Called for estimate on oil change and tire rotation. I stated it used synthetic oil. Gabe said oil change with taxes would be about $88. He never answered about tire rotation. (A competitor said less than $30 for their rotation.) Gabe said there is a free car wash also. So dropped my car off. Courtesy ride to/from. When I paid Kerry stated the rotation was no charge. I asked again to be sure I heard right. He said he sometimes doesn t charge. I pointed out the car was NOT washed. So I waited while this was done. I declined the a/c cabin filter replacement due to cost - but they failed to properly reinstall the glove box back in when putting the cabin filter back in. Kerry kept trying to slam it shut but I pointed out it was fine before they took it apart. So again waited for that - which YouTube shows how simple it was. Well my about $88 oil change was $120! Seems that free rotation and free car wash cost me $32.I did get my AAA discount which lowered the $120 by $11. So the $32 becomes $29. Gee 1st impressions cost me!

I have been using this shop for years to maintain my European vehicles. Not many shops work on them considering their complexity, but they never hesitate to tackle a big job on my audi. I love driving this car and they always make sure its ready to handle anything i throw at it. To put their speed into perspective, they intalled a thermostat, water pump, timing belt cover and gasket, and a new PCV.. in 2 days. These guys dont play around. Honest, fast work done the right way. You can trust these guys.

Great service and very thorough. More thorough than what I initially thought. Just couldn t help myself to spend 3k on my beater daily driver vehicle. But, nonetheless, I appreciate their assistance and efforts.

This place is amazing!! All of the people are super nice!! They fixed my Nissan Armada that was having electrical / alternator issues. Their sweet shuttle driver picked me up from work and took me to pick up my car. They had cleaned her inside and out! She looked and ran like brand new!! AC vent replacement repairs on my 1995 vintage Corvette as well as standard maintenance and oil change. They had to remove the dashboard to make a repair to the veneration system. I will definitely be back. The ease of scheduling an appointment that worked with our family schedule was amazing. They fixed the issue. My husband also had been feeling my car was rough on turns. They called and said that they found the issue that was causing that (something I had not even brought up) and were able to fix it also. Great service. Great experience. I will be back.

I brought my Corolla in to replace a metal piece between the tire and the car's rail. The customer service here was great! I appreciate the honesty in this shop. They received the piece for my vehicle and I was informed that it was bent so they send it back and order a new piece which cause the delay of my vehicle being returned to me, which I completely understand. I also appreciate they offer loaner vehicles and shuttle rides. Jim was my shuttle driver and I did appreciate his company, such a great man! Gabe was the one that kept me updated about my vehicle which I appreciate it! He did a great job. Highly recommended this place. I have already referred 2 of my family members to this shop.

Had my 2016 F150 Ecoboost serviced there. Kerry and Ricky did a great job diagnosing a problem I was had been experiencing for a few months. It runs like a champ now and my gas mileage has improved. I would definitely take my truck there again.

I brought my Ford Fusion since it was jerking and not driving properly. I spoke with Kerry multiple times regarding this issue and ultimately he gave me the DX and cost estimate. I asked him specifically to fix the issue regarding the jerking of my car and he ensured that it was fixed. Upon picking up my vehicle I drove it around and a honking noise with a burning smell started from my car. I had to stop and restart my vehicle, just so I could make it home. I wasn t even able to drive my car for a day before the problem began again and the problem actually became worse with the burning smells. I called to speak with Kerry regarding the issue but he stated they fixed the issue and that he cannot predict the future of what will happen afterwards and that he never gave me a DX. Kerry is dishonest and Space Automotive shop takes advantage of people. My car was in that shop for over a month and nothing was fixed, I didn t even receive the complimentary car wash that comes with every car service. I advise to go to another shop and overlook this one!

i drive a 15 year old car and with the horror stories i've heard about parts and chips for newer cars being unavailable for months or more, i decided i needed to class up in my mechanic from the far less prestigious carwash i usually get cheaper work from, because i want to make this baby go to 300k or more.i do have a history with these guys from 15 years ago when i had brought in a newly purchased, pre-owned 2004 pt cruiser twice in 3 weeks. one of the workers told me they can do the work, but that my pre-owned car was still under warranty. i was young and stupid then and had never thought about the warranty, and i have NEVER forgotten the feeling of that kind of honesty from a business in a trade that has a pretty bad reputation for it.15 years and 5 cars go by, and i'm finally in a place where i can afford good work, so i made my big comeback, this time with a 2007 pt cruiser (HEY. they're good cars, ok??).the two employees i had the pleasure of communicating with are david and nancy. they were more than friendly and extremely patient with me. and to the people who got my car, aka "the tub" back on the road, i am so grateful for how quickly the work was done and for making it run smoother than it has in the 4 years i've owned it.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Oil change

This team has given me great service for almost a decade now. I feel confident trusting them with my vehicle and recommending them to others. Their shuttle service and early drop off services help immensely to ease the sting of losing your car for a few hours for maintenance. And they vacuum and wash your car every visit which is almost worth it on its own.

Car sometimes will not start when I turn the key 95% yes, it will start but that s only the beginning it could get worse, so take care of it early which I m glad I did, I need a new starter! .. my has car has 108,000 miles , The last 11,000 Miles hundred % city driving only because I m retired .Services: Electrical repair, Oil changeServices: Electrical repair, Oil change

I hardly ever take my car to shops i haven t been to before because of experience or even leave a review, but i took it in for tires and alignment and Space Center Automotive went above and beyond with my car. Great environment, people were great very friendly and honest. My car was done at great timing as well.

I get my yearly inspection for my Toyota Tacoma here. Quick service. I also recently had them install a Cat shield to protect my catalytic converter from potential thieves. It was a very fair price, much cheaper than the dealer wanted for the same shield. I was in and out in under an hour. Very friendly, helpful, and informative staff. The only minor negative thing I have to complain about is the waiting area. It would be nice to have something other than Fox News on. Would rather see the local news or something that isn t the news on instead.

Such deceptive business practices!!!Just a few days ago I called asking about service for my truck and spoke to a lady by the name of Christy. She was informative and so i decided to stop in and see what they could do for my ride. Before I went to the service center I read their reviews to find they had some nice solid reviews. I mean don't we all depend on good word of mouth? I stop in and speak with Christy and find that her name is Christy Lawrence. I recognized this name and stepped out to again read the reviews. Low and behold I found a 5 star review written by her as if she is a customer! WOW! I immediately left this place in my mirror. Any business that sets up their own deceptive reviews must have issues. Makes a person wonder how many of these great reviews are in fact truly customer reviews. Had no trouble marking this place off my map!I found a photo on Google with this service writer. Beware

Overcharged, wouldn't give an itemized copy, and less than 100 miles later it was back in a shop fixing a problem we were led to believe was fixed. Absolute rubbish. $3300 for glow plugs and a heater hose, then a cracked hose less than a hundred miles later? Absolute insanity. They should be paying for the repairs that we are paying for now.

My wife took her car in to have some work done on it. While doing it they checked out the front brake pads and said they should be changed.They said the pads were low and maybe 1000 miles left on it. She opted to wait due to price.I checked the pad thickness and they were about 9mm thick. New pads are about 12mm thick. At 6mm to 4mm one would want to start considering getting them replaced.Are they deceptive? Trying to take advantage of a women? Or is the mechanic just that bad? Or just something else?

We have been using Space Center Automotive since 2007ish. They have always been the most expensive place to go, but you were in a clean facility, the people seemed reputable, they always stayed in contact, and estimates were fast and accurate. This time it was still very expensive, but we had a very hard time getting anyone to contact us or get on the phone for any information. It also FELT like they were trying to scam us, obviously we can't prove that, it's a feeling..... you should always go with your gut. We don't know if they are still owned by the same people, it does not feel like it, it just feels different and I doubt we will return. We really hate that, because they were our go to automotive facility.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Horrible!They charged me $100 to push my car in from their parking lot. and tell me exactly what I told them what was wrong with it. Then they quoted me 2x what it took to get fixed somewhere else.These guys are lazy and i guess have too many engineers in the area who dont need to price check an auto repair.Find an honest small shop if you dont want to get swindled by a nice waiting room.Response to owner - you may be voted #1 by some biased metric, but a google search will return a number of 4.9 star and 5.0 star rated shops. The fact that your repair quote was 2x my repair cost is unacceptable. But then again, you are located in a wealthy region so perhaps it is a smart idea for a business owner to inflate repair costs. It is also a good idea for individuals to find a straightforward repair operation.If you are serious about improving, you should probably hire a consultant to whip you staff back into honest shape.

The spring on my gas door broke preventing the door to close and leaving my gas cap exposed to the world. Kerry ordered the part and called as soon as it came in. I dropped the car off by about 9 AM, and Jim drove me home since we had no idea how long it might take.About an hour and a half later, Kerry called and said that the old spring was removed after removing the gas door. Then the spring along with a new attachment was put on the door sealing it tightly to provide me with ease of mind. No sugar in the gas tank!The job was done expeditiously and professionally and correctly. I am one happy customer knowing that I can always count on the crew of Space Center Automotive to make sure that everything on and in my car is working properly.Services: Battery, Oil change

My wife goes in 3/1/23 for a inspection, she is told she failed because her headlights had turned yellow and it would be $150 dollars to fix. My wife not being gullible paid for the failed inspection went around the corner and with a bottle of water and baby wipe, cleaned the pollen from the oak tree in our yard off the headlights, now nice and shiny and 30 minutes later went back and passed. Very disappointed with the deception the techs. tried on her. If this is the way Space Center Automotive does business I would look elsewhere.

20+ year customer, work always done right the first time. Todd, Kerri and Chris are the most knowledgeable about auto repair in town! Parts, labor and free rides compliment the car wash perfectly! I'm proud to be a loyal customer of Space Center Tire and Auto!

Overview: I took my 2005 Toyota for an inspection after receiving it back from the collision center after a fender bender. Spent most of the month waiting on the at fault party insurance to cover. Anyhow, it was the last day before my sticker expired. I chose Space Center Automotive for close proximity to work and convenience.The Good: The staff is very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The facilities are very clean and they offer a shuttle service.The Bad: Upon completing my inspection I failed due to a light bulb being out on my license plate and a power steering leak. I completely understand, it doesn't work it doesn't work. The issue I take is with the power steering leak. They advise they can look at it for a fee. This just felt like a cash grab to me. It was more than clear the cap had came loose and some fluid spilled over the side. I took my vehicle to my mechanic on my way home and it was confirmed there was no leak (they replaced the light bulb for cost) and Toyota had certified all components of the car were in proper working order per their inspection process. This was confirmed later no leak existed and the cap had been dislodged upon impact of the vehicle..I just feel like I was being fished for more cash to diagnose a non-existent problem that would have left me out the cost of inspection plus a diagnostic fee.I would want to give them another shot should another need arise but first impressions are just important and I don't like throwing money at non-existent problems so I don't believe I will be back.

This auto repair group has saved me multiple times. Replacing batteries quickly when I need my car now and get surprised with a dead battery. Maintaining my 16 year old Toyota, keeping it dependable and now maintaining my RV. Free rides home and back when my car is in the shop. Best of all this group is honest, friendly and I trust that they are only doing the necessary work on my vehicles.

I have trusted my car with Space Center Automotive for over a decade. They treat me right, are honest, compassionate with larger fixes, and as a result, am still happy with over 200K original miles and counting! I work at NASA and they have an excellent relationship for site access so I can leave my car at the shop and get a ride to my building and picked up when my car is ready. As always met with a professional, yet friendly, manner. The inspection of my car was completed in a very timely manner and the cost was very reasonable. I am retired and live in Texas City but I still drive up to Clear Lake to have my care serviced by Space Center Automotive because I know that I will always be treated courteously, honestly and fairly - always!

I am a very regular customer of your business especially for oil changes. I have probably had 5 vehicles serviced over the last 20 years. I am down to only one vehicle these days but I still come to Space Center for everything other than trans fluid changes.I was surprised this last Tuesday that you are now charging 25$ for a tire rotation and I cannot recall ever having to pay extra if I was getting a premium oil change. This certainly was not the case with my July 2021 and January 2022 oil changes and tire rotations. Perhaps this was noted on the authorization I signed Tuesday morning but it was not pointed out and again I had not been charged for a tire rotation in the past. I am passing this on as I am a little disappointed that this will now be the situation.I am also not a fan of your new system where the first person I talk to cannot make a reservation and I am passed to a second or third ticket writer when I would expect that anyone could tell me the status of my car servicing. I mentioned this to Kerry and he explained that the maintenance department had to coordinate service type work; I suppose this makes sense at your end but it would seem like everything Space Center does is service work. My input for your consideration.Thank you, Mark Christ
