I had just moved to Houston from Minnesota and did not know a good mechanic. I got my oil changed at Midas who coughed up over $1,000 in additional charges that they said I needed taken care of. I didn't have the money and I had a bad feeling about it. So I left. On recommendations from people on the Nextdoor app, several people recommended Sal's.Sal answers the phone 90% of the time and he has a big operation. I brought the bill from Midas and he checked everything and came back to tell me all the things they had noted were fine and did not need to be fixed!! He said dealerships now are giving people estimates of 5 to 10,000 for repairs and they come to his shop and nothing needs to be fixed!My bill was a couple hundred dollars because I did have something in my emissions that needed to be fixed so I could pass the admission test to get my license in TX.I will always be loyal to him!His shop is nestled behind the gas station on the corner of Chimney Rock and Westheimer. You need to drive behind the gas station. It's not the shop on the left hand side.It is first come first serve so you cannot make an appointment but I've never had an issue with same day service with him. A bonus is they are open on Saturdays!

We own 4 vehicles, some older, some newer (2023 Sierra, Yukon, 2002 suburban, 2019 Toyota 4Runner) Sal does all the service, all the repairs. He is honest to a fault, won t take your money on something if it s not worth fixing (I ve tried and he won t). That s hard to come by these days. They do incredible work, timely. I ve NEVER had an issue with a single repair. Rear ends, shocks, fuel tank swaps, diagnostic work, etc. All been flawless. Id recommend Sals to anyone looking for a new trustworthy mechanic. Our battery died and the person that gave us a jump suggested Sal's. Even though it was closing time he said they would help us out. I am so grateful for Sal and his team! They were friendly and got us running again very quickly.

Today was my first time bringing my car to Sal. A client referred me and being a woman was lies to at the dealership trying to sell me I knew I didn t need.Sal confirmed my thoughts and was so honest he told me to come back in 2,000 miles to get an oil change because he said I wasn t due.and didn t need it.The dealership told me I needed it every 6 months and I am a very low mileage driver. He told me synthetic oil doesn t break down like the other oil. I value his honesty and questioned what I really needed. He checked out my entire car and said it was in perfect condition in spite of the age of the car because it was such low mileage.I will definitely be back because I can trust he will tell me the truth.

Extremely honest, upfront, and does not hide anything. Sal's Auto Repair is one of the best, if not the best mechanic in town! He has been my personal mechanic for 10-15 years. His only goal is to make sure the cars he and his team work on are done correctly and are safe to drive.

Sal s is professional, reasonably priced, fast, and dependable. They stand behind their work and use only quality parts backed by excellent warranties. They proactively and patiently explain what the problem is with your vehicle. The staff is friendly and courteously.

Mr.Sal and his Team of Mechanics are the Best in Houston. It would be Worth your While to visit them if you live in the Houston Area.

Sal, no words can thank you enough for what you offer for your clients. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn t bring their car to you. I never felt pressured into unnecessary repairs. In my experience, no one beats you in your honesty, pricing, quality, service, integrity ..I wholeheartedly recommend you for anyone seeking auto repairs.

I would highly recommend sal's to anyone looking for a good, local all-around mechanic. I've taken a couple of vehicles there, and will be going back. I even referred my daughter there. He's a straight-shooter, carries quality parts, and very competitive rates for service.

They give a fair price and help me with little things like changing out light bulbs or wipers at no cost (they just say the price is to come back!). They are honest about the work that needs to be done and what can wait.

I went to Sal's Westheimer Auto Service because a friend highly recommended them to me. I was looking to repair my horn and inquire about their tire prices. I thought the horn was going to be an easy fix, simply replacing its fuse. I never thought that the horn itself would be the problem. As for the tires, I researched what tires were costing these days for my particular vehicle. So, when I went to Sal s, I was not surprised by the cost of the tires I chose because they were in line with those I had found in my research. Lastly, they asked me if I had noticed that the frigid air had diminished from my A/C and I said yes, but thought it was only needing more freon. So, the mechanic asked if they could explore that issue further, which I granted. They discovered that the A/C compressor was leaking, which they provided a picture of to me, and I told them to replace that as well. The staff along with the owner Sal, treated me with respect and kindness all the way through the process of fixing my vehicle. I was kept well informed during the entire process as they discovered and asked permission to resolve the various issues that they discovered. My vehicle is 8-1/2 years old, and this is the first time I had any serious repairs done on it outside of regular oil changes. I am incredibly happy to have found a new place that will take care of all of my vehicle needs. I put my total trust in their ability to diagnose and fix any problem that may arise in the future.

The experience could have been more attentive to the customer. The reason being : the service person in the office (or serv.mgr?) was Really Adamant about giving an estimate for the repairs that was requested. It was just an estimate, nothing "Set in Stone" and still really Adamant about it. There was sufficient time before the garage closed also. This is the reason for this rating. This service person had to ask for addtl opinions from the more experienced mechanics there to validate what he was not sure of. Indication of low self assurance. It could have been a Better experience; however this was my opinion on the interaction with this company.

I had to go in for a motorcycle inspection and the workers were constantly moving around (which is a very good) working on someone's vehicle. Very nice and honest people. While I waited inside, as other clients entered or left, they would compliment how well the mechanics were and that the prices were the best and not a scam.

I went to Sal for a second opinion after my previous mechanic quoted me over $2000 for unexpected repairs during a routine oil change. Sal and his technician inspected my car and found no issues with anything the previous mechanic identified. Sal is honest and fair. Came in on a Monday morning and was immediately greeted by the friendliest man named Steven! He got all my info quickly and got me setup for my state inspection to be done. His service really made my day! The service was also great and speedy and I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Sal and the rest of the staff are also really nice and helpful-reminds me of a small town friendly auto shop in the heart of huge Houston. Visit Sals for all your car needs!! They really care about their customers-which is apparent right when you walk in the door.

Took my 2000 Prelude to them for a valve adjustment. After they started they found more issues and went above and beyond to get it right. Can't even hear the motor running anymore! Great job and great service! I walked in today for inspection twice. I can catch vibe of ppl's attitude- whether good of bad if the ppl who work there are in a good mood or not. The first time I walked in, they told me the wait is about an hour or two long There were two gentlemen sitting behind the desk.I thanked them and I then walked back out.I left ten about 30 minutes I returned and told them I'll go ahead and wait.I sat there for about 10 minutes and the guy walked back in and told me the tint is too dark- OK fine. I'll go where I normally go. I just thought I'd try them while I was on this side of town.I feel they hurriedly wanted to tell me they couldn't do it and quickly handed me my keys-laziness and/or tiredness.The second guy with the thick glasses looked up at me like he was crazy and didn't say a solid word.They are RUDE mechanics.

Sal and his whole staff are great. I just moved here and needed some work done on my Volkswagen Engine. Great prices, Great work and Great people. You cant ask for more. I meant to post a review after my last visit about a month ago which should tell you the quality of the work in this shop is great. I will continue to come here for any of my car repairs and maintenance.

I called Sal s Auto Repair about a month ago to get a quote on rear brakes for my Camaro, Sal answered and was able to help me over the phone and and said if I m available now to come on over. I did! Sal was great from the moment I got there, went over pricing and got me out of there in an hour! Sal did a full inspection on my car and mentioned what else needed to be done, whenever I had time. I went back two weeks later to get my front breaks done along with a new radiator and transmission cooler lines that needed to be replaced. Sal showed me under my car what he was going to be working on/ changing out. Sal and Steve, along with the entire staff are GREAT. Sal has great energy and runs his business with passion!
