We told them what we wanted to do and they gave us an estimate within 24 hours. We then made an appointment to have our towing equipment installed on the Jeep and it was completed that day. Layton walked us through how to connect everything, answered our questions, and was very helpful.

These guys are not dummies! We had new shocks, sway bars and rock guard flap across the back installed on our motor home. From quote to pick up the process was straightforward and easy. The work they did exceeded our expectations! We not only recommend the upgrade but Smitty s is the place to get it done!

Just got off the phone with these guys asking about future projects regarding welding for extended receiver hitches and other odds and ends RV repairs. I just wanted to say that they are VERY helpful, friendly, knowledgable and in no hurry to get you off the phone till all of your questions are asked. In this day and age of rush rush rush with some companies on the phone this was really nice to talk to a repair facility that isn't afraid to talk about the possible project at hand. Thanks guys! You have earned my future business.

Our 28' class A RV had stabilizers for steering and frame control systems added. Also a Ready Brake tow bar system for down 4 towing. The mechanics were efficient and professional. I would definitely recommend!

Great shop. Great staff. Complete Roadmaster install on TOAD and Motorhome. M&G Brake system and Roadmaster battery disconnect. Nighthawk tow bar. Baseplate and wiring. Full day for the install (appointment recommended). When they were done they made sure I knew how it all worked. As a new RV owner this made it worth the 5 stars. Everything looks clean and was tested before turning it over to me. Most importantly they made sure to let me know to give them a call if I had any problems. You can tell they take pride both before and after. Don't think I am going to need them - but nice to know they are there if I do.

Smitty's installed a towing package on our Jeep Grand Cherokee in December 2022. In April, while on a road trip we discovered that the towing package wiring harness had come loose inside the engine compartment, the sheathing had melted and the wires had shorted against the engine causing the Jeep battery to discharge and prevented it from recharging. After having a Jeep dealer evaluate the issue in Kerrville, Texas the Jeep dealer consulted with Smitty's, and using photos and discussion, Smitty's expressed no concern with the wiring, although a portion of the sheathing had melted. As a precaution, we took the Jeep to an RV dealer in Kerrville that we had used before, and which installs towing packages. They determined that it would have been better to route the wiring outside the engine compartment to prevent the sheathing from melting again thus damaging the towing package wiring. While we contacted Smitty's again concerning this problem, after nearly two weeks, they have not yet responded. We recommend a careful examination of how the wiring is routed when a towing package is installed.

Recently we purchased a used motorhome and were disappointed in the way it handled on the highway. After the staff at Smitty's installed Sumo springs, Koni shocks and the Safety Plus steering stabilizer it drives like a dream. They did the work while we waited and were very courteous. True professionals providing excellent service at a fair price.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I've had the pleasure of making three visits to Smitty's RV & Welding, a couple for towed vehicle baseplate and wiring installations on a Jeep Wrangler and a final one for several modifications to the Ford F53 chassis of my Class A motorhome - following a very helpful consultation with Garrett. All work was completed on time, diligently and at reasonable cost. I would have no hesitation in recommending Smitty's for all similar work.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Amazing technicians and superior service! As a new RV diesel owner, I needed an entire tow package for my Frontier, including custom drive shaft disconnect, air brake system, light system, tow bars, base plate, etc. The process of measuring, waiting for custom welding and installing was longer than I expected (no fault of anyone, just a long process to make it safe and accurate). Once installed, directions to use were clear and techs very patient with me as I learned. Jakob discovered my older rig needed suspension air bags while he was installing the air brakes. They ordered parts and were able to work me into an extremely busy schedule so I could move along to California. I am SO grateful they were concerned for my safety that they pointed out and installed all the systems with care and professionalism. Thank you all!

They know what they re doing there. And they stand behind their install. Had them install a baseplate on Ford Edge, tow bar, and Demco stay n play supplemental braking. Had to bring back in for an adjustment and they knocked it out with great service. I know you can price the stuff up online but you get what you pay for - in this case - someone who knows what they re doing in properly installing everything. Recommend them.

Had a base plate and braking system put into our Ford Edge, fantastic job by the crew, also a tow bar replaced on the motorhome, awesome job on that also. Also had some good ideas on where to eat close by. Highly recommend Smitty's.

We scheduled an appointment on a day that I would be able to leave our vehicle and RV all day and be able to pick it up that same evening. Garrett was not there and had not informed his shop of the promises that he had made. After a phone call and much wasted time, they told us that they would have it done by the end of the day. Fast forward to late that afternoon when we went to pick up our vehicle. We received a very rushed overview of the work they had done, they had us hitch to the RV to ensure that tow bar was at the right height and sent us in to pay. We did a once-over of the vehicle and RV to ensure everything was good and realized that when the brakes in the RV were activated, the yellow turn signals in our toad would come on, rather than the red brake lights. As luck would have it, everyone from the shop had left while we were inside paying, so we went back in and spoke to the woman in the office (Chrissy), who came outside to confirm what we were telling her. Chrissy was able to get us on the schedule for a day when their good wiring tech would be in. We were scheduled to leave on a weeklong vacation to Florida (with vehicle in tow) but had no choice but to leave it behind, as our appointment was for after our return and we didn t have the ability to get it back to them before our trip. A weeklong trip with an RV and no toad that we had just spent thousands of dollars to set-up was inconvenient and annoying. After our trip, we took the vehicle back to have the aforementioned issue fixed, as well as some other concerns, such as 1) the brake actuator wiring was mounted behind the clutch and was being crushed every time that the clutch was depressed, 2) the breakaway switch was mounted too far out in front of the car where it was certain to be broken off, 3) we didn t receive the factory-included receiver caps for the baseplate, and 4) the wiring harness was a clunky metal unit that stuck out like a sore thumb on the front of our vehicle, making it look like it had been wired with leftover parts (which I know is not true, that s just how it looked). Garrett told me that he thought he had gone over everything with the technician the day before, but I must have done that in my head. He went on to say The office is not running at full strength right now. Chrissy is out sick with an <redacted>, leaving me still trying to recover from a respiratory infection to do everything. Keith is helping me out with emails but is pretty much retired. I know this has no bearing on the work and does not reflect very well on us as a whole. I apologize. He was correct that if did not reflect well on them, but I was appalled that he committed a HIPAA violation by telling me in an email exactly why Chrissy was out of the office. It was absolutely none of my business and it wasn t his information to share. He better hope that she does not take action as a result of that disclosure. I asked Garrett for a credit for all the inconvenience and hassle, loss of use of the toad and an extra full day at his shop for the repairs. Rather than make an offer, he asked me for what I was wanting. I gave him a range, and after a few days, he replied with I'm sorry that things have not gone as stellar as they usually go here. That aside I was willing to entertain the idea of a reasonable amount on a refund for customer relations but that is way more than reasonable. The repairs/rework have been fulfilled to your satisfaction under our warranty. From our perspective, he did the bare minimum by simply honoring the warranty that he was legally obligated to honor. Smitty s caused a good deal of inconvenience to us, as well as potentially put the safety of my family and others on the road around us at risk by improperly wiring our brake light system. Luckily, we caught the problem before we got on the road. I encourage you to be diligent when selecting a company to work on your vehicle, and if you choose this one, please take the time to ensure that everything was done safely!

I recently had a baseplate installed on a new Jeep Wrangler, as well as wiring for the lights. The Smitty's technicians really know what they're doing, and everyone is also very friendly. I highly recommend them.
