I was extremely skeptical of their near perfect 5 star reviews, but after experiencing it myself, they were well deserving of it. My car s horn wasn t working, so they diagnosed and gave me fair price to fix it. Later on, I thought there was issue with the brakes, they found that it was still working properly and didn t bother to charge me the cost of checking it. Will come again.

I've been a customer for many years and always extremely happy. Professional, honest and fair prices. Several times I have taken a car in thinking some work might need doing and they have said, no, it really doesn't, save your money, do it next visit. I will not go into any other automotive place without a male accompanying me because I know how the story goes and that I would wind up getting fed scare stories and paying for things I didn't need. I took my 2012 Honda Accord in to Rusty when the water pump failed. Turns out the pump in my car is extremely rare -- he went through 3 suppliers, sent his wife to the dealership, and overnight shipped from Dallas to get the right part -- He didn't even charge me for the additional cost or hassle of getting it. Rusty is by far the most honest mechanic I have ever worked with -- he solves problems as quickly and affordably as possible andHe does it right -- no cutting corners.If you value the trust and accountability of talking with the OWNER every time you walk in or callANDwith excellent communication and professionalism -- choose Rusty. I promise you, he is one of the best in Houston.Even a few days later, I was halfway to Austin and broke down with an unrelated issue with my car. I called him -- he gave me genuine and helpful advice even though he knew he wouldn't get paid on this one. He is always in your corner. Whenever there is any problem with my car, I will think of this place for the first time. Rusty s honesty and reliability make you really feel at ease to hand over your car to him for repair. When I came here for the first time, my The condenser is broken, Rusty is very professional to find out the problem, and gave me a solution that satisfies me, so whenever my car has a problem, I am very happy to come back here, they will treat you as an old friend , All the process is very easy and pleasant. I am very happy that I found the best repair shop in Houston and a mechanic I trust. I believe I will keep this place in my Google map and recommend it to my friends. I don t know why the five-star praise I left last time disappeared, so I will leave a five-star review with pictures and texts this time to make sure it will always be there! ! !Today, my old friend Rusty s and his staff helped me replace the new brake pads and brake fluid. Thanks to their professionalism and serious work attitude, every experience is particularly good! I am very happy to find such a professional repair shop, and I am honored to know such a professional mechanic as Rusty's. Today Rusty's helped me repair the deformed rim for free. I am really grateful for this. He really cares about every customer. He is also very humble and likes to help people. I really suggest that if you have any problems with your car, you can come here. They will never let you down. This will be my permanent repair shop. God bless them. !

I don't leave many reviews but Rusty's Automotive Repair blew me away! My ac was barely working and a friend suggested I might just need more refrigerant and was referred to Rusty's. I spoke with an employee on the phone and they suggested I bring my car in first thing in the morning because they get busy quickly. I dropped my car off at 7:05 am and was told that they were running behind but would get to my car asap. Barely an hour later, I'm about to walk out the door for work when I get a call that my car is ready for pick up! WOW!!! They were extremely friendly and it was so much cheaper than I had feared. I plan to bring my car here from now on. Thank you!!!

We have been going to Rusty's for almost 20 years (when it used to be Cornerstone). Rusty is an honest man. His team are top notch. He has seen us through every vehicle we have owned. He and his team can do almost anything. He'll tell you up front what is required and est. costs before they do the work. With Rusty, don't be shy about telling him what you can afford here and now and what can wait another month - he'll let you know what is critical and what you can put off for a little bit. He's that honest. I refuse to take my vehicles to anyone else. His rates are far less expensive than other places. He's fair about the pricing. The staff is nice and professional. Rusty is a gentleman and a man of his word, but the work they did came undone putting me back at square one with a car repair. But like I say, in my heart I want this place to have five stars. It was a cool and safe experience.Update:Since the original work was done the garage contacted me and corrected the repair that came undone at no charge whereas most any other garage would charge again. They went on to do several more repairs needed so I could sell my old car with a good conscious. Very fair prices. Quick service and incredibly professional.I've finally found the trustworthy shop I've been looking for all my life. Thank you Rusty and staff.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

Thanks Rusty. I received my recommendation to your garage from a sweet gal who said she felt very comfortable bringing her car to you for service. My experience was equal to hers. I was greeted and dealt with professionally and in a timely manner. The work was done well and was reasonably priced. I plan to use your services again should I ever need one of my cars worked on again. It's difficult to find a mechanic you can trust to be honest with you and who charges fair prices. Rusty's is one of those very few shops you can rest assured won't deceive you or compromise your vehicle by performing subpar work or installing cheap parts. The world would be a better place if there were more shops like Rusty's.

After using another mechanic by referral and taking my car to them seven times, in the end they could not reprogram my car correct nor find the real problem so I ended up taking my car to Rusty's. They found the problem right away based on the information I told them, gave me a price,fixed it in the same day. I found them to be reasonable and was pleased with my service.

I am new in the neighborhood and just happened upon Rusty's. The service was really good so I thought I'd leave a nice review... as of this review, there are 80 reviews, all 5 stars. So I won't bother saying anything else other than I've been a handful of times, sometimes for simple inspection, sometimes for repair - always a pleasant experience. They don't work weekends, which is also pretty cool.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Was hesitant to take my clunker there, it seemed too upscale Rusty actually was there to help. As busy as he was, he was friendly and attentive as possible. He inspected the car, gave me an honest and sincere quote, plus good advise. Didn't get any work done, but will bring other cars here to be checked out. He seems to do good'ol honest work and quality repairs.

Good honest folks. Exactly what you want in a mechanic. This is my second visit to Cornerstone. I visited in September because I thought that I needed a brake job, and they kindly told me that I still had a few more months left on them. They looked over the vehicle and didn't come up with any other imaginary work to be done which impressed me. I returned today (almost six months later) pretty sure that it was time for those brakes. They let me know that it was definitely time for the front brakes but that I could wait a little longer on the back brakes if money were an issue. They also looked over the car and let me know that according to Toyota's recommended maintenance program that I was due for a transmission fluid flush, but they were not pushy about any of it. I researched the pricing online, and it all seemed very reasonable. They offered me a ride to work that morning at 8:30 and were done with my vehicle just after noon. I am very pleased to have found a trustworthy mechanic in Houston.

Rusty s was recommended to me three years ago and they haven t disappointed once. They re always reliable and transparent and don t over sell. They once checked my old car for hours, couldn t identify why it hadn t started the day before, so they didn t charge me a dime for their efforts! We re customers for life.

First, let me say Rusty is one of the most honest and honorable mechanics I have never met. We have talked on the phone, but I couldn't tell you what h looks like. I'm from Helotes, Texas and was in Houston visiting friends when the alternator went out in our van and left us stranded at a 7/11 until AAA picked us up and took us back to our hotel. I called my cousin who recommended Rusty's shop, so we had it towed over Sunday afternoon and I left the keys with a note. (Our son drove over and picked us up and brought us back home.) I called Monday morning and he said the alternator was bad, the price he quoted was fair and the repair was complete the same day. We picked it up and everything was working normally. Now skip ahead with me three months and the battery light in the van comes back on. I called Rusty, but of course I new he was hours away from Helotes. He gave me the name of a friend of his that owned a garage in San Antonio so I dropped it off. It was the alternator again and Steve at Cornerstone fixed it. Rusty guarantees his work , so he took care of the bill with Steve and we picked up our van. I just want to say that I'm more of a pessimist when it comes to mechanics, but Rusty and his friend Steve proved to me that honest and honorable mechanics still exist.Service: Electrical repair

I've worked with a lot of shops over the last 45 years. But after my first experience with Rusty I will not go anywhere else. He treats you like family. Only recommends what you need and then delivers with a fair price. Even when it is work they can't do, body work in our case, he recommended a firm that made my wife happy.If you have a problem with your car stop looking around, just go to Rusty's.

Rusty s is great. They always have friendly staff and they try to make your visit as convenient and efficient as possible. They offer good and fair prices, often times cheaper than other shops. My husband and I have been using them for all our services for about a year now and we have no complaints! Would highly recommend them.

I have been a customer for many many years and always recommend them to those in the area. Rusty and crew are knowledge and very respectful. As a teacher on a budget trying to keep my older Jeep going, they help with my general maintenance and work keep me safe.These guys are the best!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful service we received at Cornerstone! They were nothing short of a blessing. It requires a bit of a backstory. I am not from Houston but was in a wedding there this past weekend. I didn't see a curb as I made a turn and it popped both tires. We weren't sure what other damage had been done. We got a tow and the nearest auto shop was Cornerstone. We were due back in Dallas on Monday for work after the wedding Sunday and headed to the shop at 7 am Monday morning. Rusty greeted us with a smile and had already looked at the car and knew our situation. He was so kind and very reassuring and let us know he would get us taken care of first thing so we could get on the road. No less than 3 hours later he gave us a call that the car was ready! He had found a near perfect match for the tires and got them from Discount Tires for us, realigned the car (because that is a must after ramming into a curb!) and the whole thing was shockingly reasonable. Rusty even replaced the battery in my friend's car remote for free! Thank you so much Rusty. These guys are so honest, thorough and kind. Highly recommend.

Great customer service! I needed new spark plugs, an oil change and an inspection. I dropped my car off around 8:30 in the morning and picked it up around 5:30 that evening. No leaving my car overnight, the prices are fair. Thanks to Rusty and his team.

Great repair shop and honest owner. I have taken multiple cars to Rusty's since 2012. It operated under another name (Cornerstone Automotive) and owner until 2019, but Rusty was the primary operator and manager. I've always dreaded even thinking about dealing with car repairs. I heard about Rusty's (previously Cornerstone Automotive) on my neighborhood's NextDoor site. I am so glad I did. I can honestly say my experience with Rusty, and Eric, has been a good one. It's so good to know I have found someone competent, honest, friendly, and professional (what more can I say) to go to when I have issues with my 10 year old auto. Great experience at Cornerstone Automotive. Rusty was very helpful and efficient. It took no more than 20 minutes to be in and out with the inspection and afterward they did not try to sell me on things I did not need. Highly recommend and will be back.
