This mechanic is just hands down amazing - great at fixing cars and somehow also good at dealing with people - usually you get one or the other! Super fair pricing, super quick work, and a real pleasure to deal with - the only mechanic I ll trust in the Waco/Hewitt/Woodway area

Stopped by on Monday for an inspection. The tall young man declined to inspect my car because it was sprinkling rain. He said it wasn't worth $7 for him to get wet. I asked him if he could air up my low tires. He refused, saying if he did that, he would have to do it outside & again mentioned getting wet. Needless to say, I was disappointed that he was unwilling to help an older lady. Will never go back there.

They fixed my AC and charged a reasonable price. I was impressed how quickly they were able to fix it and with the communication through the process l. You do have to pay with cash or a check.

I have always been treated well here and trust these guys. I have to end up going other places lately bc they are now so busy but I get screwed over at other places. If you can wait a few days to get your car in here, do it!

I can't say enough good things about this shop! They were so kind and helpful to me. The mechanics fixed my brake light so quickly, and they are genuine, nice people. I would recommend them to anyone in the Waco area, for any vehicle issue. Really great people. Trustworthy, honest and fair. They were quick to get my vehicle in and repaired and explained the issues with us in detail. The oil pressure light in my Lincoln, kept coming on when the engine got warmed up. They put it on a diagnostic system to ck it out. Although they were unable to duplicate the situation at the time, they allowed me to stop by the shop during a time when the light and alarm did come on. Long story short replaced the oil pressure indicator and there has been no problem since. We brought our truck in, as it was having electrical issues. We assumed it was the alternator, and so did the mechanic there. Once they started working on it, it turned out to be a loose connection. I went for an Inspection and when i went to pay he told me they weren't taking cards but he told me i could come back whenever to pay him, i was blown away what he told and trusted me on good Faith to come back and i Definitely came back and paid. Beyond fantastic, I came here for repairs and was treated like family. Several times lower price than what the dealership quoted and doubtless better quality work. They were able to answer every question down to each screw. Wish I could give many more than 5 stars, come here and you ll see why. THANK YOU McDonough Auto.

When my check engine light came on, I had no idea where I was going to take my car. A friend of the family referred me here, so I called and told them what the code was reading and he said he wouldn t be able to get to it until Friday but that they d look at it and see. He said that if it needed a repair I d probably have to bring it back after they ordered the part. I dropped it off on Friday and not only did they let me know exactly what was wrong, the were able to order the part and do the repair same day. AND it didn t break the bank. They were so nice both at pick up and drop off and I can t thank these guys enough for helping me out! Thank you McDonough!

Very happy with the honesty of these guys. I was told by one auto shop that my AC compressor needed replacing at $800-$1000. I took it to McDonough for a second opinion, and they checked everything and told me I just need a AC clutch relay replacing. Super grateful for their honesty! We'll be going here again!

Thank you Josh.I came because I was sure what was wrong with my vehicle. The check it out. And, didn't find anything wrong. They told me it may need another alignment. They sent me to Tires To Go.All I need was a new tires Great honest people

I have taken my car here a few times since moving to Waco. They have always been fair, professional, easy to communicate with and understanding. Don t know why anyone would go anywhere else! We had to get a new battery for our car and auto zone could not install it. Took it to McDonough and the gentleman there was so nice and got it installed right away for me. Super friendly will definitely use them again for our car needs.

Family owned and operated. Long time pillars of the community. I went in there for the first time with some issues and they went far and beyond and did an amazing job. Even though it was the end of the day they did the work that day. Kind, reputable and delivery of top notch service and quality work. Thank you! I would highly recommend anyone using McDonough Auto Service. They are very trust worthy!

Mr McDonough is one of the nicest, gentlest, caring and honest men I've ever met. I would 10 out of 10 reccomend this place if your car needs anything. Honesty is hard to find in this industry and Mr. McDonough is unfailingly honest. If I could give more than five stars, I would!

I had a short notice problem with my 2008 Impala. I brought my own parts based on information from a neighboring auto parts store. However, Ron did not rely on their data but said he would run additional diagnostics and sent me home; told me that he would get back to me with the diagnosis and estimate. True to his word, I heard from him about an hour later. In less than four hours, my problem was fixed, I paid a reasonable price, and I obtained a refund on a part from the parts store that was not needed. This is the kind of service that I wish I could find in more places. They even adjusted the air pressure in my tires which I had not mentioned and was going to take care of later. If I need vehicle service in the future, McDonough Auto Service in Hewitt, TX will be my first call.

Brought my car in to do a smoke vacuum leak test. Brian, his mechanics and receptionist were very professional. Brian and his techs seemed very knowledgeable and sincere.Will not hesitate to come back.

McDonough auto service is exactly what I look for in an auto repair shop and can be wrapped up in a single word - Honesty. I appreciate when I feel comfortable with a car shop and know they are going to do right by the customer!
