I've been a customer for over 20 years. Matt (the owner) and Madd (shop manager) are both very knowledgeable. As a single female I have found that the work they do is both thorough and accurate and I trust them implicitly, even bought a used car from Matt. Highly recommend.

Had a pleasant time waiting on my car to be inspected by hard working professionals, very short staffed. Cream floats under duress. I trust them with my car and am happy to pay them with my own hard to come by dollars.

I just have to say, Matt is probably the best mechanic I ever met. He has a degree in engineering. So he won't BS you when he gives you his diagnosis of your car. I would take my cars to him since I was a teenager. I'm 40 now and moved away from Houston, but always wish I was still there to even just talk to him. He's such a good guy and I wish him the best. Don't bother going anywhere else. He runs a great shop and always makes sure he has honest, smart and hardworking mechanics there.

When I first walked in, it was a little after 5pm. The man behind the countertop sounded and acted as though he had a bad attitude so I almost decided to walk back out. Then when I looked around the shop as well as on the outside I became a little uncomfortable and I almost decided to walk out anyway.Uhhh, I think I'll just stick to my original place where I go to get my car inspected.Thanks, anyway.Two stars because he at least agreed to look at my car.

I have some mechanical ability but there are times I need the Pros to do good work at a fair price.These guys at 1st Choice are great. I recently had a vehicle that had intermittent sensor problems - very hard to diagnose. Maddy listened to my description of the problem and worked with me to figure it out. Good prices and very honest No problem recommending them - would send friends and family there.

We are their customers since many years. Very professional, expert mechanics, cost-wise very economy and very honest. They don't force you for unnecessary repair expenses or replacement of parts. Once I was out of town and auto shop insisted to replace big parts of engine, when I took Van to 1s choice, they fix it with minimal charges without replacing Parts. Excellent job done every time and that's reason we are going there all the way 22 miles !!!Services: Electrical repair, Engine repair

Very reasonable, accurate, polite and straightforward. I didn't feel intimidated or like I was being scammed because I'm a woman. They even recently completed a very diagnostic report for me! So grateful to this shop and will remain a returning customer for years to come!

Terrible experience and I will not come back to this shop again. Matt charged me 250$ to repair my AC. By the time I came back for pick up, his assistant was in and he made me pay 285$ instead of $250. They kept me in the office and ended up making me to pay for the service when they did not do anything on my car. He pretentiously saying, this car Ac was working before. I felt so bad, sad and still feeling the same. This guys took my money for nothing. He suggested I should change the compressor for $1300 when they have charged me $285 for nothing . Services: Carburetor cleaning, A/C installation & repair

They are overall good with their pricing and labor but I would suggest check couple more places before you get a major repair from these guys. I believe they are good when it comes to basic stuff but if it's a major thing they tend to work around the fix and only focus on shortcut. They fix one thing but another thing pops up weeks later if the issue has multiple steps to complete which they dont mention upfront.

I found the two negative reviews to be completely inconsistent with my experience. Matt, the owner, was very helpful to me. His prices were fair, and he gave me reasonable advice about what needed to be done with my car now, and what could wait for another day. He explained my options and his recommendations thoroughly. I was very happy and will be going back.

I wanted to share details of my experience with First Choice Auto Care to facilitate the process of possibly getting your vehicle fixed at a great location. I was pleasantly surprised with the professionalism, care and attention to my truck repairs resulting from an accident. These guys are good and they work quickly. A courtesy rude was available and they worked with the insurance company to reach a solution. First Choice Auto Care is a one-time stop for body work, oil change, a general mechanic or registration. Highly recommend!

The first couples times coming here for a flat tire/ oil change, The service was cool but after today I will never be back. I came for an inspection (25$) . manager tried to over charge me 10$ for a light bulb that I purchased and when I argued him down he got angry and told me and my wife to "get out !" and pointed to the door and stormed off. I just dont feel this is the way customer service should be especially when I'm spending my hard earned money.

These guys are on top of their game! Thorough, knowledgeable and kind- just what you want from mechanics, actually that's what you want from anyone. My wife and I are incredibly grateful to have stumbled across them.

They did an over the phone inspection on a truck that I purchased from a nearby car lot. Inspected on 2-12-2020, turned on the headlights later that day to find that the driver's headlight was out. Had tires checked & 2 of them won't pass inspection. they also put Manual for the transmission, if they had actually inspected it, they would know it is an automatic. Don't trust them with your vehicle

I used to do my two cars inspection here for the past three years but not anymore after today. I took my wife s car for inspection and they charged me extra $10 for changing a light bulb! (which is pretty much less than one minute job) and when I urged him he got mad and behaved unprofessionally. Well, you guys just lost my business

If you want to spend your hard earned money on nothing and still not have your car fixed, then you should definetly come here. Three times I have just given the owner money for nothing. I found out about this place because it is right down the street from my home , but the professionalism , the workmanship and the prices are herendous. If its an oil change you want , then fine this is your place but serious repairs forget about it. My first serious repair was when I needed a new engine ,the owner Matt had some tow truck company he deals with to tow my vehicle to his shop , I waited a few days for a quote and diagnostic and he told me my engine needed to be replaced and it was going to cost $2500.00. I refused service and I had to pay $235.00 to get my car back , and when i got my car back nothing was put back together. (went somewhere else 1300.00)maybe if i was a guy it would have been better service but anyhow . The second time , same car, after having someone else put my alternator on , I heard a noise driving down the street so I drove my car there , it turned out that my alternator belt needed replacing also , then Matt the owner said my belt tensioner needed replacing too , the price was $235.00 again . Ok . whatever it took to fix my car, after the repair was finished i still heard the noise, turns out my new alternator was bad.ok but today took the cake, about two days ago , this time with my boyfriend , we had my vehicle towed there because the car was having an electrical problem causing it not to start , we had the fuel pump changed and the crank shaft sensor and ignition module changed already. We bring it in to to Matt the owner , he's standing outside with his first customer giving an emissions test , patiently we're waiting for service, when another customer walks up and jumps us in line...Whoo hoo did my boyfriend go bullistic, because the owner had started to work on the third customer's car. The owner started telling my boyfriend he couldn't diagnose it today,which we agreed, but at least acknowledge us and check our vehicle in before you skip us was our point. Matt told us that he would call us the next day, he didn't i had to call ,he told me don't call back he would call me, so my boyfriend went up there, he told him it was a computer problem , because he checked the fuel pump. WHAT!!! we told him already we had checked that before , but anyway he told my boyfriend he would call with an estimate the next day , which is today. The estimate $585.00 , what the %$^&!!! , needless to say me any my boyfriend go in to pick it up and refuse service , told him to put it back together , he charges me $100.00. For what???What did he do??? His rudeness and arrogance as if he doesn't appreciate your business is beyond measure. I just wanted to tell all the customers as they were driving up not to use him. And then on top of that when I got my car back the battery was dead .Word of mouth is a powerful tool and you can rest assure Mr. Matt that you may get alot of business but you will lose alot more and not before someone kicks your a$$ for being a bad businessman!!!!!!!!

Mad and Matt were incredible and explained what was wrong, how to fix it, and gave me a reasonable deal.I don't know about these 1 star reviews, seems like unreasonable customers.

I was charged about $350~ just for 6 spark plugs. The car is starting to have the same issues that I brought it in with, didn't even get an oil change at that price. Please save your money and go elsewhere.

Mac is a SCAM artist and they are criminals. They tried to charge me $700 for a $200 job. I also paid for my breaks and AC...MY BREAKS ARE STILL SQUEEKING AND AC STILL NOT WORKING. I PROMISE YOU, YOU DO NOT WANT TO BRING YOUR CAR HERE. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE. In addition, when I tried to talk to him about these things he hung up in my face multiple times.

Contrary to the previous review, I find these guys very trustworthy.They explain the issue and give straight forward advice on whether a repair is needed immediately or not.I fully recommend and trust this shop.

Came here to get my car inspected last year and had no issues. Today I was turned away because my tint was "after market and too dark". After arguing with the guy at the front desk, I drove away only to see "Nissan" stamped on all of my windows. All tint was installed during the fabrication of the vehicle! Took my car next door to RAPID REPAIR AUTO CENTER and they passed my car and confirmed that the tint was legal and came stock with the car.
