Allen and his son are top notch professionals. They built Differentials for my Little red Jeep JKU close to a year ago and they are FLAWLESS. Don't let Allen scare you. When he talks, he talks straight. Talk straight back to him. Very refreshing. Go here if you want exellent service and an excellent products for your vehicle.

Allen is awesome! I normally don't let anyone touch my vehicles because I've had some hellacious experiences in the past with mechanics. But I took my F250 in to get it re-geared after throwing a lift and 38"s on. Too big of a job for me to do myself. Allen and his son did a great job! The turnaround was way faster than I expected, at a better price than the other places I called, AND they were really thorough with communicating what they were doing and what I needed to do for break in....which is far more than I can say for most mechanic shops I've been to in the past. Now my truck is driving beautifully! He even offered to replace my front wheel bearings for me, which is great because it took one more thing off my plate. Thanks Allen! I'll definitely be referring my buddies to this business in the future.

I got my differential fixed here and Alan did a great job. Alan is a straight forward person, tells it like it is, and definitely knows what he's doing. Thanks for the great work!

The best place for gear work in Houston! Owner and employees are super knowledgeable and have seen it all. They made sure I fully understood what I needed on my truck and provided different suggestions that ended up making the best setup for my needs. They were super fast and very detailed.

Allen is a great guy. Very knowledgeable. Service was fast and efficient. If you want gears installed to factory specifications this is the place to go.

Allen is very helpful and knowledgeable. Got my Jeep's differential repaired and re-geared in a couple of days, Very fairly priced!!! They did a great job. Job even comes with a warranty so far everything is going great, I will definitely recommend this shop and will definitely be back for business. Thank you!

We had our gears changed to increase our towing capabilities. Very professional and great work. I would definitely bring another vehicle. The service was a year ago or longer. Quality work. Allen is great!This is Diona s husband making the post.Thank you Allen!!

Allen and Ryan do fantastic work! I was referred to this place by another reviewer (Garrett) and am happy I came to these guys. I have a 2015 F150 with oversized tires. New gears made all the difference in the world. Got all my power back. And would not have trusted my truck to anyone else. Don't go anywhere else. As a hint? Bring a dog toy for Allen's dog. Not sure why others gave bad reviews.... maybe because they don't understand the complexity of this type of work. It takes patience and time to do this right!

My baby Jeep is now healthy and back on the road! I took it to 249 when the rear axle went on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler. Allen is a pro. He quickly troubleshooted the issue and took the time to thoroughly explain how he was planning to rebuild it. It's all done and drives great. Simply excellent, from start to completion! Allen was a pleasure to talk too and they able to change the gear in one day. I love my 3.73's. Thanks guys. (and no I'm not affiliated with the shop for all you paranoid people, just a happy customer that feels like credit is due for quality work these days. God knows it's hard to find. :)

I was referred to come to this shop and all I can say is do not hesitate to get your work done here, this is one of the best differential building and regear shop in Houston hands down, other shops giving me a long turn around time and ridiculous pricing but these guys here get it done in a fast turn around time with a fair price and great customer service ever, had an issue and they took care of my rebuild and regear that I needed in a few days ready to go, I got 4:88s put in my JK and runs smooth, took it to Colorado after I regeared it and road like factory on the highway and good on the highway inclines too. They did an amazing job, I will definitely come back and be a returning customer, thank you again for taking care of my Jeep. And to the previous customers who complained about him not working in it when you bring it, remember you re not the only customers waiting for work, be patient and it ll get done, don t be rude to them, it s worth the wait, I had to wait as well but only because others were ahead of mine for work but he got it done in a 2 days. People do have lives too let the man enjoy his time it s not like your getting charge for days it s there so why complain? He s worth the wait take my word for it, I was the same asking him but common sense came into play when I noticed 4 other vehicles in the lot and 2 on the racks so don t complain people. And if you take your parts be sure you have everything if not just buy it from Mr. Allen it s the same price online with a labor charges just like a mechanic for new parts and installation and has everything we need for our Jeeps. It ll get taken care of take my word for it.

Had an unusual noise in the driveline; thought it might be the transfer case. A few folks recommended 249Driveline to me, so I gave them a call and Allen was able to get my Jeep in quickly.Thankfully, the issue was relatively minor; and Allen was top-notch. I've never met anyone who knows drivetrains and gears as well as he does!Jeep was in and out in three days, cost was very fair, work done was top grade. Would be glad to give him more work, or to recommend family or friends should they need.

I brought my mustang in to be upgraded to limited slip differential. Works great they did a great job and had lots of trust in them to do this job correctly. Was a few extra dollars compared to another place but was well worth it knowing they did a good quality job.

I took my 1990 Mustang to them to chase down gear noise. Ended up they had to do extra work to get it fixed including clearancing a brake caliper. Unfortunately, after they finished and pulled the car out of the shop, the car rolled down an incline and damaged the trunk lid and bumper. Allen immediately took responsibility and reimbursed the cost. I give them 5 stars for great work and stepping up when a mistake was made. He will get all of my rear end business going forward. I really enjoyed working with this shop.

Old school shop run by an old school dude.Allen and his son Ryan do top notch work for a very fair price. Don't let Allen shy you away though, he's very straight forward and honest which I appreciate a lot.10/10 would recommend to anyone

Some may shy away from this place because the proprietor uses adult language . As for me, I found him rather entertaining. I choose to spend my money based on quality and value, and it is clear this guy is a master at his craft. Wanting to upgrade the gears in my 2015 Jeep, I chose 249 DT because one of their specialties is Jeep drive trains (amongst many others). The quality and value were on point and I will be recommending my Bayou City Jeep Club Members have their drive train service performed here. Great work, and great value!!!

Allen knows his stuff. He specializes in front and rear ends, and his results demonstrate this. His prices are fair, and he doesn t beat around the bush. Because he is so good, he also is very busy. Be patient as the results are worth it.

Allen knows his rear-ends. He is the most knowledgeable in his field in the Houston area Metroplex. He will soon build me a Ford 8.8" Rear-end. High horsepower and torque. He is very professional and I support small family businesses.

I had My 1999 Dodge Ram in for repair in February. I m now writing this review now that i have put 6000mi on the truck. First of all if you are looking for a fruitcake shop that will kiss your behind and beg for your money, WRONG! Allen is a no nonsense, tell it as it is, straight forward, cursing, Loving American! He is Not fast or a low life. He is however honest and the work is top notch. The work on my truck was the following,1) complete rearend rebuild with a Yukon limited slip2) complete front dif rebuild with a Yukon limited slip, and axles.3) front and rear driveshaft rebuilt.This was a complete drivetrain done. No it wasn t the fastest done, nor was it the cheapest. What i do Have though is one badass drivetrain that won t let me down. For all the people that have given bad reviews, it wasn t for quality of work it was for his attitude. Well I ll take quality of work with a bad attitude over a fruitcake shop anyday! So to all fruitcakes don t go here as your feeling will get hurt and allow us real men to have quality work done by a top notch professional.

Called to speak with them to get a quote to set my ring and pinion Correctly need to change gears. said id buy the ring and pinion from him but already had my seals and bearing bought. He said if I did not buy new parts from Him he would charge me more to do the job.

I had a 8.8 rear end installed here with matching 373 gears in my front dana 30. Had my jeep back in 2 weeks and not a single issue. Will go back again!!Hes a business man and they are always busy, be patient for great work.

Had the rear end rebuilt in my 2011 Silverado. VERY happy with the service, quick turnaround and a very fair price on the work that was done. I would definitely recommend them for any rear end work

Took a week to get my jeep in. He kept the jeep a week and never started any work. When I called on status of the car after no word for 5 days he accused me of harassment. Said he didn't need my business. A friend drove by and said he was grilling with friends and not working at all. I went and picked up the jeep and he returned it without a word about the fact he never touched it. Crazy!!! Do not use this guy.

Ok, I brought my Jeep in because I had an ongoing transmission issue that the previous transmission monkeys did not fix. Allen found the root of the problem and fixed it. No more issues!! Yes, he might take a little longer, but its done right! I won't use anyone else but him now..

Just had some differential work done by Allen and I have to say the work was great, he was a thoroughly nice and friendly chap and the price was absolutely fair. Lots of experience, give him a call.

Fantastic shop, superb service and all around great experience. Drove 50 miles and passed multiple shops to come here and will return in the future for my vehicles needs. I will tell every jeeper/truck guy I know to bring their rigs here for their regear and axle needs.

The owner is rude, not professional, and could benefit from counseling sessions. Had 4.56 put in on my JKU and dealing with him was regretful. His own son said nobody can work with him. Find another shop IMO...

Quick and easy, Allen is very knowledgeable and willing to help in any way he can. Highly recommend for any drivetrain work.
