Will not communicate with you or send an estimate, but will perform repairs on your car WITHOUT authorization and damage your vehicle. Will also reassemble your car with missing bolts and will charge you dealership prices for cheap aftermarket parts.I hoped to have a good experience given Pat s charisma and knowledge of autos, however I left with a huge bill full of supplemental diagnostic charges (of which any reputable shop would waive if you have then proceed with repair ((which reminder, I did not authorize nor receive a quote for))) and over $1000 in damages to my vehicle and an incomplete repair.I hope others can have a good experience, and they learn to add protective seat covers and floor mats, as well as how to reassemble your car without forgetting bolts.

A car shouldn t leave a shop in WORSE CONDITION than when you bring it in!Downtown Automotive on Fairview has had my car for months. No communication with me, I had to repeatedly attempt phone calls to get someone on the phone who could actually get me an answer or update.And that s if they even answered the phone.And if they did answer the phone, their response was usually: The mechanic is out to lunch Or Call us back tomorrow Only to call tomorrow and have no one ANSWER THE PHONE.No response to my emails. Nothing.I finally just showed up to pay for the work done and pick up my car, and this is how they left it.Yes that is a flat tire.Yes that is a partially disassembled engine.Yes those are parts and covers just left in the floor of my passenger seat.And the battery was dead.I just bought that battery and replaced it two days before I brought it to them.They said its because I didn t tell them I was coming.ITS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO DO THAT WHEN YOUR SHOP NEVER RETURNS CALLS/EMAILS OR ANSWERS THE PHONE.When I came back to collect it at the time they said it would be ready, they were still talking about buying parts for it and doing more work, none of which I consented to.One of the parts they bought with their own money! was a part I had already bought, and had in the car, and told them to install when I dropped the car off months ago!I m furious.I want a refund.DO NOT bring your car here.Service: Engine repair

I was referred to them by AAA. Their overall service was excellent. The staff was friendly and my car was repaired correctly and quickly as promised.I will chose them if necessary for future repairs for my other vehicles.

My horn was broken and I needed a new gasket on my engine. They were communicative, fast, and fairly priced. I especially appreciated their transparency through the process. Shout out to Pat for being really nice and following through on his word.

Most auto repairs come at unexpected and inopportune times. My battery light came on and by that night my alternator was dead. I had my car towed to Downtown Automotive late after they were closed and left my keys in the drop box. They called me the next day with updates and it was fixed by the afternoon. A fair price ( I checked around) and done in a timely manner. Friendly, professional and honest ( a good combo to be sure). I've had other work done there and will be back when things go wrong again (I know they will).

Came in when my check engine light came on. Pat was able to provide great customer service and called me when the problem got diagnosed. Had my car running back in less than 3 days.

These people deserve negative stars & a lawsuit, thats it! This place is the definition of automotive repair shop scammers. The ones customers avoid, fear & hate. I will NEVER be back!! & My advice to you is too keep driving past this place, get your vehicles out of their shop & if you have a vehicle there go back & take photos of it. They need to be out of business because they are just taking advantage of innocent people & taking their money to stay open.My Horror Story:I went in for a check engine light that came on due to my gas cap needing to be changed. I had this issue in the past & the shop reset the light & it didn't turn on again until now; that was years ago. I go to this place expressing the same thing & instantly a RED FLAG #1, they tell me thats not it. It has to be something wrong.My registration was expired & my goal was to get the car registered so I could drive it legally again. I said fine they can look & see. Now there are more problems with the vehicle than before I brought it in. I drive my vehicle when needed with the bad registration so it wasn't sitting & it was last driven the day before I brought it to the shop. These scammers call me days later telling me because I haven't driven it rodents might of got to things & an oil sensor is out but the sensor house usually goes bad so they recommend replacing this too. RED FLAG #2. If any company tells you that your car is having a minor issue but recommend you repair a major part they are just trying to get money from you. I should've took my vehicle then but Noooo, I trusted these scammers & let them charge me over 1k for a problem that I m sure cost less.Then I get the invoice. Days later I get another invoice with a price increase. The following day I get a 3rd invoice over the phone saying the price has gone up yet again. The guy on the phone couldn t even explain the price increases but he had no problem telling me how my vehicle was low 3quarts of oil so they added that without consent & charged me. & now it s ticking so something else may be failing due to the oil being low & leaking into it; when it never TICKED in all the years I had it until I brought it here. Sounds like they F d something up & now they want me to come back or leave the vehicle with them for MORE MONEY! Another RED FLAG!!! Not to mention I have never seen oil leaking anywhere on the ground & I recently got an oil change & they never stated my car was low on oil.So all of a sudden these problems are arising AFTER I brought it to this hell hole & they all have to do with the oil ironically. At this point I wouldn't leave my vehicle another second even if it was a ticking time bomb. I now have to go to another repair shop to have them see why it s ticking & what caused it.OH! Not to mention one of their fat mechanics broke the handle hanging in my car trying to pull themselves into the vehicle. Then they tried to say it was like that when I brought it in. As if I don't know my vehicle & didn't drive it to the place with it intact! I don't use the handles, as they were put there for decoration so all this time its been in the car, it s never been broken. Now all of a sudden it s broke & they don't know how .. The latch on my hood wont close .never had a problem there either . Just a pure SCAMMM!

Made an appointment for an oil change package and was out of there in less than 30 minutes. Used AAA benefit and received a $40 discount. Everyone I interacted with was professional and friendly. Definitely recommend Downtown Automotive!!!

I've been going to Downtown Auto for about 10 years. They've never let me down, but the best thing I can say is that they are trustworthy. Mark the owner sets a culture of character and integrity that runs throughout. Also Pat is great to deal with and will do everything he can to get you in and out in as little time as possible.

Love this car shop. First time I went and brought my car it was fixed in under a day. Same thing again this time I brought it and it was fixed up. Excellent customer service from Pat and his team! Pat and I worked together to stay on top of the Insurance Adjusters (can t wait to drop Progressive Insurance, I have so much respect for Geico after this experience).My car looks great! Paint job, tires, tint, and body work 10/10 and I really like that someone always answers the phone when you call. If you want a great mechanic, this is your place. Had a conversation with the owner when I first started using their service in 2005. Being curious, I asked how he got in the industry. He explained his great grandfather, grandfather and Dad are all mechanics. At the age of 8, his Dad got a sender block, and he worked side by side with his Dad, learning the trade. Mark is a man who is actually trained to be a mechanic and not just a part changer.

If i could give 0 stars i would. DONT GO HERE!!!!!!9/5/23- i needed a new battery, i was directed to them from triple A . One gentleman checked me in gave me a price for the battery($210) and labor(109.03 for 0.7 of an hour full hour of labor is 155.75) took the guy 15 min; asked about labor cost , THE OWNER got mad with me & slammed my keys on the counter telling me to have it for free and to leave.he cut me off numerous of times, never let me explain my reasoning of confusion with the labor. I had no problem paying 45 min of labor but if it didn t even take you 20 min, why should I pay damn near for a full hour of service. I didn t raise my voice or yell at him, I was very calm and you can tell he was having a bad day , he even admitted that. Not realizing after told me to leave that I didn t pay for the battery. Calls me 5x telling me to come back and pay. After getting parents involved, he agreed I only pay for the battery and the pink hair employer still tried to make me pay $300 for just the battery after the last employee told me it was 210 and told me that price before ordering battery from autozone. Pink hair employee tried to say $210 was the base price but even it was she or owner never came to me saying it was more than $210 once battery was delivered or when the mechanic was doing my service.Service: Auto battery replacement

I had my car taken here after breaking down. I was happy with how things were handled from beginning to end. They were upfront about everything, informed me on different options, and I could tell they genuinely just wanted what was best for me. This makes all the difference in auto experience and I m glad I chose them. Everyone was friendly and I will be giving them my future business!

I have to give major props to downtown automotive repair. I was in a bind and needed my battery changed. I called and spoke to Alejandra and she ran the guys down and let them know I was coming in at closing. The guys were so busy that I had to park across the street They went across the street and did the work on my truck. Great business and a bunch of great guys. The employees were nice but I got ripped off. I had a oil leak and engine issues. They fixed the oil leak and then I took it to Toyota because the car making a funny sound. Toyota technicians told me they used after market parts NOT brand new parts. I got a second opinion from a trusted friend/car technician and samething was said after market parts. It will break again due to its not Toyota parts. Labor is 175.00 a hour too. Never going here again.Service: Engine repair
