Don t go there! People don t want to hear from you. The phone system hung up on us. Then email says check in 30 minutes before your appointment only to be told off like a toddler for doing so. Lady at desk didn t want to hear the story on why you re here or even help create the steps necessary to accomplish anything. She was very dismissive and told us to go to Houston instead. We live in a town near there and that was the next available appointment. We went where the website sent us. Small towns and communities are usually so helpful and this one lady was the complete opposite. If you don t know the right way to help ask somebody like a supervisor or someone that could be more knowledgeable. Our situation could ve been explained but she was not having it. Poor service. Bad experience.

This place has two extreme cases for treating people. In our first visit we dealt with an angel who did her best to help us to the best she could. In our second visit, we dealt with a lady who hates herself and everyone else in the world and her way of dealing with people was by yelling including to a 90 years old man who was in front of us in the line.

Been there twice and could not have been treated nicer. They are very friendly and efficient. I read some bad reviews but am glad I went anyway.

After driving over an hour to this DMV, I now realize I should ve read the reviews . The woman who served us was extremely rude right away. I tried not to think it was a race thing however the way she spoke to us in such a belittling and condescending tone was disgusting . We were missing some documents for a permit , it happens and had she been respectful I would ve tried again at a later date. She hardly looked at me, the mother, and told my son she needed to make sure he wasn t a delinquent when it came to school records. To the lady in desk 2, please find a job that does not involve interacting with people. Her attitude and behavior is unacceptable, and the fact you could hardly make eye contact with the adult to feel superior is pitiful . Sounds like this office needs to get with the times and fairly serve EACH customer who enters, not just the ones who look like them.

After dealing with the frustration (putting that lightly) of 4 other DPS offices for three days in a row, for my daughter to receive her driver s license, we were finally helped at this location. It was refreshing to be treated like a human being and to have someone willing to communicate with us.

Had a great experience there, we were in and out quickly and treated kindly. We went to get a driver's license.

Finally!! After driving all over Texas for multiple days in an effort to get my license we finally were able to walk in here thanks to the graciousness of the employees here. We wouldn t have been able to get my license finalized until October if Hearne didn t have mercy on us. We do understand this is a rare situation but thanks to the Hearne DPS for having some common sense!

We went to this DPS location because it was difficult to get an earlier appointment date anywhere in Austin area. Their office is clean and not crowded. Easy kiosk check in. Service was excellent. Highly recommended! Shout Christina for making process go as smoothly as possible. In and out of there in less than 30 mins! Not a paid advertisement, just want to to save people's time.

Actually the most pleasant experience at the DPS I've ever had. Made an appointment online, showed up 40 minutes early, checked in on a phone . Attendant was friendly and helpful. Waited about 2 minutes before getting called back. The Beautiful lady named Mellonie Carroll at the desk was super kind, sweet, positive & very friendly. Entire experience was about 15 minutes and was out before my scheduled appointment time.Best best DPS experience ever

I had made a mistake and brought a certified copy instead of my daughter's original birth certificate. My wife was ten minutes away from the DPS office with the correct document, when the lady said, she had to be at the office in five minutes. I told her she was 8 to 10 minutes away and she said we would have to reschedule. I made the mistake and would have been completely fine with having to reschedule if they were about to close but it was 4:45 and the door says they closed at 5:30. I would have completely understood had there been one person waiting in the waiting area and that one person would have been inconvenienced by her helping me instead of them. There was not one person in the waiting area. She was refusing to help me in ten minutes when my wife arrived with the correct document. I understand rules. It has been my life's work to enforce rules but rules should never override common sense or doing the right thing when you are a public servant.

Go to the one in Byran as my neighbors informed me after my ineffective visit to this location. The unfriendly lady working there on Sept 29th, 2023 already has a reputation of unhelpful and rude.

Well the people working there are friendly. But there is a new law that says you must have your birth certificate to get your license. I could not find my birth certificate, but I had all sorts of other government documents proving my identity. So this is to our law makers: their is to much red tape and inflexibility. The government no longer serves the people, the people must serve the government. This is just one of many instances in which people who not truly represented. If you had a simple conversation with me, you would hear by my accent I am an American citizen. But no, they are stuck on following a procedure instead of being allowed to use common sense.

Racist and passive aggressive staff. Didn't even try to hide it. Talk to other people with a smile and greeting tone, but a scowl and full of attitude when they got to me. I'm an avoid them with kindness person but this lady tried her best to get me to react to her. They need to read these reviews and get different people.

First we had an appointment at 10:30 and the hispanic lady at counter one took us 30 minutes. She seemed to not know how to read addresses and she was rude to all the black people she had before us and even though she called us 30 minutes late she had the nerve to have an attitude with us. she talked to us like we were stupid and it was annoying and disrespectful. this is her job and she has an attitude for no reason.

I hate to throw shade but I believe these ladies need some supervision. They do you know the rules and regulations so well that apparently they don't even need to review your records. They made me start completely over on a commercial driver's license process claiming I had failed the test the maximum allowed number of times. A month later trying to finish up my testing in Bryan I find out that you can fail each Section 3 times and I never did such. They just told me all of the sudden you have to start over and you have to have an appointment without ever reviewing more records or anything else. With the complete attitude. Sorry ladies but you earned it. ( it could have been male or female it would not have made a difference it just happened to be women and I use Ladies as a sign of respect cuz my mama raised me right

Staff is very rude and unprofessional. Went to this location three times for a CDL pre trip test and failed all three times. I was very thorough and explained everything in extreme detail that I touched, last time I went I was doing an inspection on the trailer, looked up and the lady was watching the traffic on the highway wasn t even paying attention to the task at hand and at the end of my test, I didn t pass. No help, no direction, they don t care whether you pass or not. Will not be returning to this location. Stay away!

I don't know about the rest of these reviews, but the bryan office was booked for the entire day and wouldn't book walk in appointments (8am), extremely rude about it too. I drove to hearne, made an appointment there for 5 minutes later, and renewed my license. I had to get this done TODAY. So hearne dps saved my month! And were very nice while doing it.

I took my mother here to get a driver's license. The lady behind the counter was quite rude to her, and not at all helpful. According the list of possible documentation to prove residency, she had more than enough to get it done, if the DPS lady had been so inclined. Unfortunately, she was more interested in being hateful & avoiding any work.

They were extremely racist, unkind, and constantly raised their voices to me and my 15 year old son. This place is terrible and I hope they fix this issue.

These Ladies and I use that very loosely are very rude and unprofessional I took my grandson up there 3 times and was told I needed different documents every time and he still does not have his license. Needless to say I understand why they have 3 *s if I could give them O stars I would. we are a DPS, Sheriff Deputy, Criminal Justice (27 years) City Police Family and I have never had to deal with people this unprofessional!

My husband tested this week. He passed pre trip but had to deal with a tester rushing him because she was cold and hungry. He failed parallel because she improperly set up the cones. She boxed a full rectangle in except for 3 cones, which is physically impossible. One entire side should be left open. If he can't get someone to answer a phone and get a retest Friday with a supervisor he will have no job Monday . We really need someone from that office to contact us

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. I read the reviews and didn t wanna jump on the band wagon. So I decided to try them out I m from Houston tx. They are extremely strict and will fail you for the smallest thing cause they would rather sit in the office all day. I don t mean to be typical but they seem very racist. Stray away from this place at all cost.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. If you're wanting to get your CDL dont come here!! My husband has tried testing here twice. First time they could not read the empty weight on the trailer so they said they needed the Registration. He provides them the Registration and then they said they cant accept that they need the title instead because you can "change" the empty weight on the Registration. So he wasnt able to test because he didnt get the title in time. Second time he brought a trailer with a readable empty weight on it all ready to go! He goes through his pre trip the EXACT same way he did at another dmv and PASSED with flying colors, yet this time the lady here told him he failed. Totally confused he asked her why he failed, she said she wasnt allowed to tell him, so he asked if she could at least tell him if he failed bad and she said I cant tell you that either.... DONT come here!!! I wish I saw all the negative reviews of this place for schedule his test here due to alot of similar circumstances. Stay away from this place!

One of my staff went for his CDL B testing at this site and never made it past his pre-inspection testing either 3 times. The 1st time they did tell him that he didn't physically touch each item he was explaining. The 2nd time the tester would not tell him what he didn't do except she said it was one thing in the Cab portion and his trainer couldn't help him determine the one thing either. 3rd time he went into great detail, enough detail that you could have overhauled the truck with as much information as he provided and again they failed him and all they could tell him this time is, we don't want to know word for word out of the book how to do this. I don't know what they want and not sure they do either. If the DMV is all about safety then I am not sure what the deal is with this site because it sure seems that they could be much more helpful so people can do better in their testing thus leading to safer drivers. People want to do the right thing but when you have a site like this it makes you wonder what is happening to our country and why people have to be so hard to get along with. I have noticed there is a need for bus drivers in every small town I pass through and I think I know why now, it is because the CDL testing isn't worth the trouble for the pay you receive and especially if testing is becoming this complicated.

Wish I can give this DMV a zero.I drove 2 hours from Houston to this DMV to only walk in to the most nastiest attitudes I have ever seen in my life.My appointment was at 1:30 pm I arrive at 12:00 pm the confirmation text states arrive 1 hour prior to appointment I was then told to come back at 1:30 pm No PROBLEM.Here is were the trouble lies.I arrive back at 1:30 pm only to have my Scheduled tester arrive at 1:45 pm back to office.I was told I needed an inspection paper but I have a brand new truck but the dealership only gives you the registration paper instead because you cant get registration paper or sticker without having an inspection. But I understand I still needed the inspection paper no problem mind you it takes 20 minutes to get inspection paper and the inspection place is right up the road would have taken 35 minutes tops for everything.Instead I was told they couldn't see me even though the point of arriving early is for situations like this and the tester was late on top of that.PLEASE STAY AWAY FOR THIS DMV. Not just because of my situation but the locals and I have seen first hand that these are some very bitter and nasty attitude having people.I would better undersatnd of take it better for someone with a better attitude
