I usually don't like returning the next business day when I had them resolved the issue. First they over did it with the psi on my tires. Over 44-50... then they couldn't resolve an issue on my alignment. So here I am dealing with it... then I come back due to my steering wheel being unaligned.. I don't even recommend this place. It's been awhile that I haven't came here. You'll think after 4yrs or so of not coming.. There would be some sort of improvement.. and it's very close to my job. A good walking distance. But, it's not worth it. I avoided this place for many years and left a review. At my surprise I don't see my old review here. So here's to a fresh one. I got my car, steering wheel is now pointing to the other side. When it was slightly pointing to the right (0.15) degree wise. slight... now it's pointing to the left (330.0) degree wise.... I just want it to be in the center....... Every time they come to me. It's always an excuse.. I never hear problem resolved and you're good to go... it's always "well, we try to get it right.. we tried this... we think... we are sorry.. "......... I only came, cause I needed a simple alignment and i never had a alignment problem at my main mechanic shop... but, i needed it done and i thought they improved.. and it was a walking distance for me and to pick up when done...this shop had the alignment equipment.. but i should have waited till the weekend to take it to my area... Rant over.. but for sure. This place is not the place to go to get your vehicle maintained. Save your TIME and your MONEY and take it somewhere else.... I'm stuck with this for now, till my free day. And having to pay another shop to resolve their issue.Tires- they added air for the alignment. I'm use to seeing my tires range to 29-34. (29 due to a cold) but avg.. 32 (I knew they touched my tires, when I saw the psi on muy tires being over 44-50)Alignment- just to resolve the alignment cause it kept pulling to the right.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment

I just moved to the area, finding a good mechanic that is both knowledgeable and honest is a tough and risky task. My realtor recommended Foster's based off his positive experience. My experience at Foster's was exceptional from the moment I came in the door explaining the issues my car was having to the moment I left in a car that drove better than ever. I loved that this is a family owned business and it shows from the compassion you don't get at other places. The guys in the office and in the shop working showed me the problem areas before they started the work and even after the work was complete. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for good, quality work even if you have to drive a little way to get to them.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Took my Nisan there Jun 26th because the gears were lagging and felt as if the vehicle wouldn t move. They couldn t figure it out so they completed a transmission flush (costing nearly $400). That didn t help anything and the car died 4 days later. I took it to Almeda repair and they fixed it for $100 (damaged cables) I would not Recommend to friends and family GO TO ALMEDA REPAIR

HORRIBLE!!! If you like to be ignored, treated like a step child, wait days, days & days for simple repairs - - THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! Fosters does fleet repairs, you will always be last in line, bring it in on a Monday, watch it sit till 3pm on Friday. Then wait till you get the bill!!!I'm stupid, I know, I used them for roughly 3 years - - it only gets worse the longer you stay with them...

I would seriously advise you to never take your vehicle here. my experience with them was the first time I took my car and it came back to me smoking, with hoses and plugs not even connected back in their place. Ultimately I had a motor swap which was a complete piece of junk. I was charged almost 2, 000 for a 500.00 motor with 80,000 milesit blew oil and I spent over $7,000 in repairs to my vehicle only to have to scrap it out 4 months later at $350 at almost a total loss. Initally paid $1,700 for the car and i'm almost convinced that if I would have never went there, I would still be driving it today. I had problem after problem after problem , after taking my vehicle there. These people just upcharge and push parts and play a goodguy gimic that will have you spending thousands. I wanted to sue,i was so angry.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Let me start by saying the work this shop did was fantastic. Everything that preceded that was...disturbing to say the least. Mike up front is a very kind man but it was disheartening to hear him espousing anti-mask sentiments and listening to Alex Jones while working. The woman, who I believe is named Elizabeth, is an absolute menace. She made a variety of comments about how masks are unnecessary, how she'd like to SHOOT undocumented people, and at one point berated Mike to the point of tears. Cameron was friendly and helpful and easier than anything on the eyes. Jimmy was approachable and communicative about the work being done on my car. I just hope that Mike is able to find a healthier work environment and move away from that hatred. Sending love and patience to everyone at Foster's. I have little hope for Ms. Elizabeth but may you all find a safer workplace someday. Upon reading some of the lower-rating reviews, I see that this is all something I should have expected. Hoping others do not make the same mistake I did.Service: Brake service & repair

Before coming to Foster's, I got an estimate on repairs for many parts of my car at multiple shops. Everywhere was around $1900-2100. Foster's charged only $1250 and has been the best service with the most hospitable owners I have ever met within this industry! Mike and Alan will tell you exactly what problems your cars are having and offer you options for your vehicle. I let them know I only plan to use my car for a couple more years as it's getting old and worn. Unlike other places that are sketchy and corporate owned, they offered me the best parts but even offered me cheaper options knowing my car's situation. They don't make as much profit off it but Alan and Mike aren't in the business to cheat you out of your money; they're in the business for their love of cars and to carry on the family business. They even gave me a ride back to my place and picked me up once my car was done. These guys can get your car in and out of the shop within a day, whatever the task may be.Don't get cheated out of your money by going to a corporate owned shop. Not that I'm against corporations, but it's undeniable that a corporation's goal is to make as much profit as possible. I have called and visited around Houston and Foster's has by far the lowest labor rate, which is why they're such a great deal. They give you an even lower labor rate when it's your first visit.Mike and Alan want the best for you and will only recommend things for your car if you actually need it, not to try to yank an extra dollar off you. Trust them if they say you need something, it's only for your safety and so the damages won't cost more in the future. If you're looking for the best service, the best prices, and the most knowledgeable and honest mechanics, Foster's is your go-to shop!

Diagnosed the issue. However, I was not told the amount for the diagnoses until the end. Over the phone I was told they would look at it with out any commitment. I know that service isn't free. The fee should be brought up during the initial consult.

When I got there it was supposed to be a 30 minute process to change my oil and do a quick plug in diagnostic to find out why one of my lights were on. And the once over diagnostic was supposed to be free for the 1st time customer because I was getting work done. So 2 hours and $135 later the only thing I can say about that visit was the conversations I had with the customers. Really 2.5 stars.

After my car was stolen and then found again, I was looking for a trustworthy mechanic to take a look and make sure everything was still in good condition. What I found was a group of people with courtesy and compassion far exceeding my expectations. From the start on the phone I was shown sympathy and invited in. I was given a ride from and to the shop while they looked things over, and when they did find an unrelated issue, they were quick to call with a very reasonable offer to fix it. It was quick, affordable, and the warm service was just what I needed after such an unpleasant incident.I would STRONGLY recommend this place to anyone looking for good service at a good price from good people.

I have used Foster s several times over the past few years and I am always completely satisfied. It is a great thing to have a knowledgeable and reliable mechanic. I highly recommend developing a relationship with a mechanic for routine maintenance and oil changes so that when something goes wrong, they are familiar with your vehicle and you know you can trust them. If you go to most name brand shops, you will be dealing with always-changing sales people, whose job is, well, sales. At Foster s you are dealing with the same long-term owners who are mechanics.

Based on my experiences, Foster's is a great Houston institution for automotive services. During my college days, Foster's had (still is) always been reliable and has fixed a number of my past car issues. Recently, my Toyota Avalon had an issue where my headlights would turn off randomly and then when I turned off my headlight switch and turned it back on, the headlights would work again. But it would happen randomly and I didn't want to continue driving knowing that this could be an issue. I took my Avalon in and Alan diagnosed the problem. He listened carefully and explained to me the issues with the car. In comparison to quotes others have written online on other sites in regards to this issue, Foster's did a great job in giving me a reasonable price for awesome work. I've had the car for two weeks since the repairs and the headlights are working great! I go to Foster's because they're honest (they take the time to explain the issue to you), do good work and they do it at a fair price.

Had an amazing experience at this garage! Alan is the best!!!! It is really nice to find people that treat you so well. He was very honest and straightforward. The repairs were very fast and they made me feel cared for as a customer. I definitely feel like I got a great deal. It is also a really nice touch that they drop you off and pick you up. Wish there were more than five stars!

My Acura broke down. Windows wouldn't roll up, engine ran, but I couldn't get the shifter out of "park". Battery was working. They had their towing company tow my car in. and had it ready in one day. They also told me they will work on my 1984 VW camper. That's hard to find, these days. One of only three repair shops in a 40-mile radius that will do that. When they fix my VW van problem they get a full 5-star review.

i went in today for a car inspection and they were affordable and efficient! the gentleman who inspected my car was friendly as was the gentleman i believe to be his son. the only improvement could be the attitude of other employees but i understand it was cold and early when i came in. i would definitely recommend them to anybody!

These guys are the friendliest and hardest working people I have dealt with in a long while. They replaced my entire motor for an amazing price. For half of what the dealer was going to charge me! They also took the time to educate me on what I needed to do with my vehicle as far as after care and have been eager to help me with any issues I have had since which have only been trying to get my car ready for vehicle inspections. It passed with flying colors! SO- I would recommend these guys to anyone. ~MW

I took my car here after some of the lights on my dashboard turned on. They were courteous and very helpful in diagnosing the problem. They took the codes from my car and told me the possible causes of the issue. I left the car with them overnight and they gave me a ride to my apartment, which was only a short drive away. The next day, they recommended some repairs but didn't push anything after I decided to hold off on them for the time being, since they weren't exactly essential to the performance of the car. Overall, they were excellent when it comes to customer service and I'll make sure to go to them in the future for any car trouble while I'm in Houston.

I bring my car here regularly because it's super close, but also because they're friendly and fast. Without an appointment, I brought my car in for a state inspection and was there for a total of 25 minutes. Unheard of! Definitely recommend.

I live in the neighborhood and wanted to try a local, family owned outfit after having yet another bad oil change from Jiffy Lube. Foster's is a real family business with great honest people. They will pick you up and drop you off (within reason). They have a ton of experience and won't stiff you. I am so grateful to have found a decent mechanic shop that I regularly bring them coffee! Lol. Highly recommended for BOTH quality of work and fair prices. Thank you Foster's!

I have taken my car here over four times for repair, and it's always been a positive experience. They have listened to my concerns and questions and answered in a timely manner. If my car had parts that were difficult to find they tracked them down and at a fair price. Good old-fashioned family business and great customer service.

I took my vehicle here for a second opinion on an A/C issue. They found a cable unplugged (missed by another shop). Ultimately they then changed out some components that were not functioning properly and it cost 1/2 what another shop quoted. Plus they said car wouldn't be ready until the following day, but they finished the work before end of the first day. The people are friendly and obviously efficient at what they do.

Went in with a couple of issues and talked to Alan. He was very knowledgeable and informative about what could possibly be going on with my car. They found the issue and fixed it. Alan then contacted me, he explained in detail what exactly was going on and he was very honest and fair with pricing. I will definitely continue business there and thank y all so much for your hard work. I am a very happy customer.

As always, Foster's saves the day! Bought a new (to me) car with some issues, needing to drive it to Dallas within 24 hours.... Where normal shops would give you a $1000 run around for a week, Jimmy said "yup, we can do that"Amazing shop, amazing staff, and amazing work from every single person at this place. Have always and will ALWAYS trust Fosters team with my cars. Can't be a car shop in the same neighborhood since 1952 without being honest and fair!

Guy at the front makes me uncomfortable, stared at my chest often and insisted on forcing everyone with ears to listen to political diatribes. Also my catalytic converter was stolen the same day after my last visit here as well. Unfortunate because the mechanics are good, but the guy at the front makes it unbearable

You can trust this mechanic.I have taken my vehicles to Foster's 5 times and they have only taken my money 3 times. Two trips to Fosters resulted in some friendly advice and no charge at all. Literally. Try finding another mechanic anywhere that will tell a customer, "There's nothing wrong with your car afterall, it was just this small issue and we fixed it. Come back and see us when you really have a problem. No charge."Tonight when I picked up my truck for a "real problem" the charge was actually about $40 less than the quote. Clearly you won't be swindled here. They do honest work and are good people. I won't go anywhere else.

I had a major problem with my Nissan Juke. After having my car towed to their location they were immediately helpful & gave me the complete overview of what to expect & when they could get my car ready to pick up. The next day i received a call from the head mechanic explaining to me what the problem was & how much it would be.. The cost was fair & they had my vehicle ready within 2 days... They are family owned & operated since the mid 1950's. The original owners son still runs the business & it shows.. They know what their doing & you can expect not to get screwed over like some places around the houston area...!
