I took my car to Neil's because of all the great reviews, and I wanted my AC to be fixed correctly by a mechanic that strictly worked on AC's, this was back in 2021, I paid for a new ac and condensor, after getting the car back, the car seemed like it wasn't as cold as it should be, so I took the car back not once but twice complaining of the issue and both times they stated that everything was fine, so I just accepted it and moved on. Now today in 2023, I have my car at a different shop for a new radiator and this mechanic just informed me that the condensor has a small leak! That's probably been the problem this whole time, so now here I am again having to pay for another new condensor.

I live by Austin. After searching everywhere for a solution to my problem with zero results, I got a vague suggestion about a shop in the Houston area. I finally found Neil's. After a short discussion with Tyson, who said solving my issue wouldn't be all that difficult.I have a lot of years of unfulfilled promises and attempted fixes that only made things worse. This isn't one of those. After a 2 1/2 hour drive i arrived at Neil's. Tyson dropped what he was doing and began working on my 1986 Chevy C10. It has the original R12 system so quickly knew what needed to be done. After a quick recharge and evaluation of the entire system I was done. All together about an hour or so. It's so cold now I never turn the fan above #2.Tyson was honest in every way. Made suggestions about things I may need to consider in the future and pointed out things I just overlooked. Nice guy.It cost me more in time and gas than was charged for the repair. I couldn't be happier. I wouldn't suggest anyone going anywhere else. It's a great feeling to find someone honest, friendly and capable.

I didn't get to use their services but I give them 5 stars for the honesty. I had gone to a different shop and I was told the blower motor and the resistor had to be replaced however Neil advise to not waste my money buying unnecessary parts as it was not going to solve my issue, it appears to be one of the blend door not working. Unfortunately that is something he doesn't work on and kindly referred me to another shop

My AC had stopped blowing cold air and I was quite worried after searching I came across Neil s Auto Air Service and trust me* when I say Neil is an exceptional individual he is very professional, knowledgeable and honest. He diagnosed my car throughly and told me* I was low on Freon. I highly recommend going to Neil s because there are very few mechanics who will tell you the truth.

I too had a great experience with Neil s Auto. Of course me being a woman and not knowing anything about cars your scared to take your car to a mechanic. But Neil was honest from jump! Needed a new condenser, dropped it off 9am Monday and Tuesday 9am he was calling me to pick it up! thanks for the great service! I highly recommend if you are having any AC issues with your vehicle! Oh and fair prices as well!

I found this business using Google and decided to give it a try based on all the wonderful reviews I read. I am so happy that I did. I went to the shop at 8:00 AM and I saw Neil there already working! I told him that my A/C suddenly stopped blowing air all together. He asked for the key and went out to the car and banged under the dashboard on the passenger side. The A/C kicked on. He told me that the blower motor on my 2012 Buick LaCrosse was going out and I needed to replace it soon. I asked if he could replace it for me. It's Wednesday and that's Neil's Friday. To my surprise, Neil said he could get it done for me if I leave the car. I did and by 1:00 PM the very same day Neil called me to come pick it up. The A/C is working great! Highly recommend you trust Neil with your car's A/C.Service: A/C installation & repair

Neil and team are absolutely amazing! As a single lady I always dread going to any and all auto mechanic related establishments. I am not very auto savvy and have been taken advantage of.I brought my car to Neil and he quickly took a look and examined my car. He was very knowledgeable, and helpful. Definitely take your car here if you want the best A/C service!Service: Air conditioning

So far so good. Very upfront and honest. Tyson is very helpful and knowledgeable. I haven't gotten my repairs done yet but will surely update when I do. He gave me a really good estimate considering what needs to be done. Hopefully we can work it out!And to those of you who Neal has helped out and you refuse to pay, you screw it up for the honest ones that will actually pay especially when given an honest price. Shame on you people!

2 different general repair shops told me they couldn t figure out what was wrong with my AC before I went to Niel s. He was super busy with 10+ cars already waiting in his lot, and he still managed to identify and fix the problem within 24 hours. On top of that, for the first time in my life I was surprised by how inexpensive the repair was. Would definitely recommend.Oh, and to the person complaining about being charged for Freon and dye to identify a leak - that s pretty standard operating procedure.

I was very happy with the service. Neil's was recommended by my sister. I went in last week hoping all I needed was freon. Mr Neil did a few diagnostics as I waited about 15 minutes and determined that my problem was neither freon or the compressor. I brought the car back on a less hectic day and he fixed the venting aparatus in the dash that was causing the problem. Reasonable repair time and reasonable price. Very fair and honest.

Toyota Dealership charged $165 to evaluate the air conditioner, saying a part needed replacement for $1400, then sent me a letter offering me $500 for the car. It has very low mileage, is paid for, and last time the dealer workmanship at $2150 was a disgrace on my other vehicle.Tyson at Neil's immediately looked at it, found the pressure of the freon was way over correct amount recommended, fixing it while I waited for $60.It blows nice and cold. Glad I didn't trust anything the dealership said, and found Neil's before freon pressure ruined A/C.

I needed a new blower, and was having a hard time getting the car to someone because it was going on and off, and they wouldn't check it because it would be running. So, I found Neil's online and he had me to bring it in, he diagnosed it and in less than 24 hour's, my heater was working great. And both guys in the shop were very friendly, and the price was pretty good compared to others I checked.

Neil and his crew are awesome. They're the only ones we trust for our car AC repairs. We even drive across the city, in Houston traffic to get to them. We have recommended them to our friends and they have been equally satisfied with the excellent service and price they received. Don't even call anyone else on the list, I assure you, you will not find anyone more honest and pleasant to work with!

Took my Nissan truck to Neil's after taking it to another shop that told me I needed to spend $300 to "find the leak". Tyson at Neil's took a look and found no leak but another problem which turns out to be an easy fix. He charged my system and did it for a very reasonable price. Told me how to fix the issue myself and now I'm driving with a very cold AC. I would recommend Neil's to anyone looking for good honest, trustworthy service.

My wife took her Ford Edge to Autonation Ford Katy for A/C repair, after over two weeks and $1700 they did not fix the A/C. Autonation was asking us for an additional $3,100 to replace more parts. They were wanting to replace every part in the A/C system. I picked the car up from Autonation and took it to Neil's they correctly diagnosed and repaired the A/C in 48 hours and it cost $600 to replace the condenser. A/C works great now, only wish I would have taken it to Neil at the start and saved myself $1700 and two weeks of hassle.Service: A/C installation & repair

The AC went out in my car, so I took it to the Mazda dealership to be serviced. Mazda said my AC condenser had a small hole (probably punctured by a flying rock) and that all the coolant had leaked out. They insisted the part could not be repaired and that it would have to be completely replaced, and they quoted me $2,100 for parts and labor. Well, I'm very frugal, so I absolutely refused to pay that much. I Googled "Auto AC repair" and came across Neil's, which had good reviews, so I decided to try them out. I was skeptical when I arrived, but the gentleman (I can't remember his name) seemed very knowledgeable and professional, which eased my mind. He examined the condenser and said it was salvageable...a little bit of solder would patch the hole. It was noon at this point, and he told me the repairs would be done by the end of the day. At 2:00pm, he called me and said my car was ready for pickup. I was impressed with the quick turnaround time. They had patched the hole in the condenser and refilled the coolant for only $265. Mazda was going to charge me $2,100 and Neil's got it done for a fraction of the price. That's 12% of what Mazda would have charged, lol! I was beyond pleased with the work they did, but I decided to wait a while before posting a review because I wanted to be sure the repair lasted and that it wouldn't start leaking again. Well, almost a year later, my AC is still blowing as cold as ever. I can't say enough good things about Neil's. I've had so many negative experiences with other local "mechanic" shops, but these guys are the real deal. Neil's was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They got the work done in two hours and it only cost me $265, which is so much more affordable than what Mazda was going to charge. I hope you never have AC problems during the hellish Houston summers, but if you do...I definitely recommend going to Neil's. 5 stars!

I'm from Fort Worth and was in town for my son's surgery. My AC quit blowing cold air on my way to Houston. I called Neil at about 10:00 and told him what was happening with my 2006 Dodge Ram. He told me what he thought might be wrong with it, quoted me a price over the phone, and told me to bring it in at 1:30. As soon as I arrived he started working on it and was able to have me in and out within an hour. Oh, and the price he quoted me was the price I paid. Excellent friendly service from an honest man. Thanks Neil!!! Would recommend to anyone.

Neil was able to diagnose low freon, refill with dye to detect leaks, and get the AC back to normal within 10mins with time to get back to lunch.

I decided to give Neil's auto a shot as they had good reviews on Yelp. I was visiting my family in Houston and wanted to get my car's AC fixed. On the phone, I was told that I would be charged $45 for an inspection to determine what the problem with my AC is and this would let me know how much it would cost to fix my AC. Once I arrived, a guy working there inspected my car and told me that it seemed okay. I told him that my AC had stopped working previously and I was told that there was a leak in my AC. The person told me that in order to determine what the problem was, I would need to get my AC filled with a freon with a special dye that would help point out where the leak was. He asked me to shell out $60 for adding freon+dye to my AC. The guy immediately took me inside my cabin and made me pay $60 even before he had done anything to my car. He then spent one minute topping up freon+dye to my AC. He then proceeded to chat with me about trivial matters while my car's AC was on. After chatting with me about nonsense, he told me that he would not be able to determine the source of the problem with my AC until the AC started blowing warm air. He said that I would have to wait until this happened. He told me that there was no way to predict when this would happen. So, basically I was duped and cheated into paying $60 with the promise that the source of the AC leak would be identified. The source of the leak was not identified. When I explained that I was leaving town the next morning, I was told that I should stop by the next time that I am in Houston to identify the source of the problem. Beware!! These people are ripoffs. They will take your money and not provide you the services that they promise. Please do not be fooled by the good reviews on yelp. Do not make the mistake that I made.

Neil was fast, fair, and honest. I would recommend him and his shop to anyone with AC problems in their car. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. After a quick system evaluation and a little freon, I was back on the road with COLD AC. I could not be happier.Service: Air conditioningService: Air conditioning

Tyson worked on my car. He was cheaper than all the other places by ~300 dollars! Did a great job and my AC is working well! Needed a new compressor and drier and he was able to get everything done! Brought the vehicle in the morning and had me out of there in 4.5 hours! Make sure to give this place a try!

Today I went to Neil's and am very pleased with AC diagnostics done on my Honda Civic LX model. They were so very nice and there is no single cent received as diagnostics fee. Excellent and professional service was given today. I will be returning for any AC repairs! Very satisfied. Highly recommend.

My AC stopped blowing cold air out of no where. I took it to the dealership who charged me $50 to run a diagnostic test to find the problem. The problem they tried to tell me didn't even make sense and then estimated the repairs to be ~$500. Found Neil's online and wanted to give the place a shot. He took care of me right away and found out what was wrong with my AC in a few minutes. He even explains to you what is going on and how he is going to fix the problem. After driving around in Houston heat without AC for 6 months, Neil's repaired my AC for $70 total. Very honest and fair place that I would recommend to anyone.

In less than 24 hours, my problem was diagnosed, fixed, and I had my car back! And to top things off, the cost was about 1/3 of what I had expected! Honest, quick, competent, nice folks! I highly recommend Neil s! Two thumbs up!!

I was actually a little worried that all of these fantastic reviews might be fake... there are just so many of them. But, they're all true. I got a quote from a Midas and another local mechanic who both said I needed to replace my whole AC unit at $1,800. Neil charged me $60 to run a diagnostic and add some refrigerant. Two weeks later and the AC is still running icy cold. His honesty is so refreshing.

I was told by people at other places in Houston that it would cost me a lot of money to get my AC blower moter fixed. Today Neil and Tyson fixed it for a very good price. I walked out very happy. These two gentleman were very helpful and I definitely plan on recommending this place to my friends. Very highly recommended.

These guys are very professional and honest about the work they do. They diagnosed my VW compressor as the culprit for no AC for free. They let me take the car back to my home for me to rebuild my compressor. I took it back after the rebuild and they changed one leaky o-ring for free , and charged up the system for a great price and very quick time. I recommend hands down.
