Awww Hackaday has retired and so it goes A reliable, honest resource for auto repair has closed shop! In its place has appeared a snazzy new oil change shop which I did try, since I was seeking that service. They were good, but let s see if they can withstand North Houston

Sign on building says $18.99 for an Oil Change... Man was yelling and IMO being belligerent, hostile, aggressive and rude yelling for your car, it's $30... I asked why and he became even more belligerent...I said ok and as I was leaving I tried to ask another man and he yelled what do you want...I left...If you're that angry with a question, I know you are not going to do right by me and my car...I'm not going to recommend them...

I pulled up to HackADay on my lunch break to have my breaks looked at Mr. Hackday could tell from the sound of my car that I needed a new rotor. He told me he could fix it all and that I wouldn t need to catch a lyft back to work because that s what I was suggesting because I was on a thirty minute lunch he said if I would just wait a minute he d have it fixed and send me on my way so I waited and sure enough he did just what he said he would do he was fast, efficient and knowledgeable and I appreciated the quick service. I will definitely be going back whenever I have issues with my car. My car is not longer making a bunch of noise and is running smoothly.Service: Brakes

I pulled in and the office was full of customers so I thought the wait would be too long for me to get my oil changed during my lunch hour. One of the mechanics stopped me as I was getting ready to pull back out and guaranteed it would be done and he was right! They are so fast, courteous, and fair priced. I very much recommend!

I came in with my Chrysler Pacfica. I needed front end work. Lower control arms and inner tire rods on front He did the job fast and efficiently. What I liked is he showed me just how worn the parts were. He s honest in his work and prices are reasonable. While I was there, I went on ahead and did an oil change as well. Thanks Hack. Yooooz the man!!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I have been a loyal customer for 20 yrs+. Pete can fix just about everything. And if he can't....he knows who can. Fair price. Great service. Quick oil changes. And I have never had to take my vehicle back for the same issue.

I have been getting my cars serviced by Hackaday since 1996. My current automobile is a 2003 Toyota Camry with over 270,000 miles, and Hackaday Automotive keeps it running in great condition. Prices are good, and he never hesitates to explain the service thoroughly.

I have taken my car to Hackaday Auto for more than 20+ years. He has ALWAYS been honest and great fair prices. He does not try to get rich. he just want to make a honest living doing what he loves. You will not find a better mechanic than Peter Hackaday. Thank you Mr. Hackaday for always being their and making my car problems easier and affordable.

I went to shell auto mechic shop. He told me my co2 exhaust cencors were bad. So i got a second quote. I went to hack a day auto shop Nothing wrong with the suv altho my break lights were stuck on so he did something under the drivers side dash board. Fixed my light problem in 20 minutes, told me to drive it around and come back in 2 days, if check engine light don't come on, then you're smooth to go. Only cost 20 bucks to fix the light problem. I gave him an extra 10 bucks to buy him a 6 pack after work. Co2 in my car were going to cost me close 500 dollars including labor. 2 thumbs up on hack a day auto shop.

According to google maps and the guy I spoke with on the phone that works at this place on Tuesday 5/26/2021, "supposedly" this shops opens at 8:00 AM. I get to this shop around 8:05ish on Thursday and there's a Hispanic guy outside just prancing around and etc, etc. I asked him does the shop opens at 8:00 AM and his response was "it aint 8 o'clock yet". I told him it is past 8 AM but he continued to go back n forth with me about the time (saying it louder each time like he had an attitude or something). After about three to four times of saying "it's not 8:00 AM aggressively", he finally looks at his phone and was like, "what you want me to do, the guy with the key is not here yet" (after the employee realized it was bout 8:10 AM at this point). First off, you could have explained to me at first (in a professional manner - actually provide some good customer service) that you don't have the key to get in and that the person who does, is on their way; but no, you want to argue with a customer about what time it is for 5 minutes until you realized it was almost 8:15 AM at this point.Moral of the story, if you do not like your job then quit. I am not about to be a customer of yours if you cannot even provide decent customer service. I understand people be late sometimes and things happen which is why I'm not going to elaborate on the shop opening at 8 AM (maybe you need to consider changing the time from 8 AM to 8:30 or 9:00 AM if you have an issue opening up on time). Will never attempt to visit this place........ever again (horrible customer service experience - and I will let others know).Thank you!

Pete, the owner, has worked on my car twice now and has done a great job. He replaced my front brake rotors and pads, as well as the back brake shoes for $200 plus parts. Later I had to replace both front axle CV joints and he did that and an oil change for $180 plus parts.I could tell he was being straight with me when he told me that I needed and alignment, but that he didn't have the equipment to do it properly himself. An unscrupulous mechanic might have just tried to charge me for it anyway but he said he wasn't going to do it if he couldn't do it right. Both times I've been able to bring my car by and pick it up the same day I called.
