Needed to have my 5.3 heads cleaned up, Richard gave me great pricing, I ended up with the heads cleaned up, resurfaced and rebuilt. Delivered as promised he offered quick turnaround and very easy to work with.

well....took 4-cyl head in for bath and pressure test...Richard wasn't there; in fact the 2 trips I made Richard wasn't there. If you reach him on the phone, okay, but didn't return my calls, nor the one his guys promised me. Well, without feeler guage the guy says needs resurfacing (!); at least he used flat edge. Without cleaning the head, they pressure-tested the valves. Took a week all told, after being promised over phone before I came that it would be 1 day for what I asked. Not impressed. Not planning on going back.

This is the Worst Machine Shop that i have ever used. They will blame you for bad work. I had them Finish a Head after a week. They Finally Call me and tell me it was ready never once told me a price.After having trouble with a prior Work. and giving them a second chance. I took this head to another machine shop in the area and had them check it. the Seat where not done right it was losing vacuum and they should me before they took it apart. Save yourself the time and hassle go somewhere else.Service: Engine repair

Richard intentionally ripped me off on pistons I ordered through him!!. Paid him $1500 for custom pistons, he ordered stock and was going to try and sneak them by me. When I called him out on it he said he would order the original ones I requested. He still ordered the wrong pistons and they will not work with my engine build!. He refused to give me my money back. He had all my engine parts to do the machine work and there was no excuse to order the wrong parts, except that the parts he ordered were cheaper than quote price and he would make a bigger profit. I took the block to a professional machine shop to check it for bore and they said the block is not usable!!. Richard either didn t know how to check it or was going to intentionally scam me on that also just to make the money!!. Do Not Take Anything To Richard Painter!!. I ve known him over 30 years and thought I could trust him!.

He knows his stuff took in my head's to have bolts removedHe let me know right a way that I had a crack in my head. And told me where I could get new head'sSaving me a ton that I could not afford. Thank you so much.

These guys are rad. Priced right and flexible on timelines. I will use them for the foreseeable future as GOOD machine shops are VERY hard to find. I've brought them all kinds of different stuff and they have yet to tell me "we don't work on those" so BIG THUMBS UP from me.Update, have now brought them inline six heads and Dodge Neon heads, Chevy blocks and even some Ford stuff. Always treated me right and I will continue to do business with these folks.

They were professional, fast, and very good at what they do. Had a bad experience with a different shop, then used Richards place and am thrilled. I will refer anyone I know who's looking for a machine shop to Richard's.

This is the worst machine shop I have ever delt with in almost 20 years in the auto industry. I sent a block to have it checked honed and cam bearings installed, along with the heads to have them checked as well. I sent the crankshaft to have it turned. When I first got a call I was told that I need a new crank shaft along with new rods and my heads needed reworked. I approved the work he suggested. When my motor was returned the cam bearings were mushroomed and oil journals were not aligned. I called and told them and they said to send it back and they would take care if it. I was told to send my camshaft along with it (knowing they were coing to tell me I needed a new one) so I did. When I recieved another call as suspected I was told I needed a new camshaft. When the block was returned the second time the cam bearings were scored and again the journals were not aligned .I was told that it didnt make a difference and that I was nit picking. I did recieve a refund on the bearing and labor for install 37 dollars out of a 500 dollar job. I paid for a job to be done and done right yet that is not what I recieved. I will never use or send anyone to this shop If thats even what you want to call it. They were rude and were not worried about me the customer not being happy with their work. BE WARE OF THIS PLACE.

Stopped by for pricing, cheaper then others I've checked with and they seem to do it the correct way. Was impressed when I was talking with them. Will be bringing my stuff to them.

This guy used to be in euless, read the reviewers there. He is the reason I can no longer trust engine builders. I am doing it on my own from now on. Horrible experience, and doesn't back up his work at all. Read his reviews in euless.
