor but still something that was concerning. We didn't want to leave the car and not know what was going on so I took it to George based on the reviews I read online. He took the car for a ride, said it was slipping between 1st and 2nd.So, you brace for the price... He said the Honda transmission is rock solid and this could easilty last for years before it gives out so just drive it and not worry about it.He had an opportunity to sell me a re-build which will someday be necesary but told us that now wasn't the time to do it. I greatly appreciated the honesty and integrity. The only downside is that when it needs to be re-built, the car probably won't be in houston and we'll have to find somebody else.

Took it in on a Friday told me what was wrong with it. He gave me a time line and a price. He even told me what alternations he would have to do if he couldn t get to the transmission and how he would fix it. I couldn t have asked for a better specialist. The price didn t go up at point of purchase and he was very friendly. I will be coming back next year for my yearly maintenance.Service: Transmission

My experience here has been bad. Some people ahve said good things, but my experience was bad. Owner consistently over exagerated and or lied about the process. Thought i could trust him until the final last straw. Said car would be done tuesday or wednesday, and had me ship my aftermarket torque converter back to cali for a cut and clean, and told me to lie to them and say it was making a noise. Due to the time line i shipped it there, overnighted it back, for $200 round trip, plus 90$ cut and clean fee, got it back on thursday, he said he would have it finished on saturday. When i showed up on saturday the torque converter was still in its box, and owner said he had put something "special in my car that i would really like and that i had to talk to the builder to find out the specs" when i talked to the builder he said "We just put a stock one in because the owner didnt tell me you had the other one back already"Owner told me to bring it back first of the week and they would put my (now 900$ torque converter) back in. Called on tuesday, said call wed. called wed, said call thurs. Called thurs, said call friday. Called friday and he said he was really busy and that id have to call again NEXT wednesday to see how their schedule was. He also said he was choosing his words very wisely as to not tell me any time or date that they would actually finish the job. I asked if he could just refer me to someone who could install it and he said no, that i needed to just wait on them, and check back next week. I explained that my car is in the build stage, and I still have to go get paint, have the interior done, and more, and needed to know a real time they could finish the job, and owner said he would not give me an actual date. I am going now to pick up my torque converter, and have someone else do the job. Im very tempted to buy another transmission and just give him the whole thing back, and get my money back. Having someone BLATANTLY lie to you, and exaggerate the quality of parts they put in, makes me afraid to trust them on anything.

I found Trans International in the Green sheet after I thought I need a new transmission. The owner asked me some questions over the phone and told me that based on the information I told him it didn't sound like I needed a transmission at all but that he would have it towed to his shop to be looked at, it was all downhill from there. The owner told me that my transmission was no good and that he would have to rebuild me another and that it would be $2,000, I told him I didn't have that kind of money so he then proceeded to scam me further and conveniently gave me the name of a loan company that he "sometimes" works with. After learning that they would charge me double to repay the loan I decided that I just wanted my car back so I went to pick my car up, now I never gave consent for this guy to start any work on my car and when I went to retrieve my vehicle no work had been done, he told me I was not going anywhere with the car and that I should call the police and see wont they side with him. After calling the police I was told by the police that this was there 4th time this year coming out for a complaint such as mine and to take him to court. WARNING!! WARNING!! DO NOT LET THIS MAN GET YOUR CAR ON HIS LOT HE DOES NOT PRACTICE GOOD BUSINESS TACTICS PLEASE!!! THIS HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE AND IS SOLELY MY OPINION. I HOPE IT HELPS SOMEONE
